Welcome to Me My Thoughts and Eyes, a podcast where I take a dive into what's on my mind.
What's good y'all? What's been on my mind lately (and will remain for at least the next month) is this election. I'm sure it's the same for y'all too. I'm frustrated at the debate but even more so at folks who remain apathetic about voting and are trying to spread that apathy. Hey y'all. My mind was all over the place, as usual on this one. From negro spirituals to untimely passings... you know what? Maybe it was as all over the place as I thought. Either take a listen and tell me what you think. As always, you can follow me on Twitter @ThoughtsandEyes Follow the blog at www.MeMyThoughtsandEyes.wordpress.com Email: MeMyThoughtsandEyes@gmail.com

Yo! So on my mind this week is the return of the legendary hip-hop group Little Brother! I mostly share my excitement about the surprise album of this group that's pretty important to me. I also give my thoughts so far on A Black Lady Sketch Show and the ongoing Chicken Wars. This will be my last episode for a while as the semester has started back and I need to get into the zone. What it dew babeee!!!?? On my mind this week is the excellence that is NOWzine, a publication that I had the honor of contributing to. So I share my excitement for that as well as my praises for Jacques Nyemb who gave me the opportunity to make a dream come true. I also share a story about a time I accidentally went to conservative white church. Take a listen and tell me what you think. Thanks for the listen!! As always, you can follow me on Twitter @ThoughtsandEyes Follow the blog at www.MeMyThoughtsandEyes.wordpress.com Email: MeMyThoughtsandEyes@gmail.com

What it do everybody? I'm back!! The semester is finally done and I'm on summer break. As I'm getting back into the swing of things, I ramble on about Game of Thrones mostly, but Meg Thee Stallion is also on my mind, along with one of the many reasons I love my people. As always, you can follow me on Twitter @ThoughtsandEyes Follow the blog at www.MeMyThoughtsandEyes.wordpress.com Email: MeMyThoughtsandEyes@gmail.com
In my mind this week are Nipsey Hussle's passing and some of the controversy surrounding it, Chris Rock and Jussie Smollett, and the college admissions scandal. This will also be my last episode for a minute as I'm taking a short break to focus on wrapping up the semester. So please enjoy, like, share, comment, and subscribe. Thank you for rocking with me this whole time and I'll be back around mid-May. What's good everybody? So I'm all over the place this episode (what's new?) as on my mind this week is being a f**k boi, Black History Month, and the O'Jays. This episode is a little shorter than intended as I'm in the middle of some projects that have me tied up and a man can't even let his mind wander like it needs to. What's good yall!? This week on my mind is some Black joy, and unfortunately a little bit of Black face. I'm thinking about the debacle in Virginia, as well as the return of the Boondocks and the very dope documentary Horror Noire. Also on my mind is my first podcast feature with the homie Rhayne (aka the Carefree Black Nerd) on his "A Deadly Class Act" Podcast. I got to chop it up with him about episode 4 of SyFy's new show Deadly Class, which I've linked below. Check out the show and listen to what we have to say. This week I'm thinking about some of the unsung heroes of Black history, some of the Democratic candidates, bad streets and Limewire. Yo! Taking up the majority of my head space this week is the greatness that is #BlackComicBookFestNYC at the Schomburg Center. In addition, I reflect on the Fyre Festival documentaries which reminds me of Universal Fan(Scam)con. Also, I forgot to mention it in the episode, but this does mark the start of me moving the show to a bi-weekly schedule. What's good? This week I show Dollar Tree a little love, chronicle my adventures in the snow, and I have a few thoughts on the White House's national champions dinner. I also let it be known that I'm going to start putting out shows on a bi-weekly basis since classes are starting back for me. I intend to put out another next week and then start bi-weekly from there. As always, you can follow me on Twitter @ThoughtsandEyes Follow the blog at www.MeMyThoughtsandEyes.wordpress.com
What's good ya'll? This week, weighing heavy on my brain is the documentary #SurvivingRKelly. If you've seen it, or followed conversations on social media, you already know it's deep. I just share a few of the many things that came mind resulting from it. I'm also thinking about Instagram eavesdropping in on my conversations, the Black National Anthem, as well as redistribution of wealth. Yo! This week I've been thinking about a few things I've been geeking out about. Such as an Oddisee and Phonte concert I attended, Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, and catching up on comics. On the other end, I think at length about Black male geeks' attacks on Black women and how it irks me a bit. But don't let that fool you, that frustration is sandwiched in between what was an overall amazing week. What's good? Lately I've been thinking about how to maintain a positive outlook on life, white people getting credit for Black stuff, and how them alphabet boys are out here lurking. Hey I'm back from an unintended hiatus and I've got Chipotle on my mind along with Anime and cookies. I also start to process some of my thoughts about cancel culture, and I'm sure I'll revisit again at some point soon and I flesh it out more. As always, you can follow me on Twitter @ThoughtsandEyes Follow the blog at www.MeMyThoughtsandEyes.wordpress.com Thanks for the listen!
