In what might be one of our shortest episodes to date, we must warn you about this expletive filled rant. In this episode, we recap the 2017 South African Romantic Drama, Catching Feelings, which stars Kagiso Lediga and Pearl Thusi. This the story of an insanely unlikable hero who girl bossed too closed to the sun. We didn't like him one bit, but were united in the common goal the tear him to shreds. Hope you enjoy!

For @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ this week, we went and gave you another 'TWO Parter'!!! In 'Part One' we take a look at the film sequel to 2019's 'Wu Assassins', and then a musical adaptation! 'Wu Assassins: Fistful Of Vengeance' is directed by Roel Reiné and written by Cameron Litvack, Jessica Chou & Yalun Tu. Kai Jin (Iko Uwais), a young Chinatown chef in present day San Francisco, becomes entangled with the Chinese Triad's pursuit of deadly ancient powers known as the "Wu Xing. 'Cyrano' is directed by Joe Wright and Erica Schmidt adapts her 2018 musical of the same name. It's a re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr). Once upon a time, there was a girl who always aimed high—and inspired others to do the same. Her name was Michelle. When Michelle was a little girl living on the Southside of Chicago, her mother always told her: “If it can be done, you can do it.” Though often full of self-doubt, Michelle was so smart and hardworking, that she skipped second grade, and in middle school, she graduated second in her class. She went on to study law at Harvard and eventually became the first Black First Lady of the United States. Now an author, mother, and lawyer, Michelle Obama is everything the younger version of herself dreamt of becoming.About the Narrator: Pearl Thusi is a South African actress, model, television host, and radio personality. Queen Sono is new to Netflix, a South African show starring Pearl Thusi (from Quantico). In my review I breakdown all my favorite parts (spoiler free of course) and tell you whether it's worth the watch!--The Process:I've crafted my own rubric for shows, music, books and movies, which is what my reviews are based on. In the end I land on a rating (out of five), but I try not to focus so much on the number. We all have different tastes so I try to give a very fair review and I try to be very transparent about my biases. My goal is to highlight things that I enjoy, but I understand the need to highlight movies made by, starring, and centered around people of color. For that reason, you might find lesser known movies, music and shows.Keep up with me:Instagram: @RaeReviewsThingsEmail: RaeReviewsThings@Gmail.comWebsite: RaeReviewsThings.com

Loyiso Madinga is a comedian, actor, writer, and MC who I'm pretty certain you're familiar with. Loyiso is one of four South Africans to have a half-hour special with Netflix as part of their Comedians of the World series, he's the African correspondent for Trevor Noah's Daily Show, has featured locally on LNN with Loyiso Gola and Bantu Hour, has two one-man shows under his belt, and stars in the upcoming Netflix original series Queen Sono with Pearl Thusi. He's achieved more than most in the SA entertainment industry but that doesn't mean everything is going great for him. As you'll learn on this podcast, success can lead to self-doubt and insecurities that can be debilitating. While from the outside it looks like Loyiso has a career many would be jealous of, internally there are struggles that many of us will find relatable. This is a candid and open discussion about what success really means as a South African artist from someone who is well on his way to greatness but is scared he may never achieve it. https://almostperfect.co.za/ep-49-loyiso-madinga/
