This week, I'm reviewing The Morning Show, an Apple TV+ Original that came out in 2019, received overwhelmingly positive reviews, and won quite a few awards that season. I'm giving you my honest opinion, and I'll tell you if it's worth all the hype.--Keep up with me:Instagram: @RaeReviewsThings | Twitter: @RaeReviewsPod | Email: RaeReviewsThings@Gmail.com | Website: RaeReviewsThings.com

Sweet Magnolias brings many of our favorite faces back to TV; we've got Jamie Lynn Spears, JoAnna Garcia and Chris Klein. I had Medium-low expectations for this show, but I was still surprised by the finished product. Listen in as I discuss why I'm so conflicted about this show. Although, by the end of the review, I think I reach a definitive decision…--It might be July, but Black Lives Still Matter. Rest in Peace Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and the countless others that have been murdered by the police.--Keep up with me:Instagram: @RaeReviewsThingsTwitter: @RaeReviewsPodEmail: RaeReviewsThings@Gmail.comWebsite: RaeReviewsThings.com

#BlackAF was a much-discussed topic during it's initial release. Black Twitter seemed divided over it, so I'm here to weigh in. Take a listen to see if I'm a fan of the comedy or if it should be ejected into space with all the other TV flops. It might be July, but Black Lives Still Matter.

For the month of June, I will be highlighting documentaries, movies, or films that highlight the political, social, and financial obstacles that Black people in America face as a result of racism and oppression. This week I'm talking about episode 1 of Vol. 4 of Hasan's minhaj's Netflix Show. The episode takes a deeper look at the broken policing system in America, and the challenges we face in fixing it. Rest in Peace Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and the countless others that have been murdered by the police. #BlackLivesMatter.--The Process:I've crafted my own rubric for shows, music, books and movies, which is what my reviews are based on. In the end I land on a rating (out of five), but I try not to focus so much on the number. We all have different tastes so I try to give a very fair review and I try to be very transparent about my biases. My goal is to highlight things that I enjoy, but I understand the need to highlight movies made by, starring, and centered around people of color. For that reason, you might find lesser known movies, music and shows.Keep up with me:Instagram: @RaeReviewsThingsEmail: RaeReviewsThings@Gmail.comWebsite: RaeReviewsThings.com
Miss Bala stars Gina Rodriguez as an American whose friend has gone missing after going down to Mexico to party. It's meant to be a bad-ass movie where she kicks ass and takes names on her quest to find her missing friend. Did it translate? Eh…Not really. Listen as I tell you why and where it missed the mark.Keep up with me:Instagram: @RaeReviewsThingsEmail: RaeReviewsThings@Gmail.comWebsite: RaeReviewsThings.com
On the Basis of Sex is the biopic of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one of the most well known judges to sit on the Supreme Court bench. Into The Spiderverse is an amazing animated cartoon based on the Spider-Man comics. Miles Morales is the main focus of the film, but it definitely is a twisty-turny, beautifully animated look at a multi-dimensional universe in which many versions of Spider-Man exist. It's well done and so worth the watch!Instagram: @RaeReviewsThings | Email: RaeReviewsThings@Gmail.com | Website: RaeReviewsThings.com
