Phil Goff is standing by his comments about US President Donald Trump as he arrives back in New Zealand. The former High Commissioner to the UK was sacked from his role after questioning whether Trump understood history. Goff says Trump's treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prompted the question. He told Mike Hosking the comments weren't made flippantly. Goff says he thought about them seriously and wanted to know why the Trump administration was appeasing Russia. He also acknowledges his comments were risky, but didn't expect to be fired for them. We are commanded to put on the whole Armour of God in order to stand our ground in the victory of Christ (Ephesians 6:13). Then Paul describes 6 pieces of Armour in v14-17: (1) the Belt of Truth, (2) the Breastplate of Righteousness, (3) the Gospel Shoes, (4) the Shield of the Faith, (5) the Helmet of Salvation, and (6) the Sword of the Spirit. Then v18 describes a 7th item of our Armour – the Lances of Prayer: “praying always with all kinds of prayer and supplication in the Spirit.” Standing firm in our defensive Armour means that we are ready to launch our offensive long-range weapons – the Lances of Prayer. First, we study the Lance of Praise, which binds and silences the enemy (Psalm 8:1-2, Matthew 21:16, Psalm 149:6-9). Secondly, we study the Lance of the Sacrifice of Thanksgiving - thanking God in advance for the fulfilment of His promises and the manifested victory, based on His revealed character (faithfulness). This should be our lifestyle (Hebrews 12:15), and it prepares the way for God to show (manifest) His salvation (Psalm 50:23). Derek then illustrates the place and power of this Sacrifice in (1) the Feeding of the 5000 (John 6:11,23), (2) Jonah's deliverance from the great fish (Jonah 2:9-10), (3) Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16:23-34), and (4) God fighting for Israel in the time of Jehoshaphat (2Chronicles 20). Finally, we study the Lance of the Prayer of Binding and Loosing in the Name of Jesus, where we use the Keys of the Kingdom to enforce Christ's finished work and completed victory on earth (Matthew 16:18-19, 18:18). We can bind and loose on earth, whatever Christ has already bound or loosed in Heaven through the New Covenant.

Fredi Chohan is a sports enthusiast and advocate for embracing new challenges, proving it's never too late to take on something extraordinary. As a mom, I know how hard this can be - we all have those moments where we just feel like we're at the end of our rope. But I want you to know that it doesn't make you a bad parent. It just means you need to take care of yourself, whether that's taking a break, practicing self-care, or finding healthy ways to manage your emotions.   In this episode, I get real about my own struggles with traditional "play" activities, and how I've learned to connect with my kids in my own unique way. I also share my honest thoughts on some popular parenting experts and methods - not everything works for every family, and that's okay! The key is being kind to yourself, setting boundaries, and making time for your own mental health. When we do that, we can show up as calmer, more regulated parents. Beth was raised in Worcester, MA and she was the youngest of three children. Unfortunately, she was born seventeen years after her second oldest sister. She was basically raised as an only child and  unfortunately didn't get much attention from her parents. Alan's grandparents felt that she was a pretty blond haired, blue eyed young lady and that she'd get married and start a family. They never instilled any ideals about higher education and basically left her to fend for herself.Well, she and her husband did fall in love and started a loving family but then her dreams were crushed  when she suddenly lost the love of her life and the father of her two children in the car accident.Beth did her best to encourage her children to shoot for the stars, aim high and big, go to college, many more doors will open for you. Alan says he's so grateful to his mom for "teaching him to aim high. She'd say you'll have choices. She taught me to care about school." My guest completed his  Engineering degree at WPI, Worcester Polytechnic Institute.  Though very successful, he felt as though he wasn't satisfied. At this crossroads of his life, Alan felt as though he wasn't "as focused on the inside-out, I was focused on the outside-in and I didn't realize it." Loosing his father at 2 1/2-3 years old was crushing for the entire family and says  "loosing a father very young, it takes a lot of humility to admit that you need hope. Hope inspires others to better their best."One thing that Alan struggled with is that he didn't feel that his mother's advice  matched her actions. "No one ever really led by example. So I've invested the last ten years, time and effort, on my own  self improvement."
