Godly wisdom for daily living. Hi Line Ministries PO Box 236 St. Marie, MT 59231
Circumstances can affect the value of anything, and differing circumstances can make the very same thing either worthless or extremely valuable and precious.
We must remember, we are never beaten until we decide we are beaten, until we quit or give up. It is not in our Spirit Man we are where we are tempted to give up; it's always in our minds. It is there, in our mind, the battle takes place as the devil attacks in an effort to cause us to give up.
Heredity is a splendid phenomenon that relieves us of responsibility for our shortcomings. Hereditary is what sets the parents of a teenager wondering about each other.Heredity: The passing on a physical or mental characteristics genetically from one generation to another.
Which is greater, the Law which came by Moses or Grace and truth which came by Jesus Christ and the love of God that was shed abroad in our hearts by the holy spirit?
The Dasypelis is a snake native to Africa and the Elachistodon is a snake native to India. These snakes like and swallow eggs revealing to us a spiritual principle.
Proverbs 16:7: When a man's (or woman's) ways please the Lord, He (the Lord) makes even His enemies to be at peace with Him.
Dispelling two ideas; the first idea that's not true is that the work of the ministry, for Christian, is done strictly behind the pulpit. NOT TRUE!The second idea is that if you are doing God's work without being behind the pulpit the work you are doing for God is less essential, or less important. NOT TRUE!
The event of the Cross was necessary; it dealt with sin. But the empty tomb is what gives us victory.
Close your eyes, empty your mind of all distractions, and allow yourself to be taken on a journey to Jerusalem many years ago.
A simple rule to follow concerning walking in love: "Deal with and treat others just as God deals with and treats you".
Richard Bach: "You can tell what something is by learning what it is not."
Our faith works not so much by how much Word we have in our talk, but in accordance to the amount of love we have in our walk!
David went from keeping sheep, to killing a giant to living in a king's palace.
Christians are under a law; not the Mosaic law, but the law of love. The Mosaic law is imposed from the outside, love impresses from the inside. The Law compels; love impels (urges, drives). The Law is what we do because we have no choice; love is what we do because we have a choice. The law is what our bodies are forced to obey; love is what our hearts won't allow us not to obey. The law binds us to service; love frees for service.
Proverbs 12:25. "A person's anxiety will weigh him down, but an encouraging word makes him joyful." I believe this podcast is an "encouraging word" to you>Whenever and wherever God's people praise Him, He reigns among them and does miraculous things on their behalf.
"...Who hindered you from obeying the truth?" "A little leaven leavens the whole lump." "And I, brother, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the Cross has ceased."
Grace is not a license to sin; it is a license to serve; God gives us freedom to serve Him and binds us only with love.
Heart disease is the number one killer in the world. One of the major contributors is stress and anxiety. Three (3) things the Bible shows us we can do to keep stress and anxiety out of our lives.
For us to continue to grow and mature in God, we need to see ourselves as God sees us and dominate our flesh by operating in the Spirit.
4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ's Body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. (Romans 12:4-5 NLT)
"5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them;......."
Because of what Christ has done for us upon the Cross, we need to quit seeing our self as sin stained and see ourselves as blood washed.
The Apostle Paul uses the two sons of Abraham as examples of law and grace, and the works of the flesh and the fruit of the spirit!
The word "church" appears 120 times in the NKJV of the Bible. All of them are in the New Testament. What does "church" mean and how do I as a Christian fit in.
The old written Covenant ends in death; but under the New Covenant the Spirit gives life.
Jesus literally became our mercy seat. Not only was He the place of mercy between God and mankind but instead of the blood of an animal it was His blood that was used and paid the price for our sin.
Have I now become your enemy because I tell you the truth?
The Bible is God's written will for us; whether you read it as a novel or study it as a student of the Word, it contains the answers to every situation you will face in life.
Therefore, you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
But I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing!
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
The shedding of innocent blood to cover man's sin and protect him, started a long time ago, long before the Passover at Exodus.
Since God created both worlds, spiritual and the natural, He saw to it that His Word, the Bible, contained wisdom for both realms. It's our Creator's handbook for living life successfully all areas.
The more I read the Christmas story the more I realize it was an era of change; from Heaven itself to the very soul of man.
How surprising that this profound message of the birth of the Messiah, was trusted the one of the lower classes in society, shepherds. God wasn't about to let the birth of His Son go unheralded by some missed earthly tradition.
Colossians 2:8-10: 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. "Because as He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)
It's one thing to know the different types of prayers, but it's another thing to have answered prayer.
Romans 5:12: "Here is how it works: It was through one individual that sin entered the world and through sin, death; and in this way death passed through to the whole human race, in as much as everyone sinned." Romans 5:15: "But there is a great difference between Adams sin and God's gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God's wonderful Grace and His gift of forgiveness to many through this other Man, Jesus Christ."
Unlike a general prayer, the prayer of petition or supplication is a prayer in which you are very specific about what You desire. As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is okay to petition God for something specific, as long as you have a submissive heart that says, "Not my will Lord but Yours be done."
If we are saved by Grace through faith, what purpose then does the Law serve?
Things we can do in our prayer life to keep it from being boring.
Galatians 3:17-18 17 And this I say, that the law, which was 430 years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. God made promises to Abraham. The obligation to fulfill those promises we're not Abraham's, but God's.
Sometimes the problem with general prayer is we pray "the same old things about the same old things." When praying is boring then we don't feel like praying. And, if we don't feel like praying it's hard to make ourselves pray because it's hard to do something you don't feel like doing.
