If there was one thing you think society should talk more about, what would it be?“So much of parenting is based on outdated and inaccurate gender stereotypes.”____________At this later stage in life, I'm starting to break down many ‘societal norms' I've carried with me for most of my life. This is interesting because I was brought up with quite progressive parents who didn't conform to the typical ‘norms' around gender bias that many of the parents of my mates did. It's hard to change deep-seated views around masculinity and femininity that often are formed and passed through generations before us. So I was super keen to sit down with a wonderful couple who just by encouraging their son to fully express who he is and wants to be, they've created a movement of allowing others to be themselves too. Scott Stuart is a best-selling children's author whose empowering messages have been seen almost 200 million times on social media, and Melina is a former professional dancer, turned branding and partnerships specialist. After their son fell in love with Elsa 6 years ago, and was subsequently told that "only girls can like Elsa", Scott & Mel have been committed to helping break down gender stereotypes for kids, to help everyone feel accepted for exactly who they are. But as you're about to hear - they are impacting far more than just kids. Children's book author Scott Stuart wrote a book for his son called My Shadow is Pink all about his son's love of dresses. He wrote the book to start conversations and allow greater acceptance of all the ways our children can express themselves. But walking the walk wasn't always easy. With a 90% startup failure rate and many Fortune 1000 companies unknowingly being on the brink of irrelevance, obscurity, and decline, “Rebooters” are needed now more than ever. In short—leaders need to think about Ubering themselves before they get Kodaked! I have interviewed to hundreds of CEO's over the years, many sharing their stories on how they rebooted themselves and their organization to adapt to and thrive in the future. Strategically, Rebooting your organization focuses in on three key area of transformation: People, Platform, and Passion. Operationally it requires infusing organizations—especially large ones—with the speed, thrill and attitude of a hectic entrepreneurial startup, combined with the urgency, focus and results of a disciplined turnaround. As an operation partner, board member and serial CEO, I have led my share of reboots (and turnarounds), and often look to organizations like the TMA (Turnaround Management Association) for support. With 10,000 members and 58 chapters globally, the TMA is a helpful resource for struggling companies when they need it most—from industry titans to scaleups. When CEO's ask me, about the difference between a Reboot and a Turnaround, I advise them that: you reboot an organization before you need it, before it's too late, before the ‘turnaround guy' shows up. To unpack this and more, we invited CEO Scott Stuart for this episode of The Reboot Chronicles. With 30 years of restructuring experience, Scott has some pointed stories and tips, from his front row seat watching companies fall and helping them climb back out of the muck. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rebootchronicles/message

I'm joined by Scott Stuart and wife Mel to explore our gender bias, judgements and how we can get a handle on them. We delve into:
Losing a child is a devastating experience to go through under any circumstance and at any age. When that child has taken their own life however, the loss is magnified as family question even more deeply, the ‘why'. This was certainly the case for the Stuart family. Searching to give some meaning to his son's death, Scott Stuart wanted to give back. His goal has been to create awareness around suicide and the importance of talking to someone if you're struggling. Scott believes if he can prevent just one more family going through what his has experienced, then his goal is complete. With friends and family in tow, Scotty and his mates set out on a double crossing of the Simpson Desert on motorbikes whilst raising funds for the RFDS and Lifeline. Their journey had many challenges, disappointments, and triumphs. I hope you enjoy hearing about ‘Ride for Warrick' and the adventures the crew had. Scott is truly a remarkable Dad!

And who doesn't smile when they hear something like “The Sheep & Goat Innovation Fund?” Just imagine what that might include. Small ruminants need new computers, too (Okay, maybe not, but you'll find out when you listen). Two quick thank you's on this one: To Scott Stewart, for wearing that lovely vest. Wow. And to P.A. In fact, his messages about self-acceptance have been seen over 100 million times on social media.Yep, that was 100 million times. You see, before Scott rocketed to fame on Instagram and Tik Tok, he was like a lot of parents, just learning how to be the best dad he can be. When his young son fell in love with Queen Elsa from Frozen and was nervous to wear an Elsa dress alone to see Frozen 2 at the cinema, Scott embraced any discomfort and wore one right alongside him. A video of them in their Elsa costumes together quickly went viral online and these days, Scott channels his writing, illustrating and social presence around creating inclusive content for young kids and parents. He gets really honest about his own journey and experiences and talks to us about his best-selling children's books. Plus shares some great tips along the way.Guest: @scottcreatesHost: @alexisteasdale Books by Scott:larrikinhouse.com/product/my-shadow-is-pink-hardcoverwww.bigw.com.au/product/the-very-first-you-by-stuart-scott/p/168187/

Welcome to season two of Story Surprise. This season, we are focused on impactful stories and inclusion! To get things started, join Anthony & Lauren with guest reader Juan Gomez for ‘My Shadow is Pink'. This story is about daring to be different and being true to who you really are. Scott Stuart wrote this story when he was forced to confront his own thoughts on gender stereotypes when his three-year-old son developed a love for Elsa from Frozen. In the story, the child has a secret. The child isn't like the dad. The Dad has a blue shadow. And the child, has a pink shadow. Juan, our guest has experienced having a shadow of many shades and colours. We are very excited they have joined us to help us share this important story with your family! Parent's and Carers, if you'd like to learn a little more about Juan and why Anthony and Lauren felt Juan would be best to represent the themes of breaking gender stereotypes in this episode, check out our interview with Juan in our new video series. Colours and clothes are for everyone. Scott Stuart is a best selling Children's book author, but he is firstly Dad to 8yr old Colin. An 8yr old who loves Queen Elsa, to paint his nails and to twirl in a dress. He reminds me a lot of my son who, for as long as I can remember, loves things that society yells are not for boys; pink, princess costumes, flamingos, things society tells us boys aren't allowed to enjoy.Scott is paving the way for change. He is a leading voice on fully accepting and empowering our children, exactly as they are. This episode talks on redefining masculinity, discussing what it means to be a man and crushing gender stereotypes. His book ‘My Shadow is Pink' created the most touching moment for me this week, and I shared this with Scott today.I learnt so much, and I know you will all take something from this ep.Find Scott:IG: @scottcreatesTiktok: @Scott.createsWebsite: https://links.scottstuart.coThis episode is proudly brought to you by the Ouchie Pouchie, the feel good cold pack. On this week’s episode of Till Death Do Us Pod we are chatting to Scott Stuart, Scott is a best-selling children’s book author who is committed to creating content that empowers young kids. I first came across Scott on Instagram where he had posted a video of him and his son dressed as Queen Elsa, off to the Frozen 2 Premiere. I found his content around gender stereotypes and toxic masculinity really intriguing and knew that Mike and I had to get him onto the show to find out more. Scott recently released his 4th book, My Shadow is Pink, it is such a beautifully written book and our girls have really enjoyed it. We also played a game of 2 Truths & a Lie which is always hilarious.
My Shadow is Pink is a beautifully written rhyming story that touches on the subjects of gender identity, self acceptance, equality and diversity. Inspired by the author’s own little boy, ‘Shadow’s’ main character likes princesses, fairies and things ‘not for boys’...he soon learns (through the support of his dad) that everyone has a shadow that they sometimes feel they need to hide.
