    The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Johnson County presents Kirsten Nelson, a board certified music therapist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Kirsten directs the music therapy internship program, instructing music therapy students in clinical training. She has worked with the newly formed Pediatric Palliative Care Core team for the past 4 years, serving on the education subcommittee. During her music therapy career, Kirsten has served pediatric inpatients and individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, addictive disorders and dementia.