What it dew?! We're just coming to the end of Homecoming season so I've been reflecting a bit on this year's experience. I'm also thinking about how people need to wash their hands, speeding tickets, Joe Budden being loud and wrong, and giving props to Anchor.FM for helping to reduce some of those barriers to entry for podcasting.
What's good y'all!? Finally made it to episode 10 and I'm feeling real good about this milestone. Throughout this episode I hit you with 10 of the best feelings in the world. On the other end of the spectrum, I'm also thinking about the commodification of Black culture as it's been weighing on my brain heavily lately. Plus I touch on digital baggage and one of the infinite reasons why men are trash. On the subject of commodification of Black culture, I mention Dr. Brandi Thompson Summers. Here's the link to her profile on VCU as well as some of her work. The two articles I mentioned are published in journals that are unfortunately behind a paywall. https://afam.vcu.edu/people/faculty/summers-on-leave-until-fall-2019.html H Street and the Aesthetics of Cool - http://thesociologistdc.com/all-issues/h-street-and-the-aesthetics-of-cool/ Black Lives Under Surveillance - https://www.publicbooks.org/black-lives-under-surveillance/ As always, you can follow me on Twitter @ThoughtsandEyes Follow the blog at www.MeMyThoughtsandEyes.wordpress.com Thanks for the listen!
What's Up!? So this week I had a good bit on my mind, from the recent appointment of Kavanaugh and the march for Black women, to white people curating Black culture. Follow me on Twitter: @ThoughtsandEyes and my blog www.memythoughtsandeyes.wordpress.com
What's up yall!? I'm back and in a new format that I've wanting to try out. So definitely let me know what you think about that. Today I'm thinking about a few random things like Keri Hilson, spell check, and those talented actors from your job's safety videos. Where are they? Are they OK? They eatin good? Follow me on Twitter: @ThoughtsandEyes and at MeMyThoughtsandEyes.wordpress.com
Today I'm thinking about the unnecessary tasering of an 11 yr old girl and killing of Botham Jean by the police. As well as the passing of Mac Miller and the toxic fandom/masculinity of blaming his ex. Intro: Rapsody ft. Mac Miller - Extra Extra Outro: Mac Miller ft. Phonte - I'll Be There
Today I was thinking about how I've fallen behind on my comic strip and potentially this podcast. So I just wanted to check in and provide a quick update as to what's been going on in these streets.
Today I'm thinking about how important it is to guard your energy.
Today I'm thinking about the greatness that is BlerDCon and this whole false notion that black women don't like nerds. blerdcon.com
And we back! And by we, I mean me. Took an unintended hiatus as I was trying to adjust to operating on a new schedule but I'm good now. Shouts out to the Anchor.fm app and being able to record directly on your phone. Today, in anticipation for BlerDCon coming up this week, I'm thinking about the perks of going to places and events solo dolo. I also talk about premiering my new comic strip and will include a link to that below. Listen, enjoy and provide feedback. I'd appreciate it. Yes I know that's not proper english, but so what? Today I've been thinking about Juneteenth, Octavia Butler and other people/things I feel I should have known about earlier in life.
