We have arrived at the 4th installment of our favorite family drama! You can breathe a sigh of relief — Both Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are back for this one. Michelle Rodriguez is also back in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of way before her untimely murder. We cover the infantilization of Jordana Brewster's Mia, Gal Gadot's film debut, and as always, Paul Walker's Brian breaking every single law and doing whatever he wants despite being an FBI agent.
It's been a minute since we saw this in theaters back in March. But we remember having a good time at this D&D fantasy comedy. Based on the popular and Satanic role-playing game from Hasbro. This game brand adaptation stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Rege-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant. Directed by the talented duo of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who brought us Game Night (2018), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), and Horrible Bosses (2011). If you liked any of these, then you might like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves!

If you are a keen cinemagoer, you might have caught Alnwick Castle featuring in Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves on the big screen this spring. Brad and Callum, who both lead film location tours of the Castle, worked on the film crew. Charlotte, another of our Film Tour team, actually appeared in the film as 'Female Labourer 1'. And finally, Michelle, whose love for D&D led her to create interactive theatre show 'Roll For Initiative'.There is some discussion of the characters from the film, and of scenes that were shot at Alnwick Castle. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a fun, action/comedy that makes you wonder why it took so long to get a decent D&D movie made. @dgoebel00 on Instagram provided this amazing artwork. Follow him and check out his website. https://youtu.be/IiMinixSXII Synopsis A charming thief with nothing to lose and everything to gain embarks on an epic quest to find a party of like-minded ne'er-do-wells who will help him obtain a long lost relic. This plucky adventure takes a turn for the worst when evil red wizards start taking over the Neverwinter. Will our band of fun and quirky characters pull off the heist of a lifetime, or will they end up part of the army of the dead? Review Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves takes a game that historically has been considered one of the dorkiest, nerdiest, most basement dwelling neckbeardian IP's in the free world and attempts to make it appeal to general audiences. Somehow, they did it! They made Dungeons and Dragons digestible for your jock boyfriends, your football dads, and your Christian mothers Boggle groups. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a fun and easygoing romp through an incredible fantasy world that isn't bogged down with over-ripe lore or too-serious stakes. It's comedy chops are great, which really keeps the audience grounded almost as well as the fabulous casting. Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Hugh Grant anchor the cast and keep everyone in lockstep for the duration. The pacing is appropriate and holds everyone's attention by constantly showcasing some of the coolest fantasy world elements I've ever seen. Watch Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves Buy or Rent on Amazon Click Here to Watch If Star Trek can have a resurgence there is absolutely no reason Dungeons and Dragons shouldn't too. This IP has some of the most detailed and thorough content in the entire world, spanning the tabletop games, multiple book series, and dozens of video and card games. What we get in this movie is lots of fun, tons of great laughs, some astonishing eye candy, and the most generic of plots and stakes. Sometimes generic is alright, and this is the exact case that proves that point. No one wants a deadly serious Dungeons and Dragons movie. No one plays a deadly serious game of Dungeons and Dragons. It's fine that the story and plot are generic and somewhat foggy. Will it win awards and be lauded throughout time? No, but it won't go down as a failure and an embarrassment to nerds everywhere. Score 7/10

Hi and welcome to yet another exciting episode of Toretto's Shitty Tuna Sandwich. This week Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog Volvo P1800" Dykes, Joel "Alfa Romeo Spyder" DeWitte, and Ryan "Hudson Hornet" Lootens tackle 'Fast 9: The Fast Saga.' Does it recover the adventure and charm of the older entries in the series or does it strain with fatigue? Does it bring the ensemble that we know and love back together or does it feel like a Vin Diesel movie with other actors living in the b-story? The gang covers all this and more.
Alvaro Rodriguez has been writing since childhood and, in fact, did his best work when he was 11. Without a movie camera in sight, Rodriguez relied on the written word and a Polaroid Button to storyboard the films in his head. A crash course in entertainment writing and editing at the University of Texas student newspaper and seminars in creative writing supplied more tools for the toolbox. When he riffed on a Spanish guitar figure as the hero's musical theme in cousin Robert Rodriguez's debut film, El Mariachi (1992) (Columbia Pictures, 1993), he began a collaboration that has lasted more than two decades.Rodriguez sold his first pitch to Dimension Films, a spaghetti-western prequel to the genre-bending vampire flick From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) called From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter (1999) (Miramax/Dimension, 2000), which starred Marco Leonardi, Michael Parks, Sonia Braga, Rebecca Gayheart and Danny Trejo, with Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino producing.Rodriguez co-wrote the wishing-rock children's movie Shorts (2009) (Warner Brothers, 2009), starring James Spader, Jon Cryer, Leslie Mann, and William H. Macy, and followed that confection with the bloodier Machete (2010) (Fox, 2010) starring Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson, and Robert De Niro. Both were directed by Robert Rodriguez. As of 2014, he is writing on the television series From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (2014) for the El Rey Network, now in its second season, and is developing feature and television projects in the United States and Italy.A frequent panelist and presenter at the Austin Film Festival, he has also curated an "Epoca de Oro" Mexican film series at the Museum of South Texas History and has been a speaker at colleges and universities throughout the United States. His border-influenced short fiction has appeared in multiple publications, both physical and digital, including Mulholland Books/Popcorn Fiction, "Along the River" (2011), and the Bram Stoker Award-winning "After Death" (2013).This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/2664729/advertisement
Welcome to our first episode of Dog Days of Summer here on Slashers Podcast! The weather and heat this year has got us all hot and bothered in our respective states, so we decided to do films that feature some sort of canine creature. Today's episode has Mikey, Doug and Ade discussing 2006's The Breed. The film is presented by Wes Craven and directed by Nicholas Mastandrea, who actually served as Craven's first assistant director for 1994's Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Thankfully, the film features a star-studded up and coming cast of Michelle Rodriguez, Taryn Manning, Eric Lively (yes, Blake's brother), Oliver Hudson (yes, Kate's brother), and Hill Harper. The film follows a group of five college kids who are forced to match wits with unwelcoming residents when they fly to a "deserted" island for a party weekend. Your hosts even get into their thoughts about what they think of the new Saw X film, as well as The Exorcist: The Believer. Are you excited for the new horror to come? Let us know in the comments! If you want to watch The Breed before listening, and we recommend you do, it's currently streaming FOR FREE on Tubi and FreeVee (through Prime if you have it). This week on 'Toretto's Shitty Tuna Sandwich' Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog Shelby GT 500CR" Dykes, Joel "Bentley EXP100GT" DeWitte, and Ryan "Jaguar XJS" Lootens make a pit stop to talk about the rather abyssmal (and overlong) Fast franchise offshoot 'Hobbs & Shaw.' At least Statham and the Rock gave it their all, right? RIGHT?

(soundcloud.com / andoryukesuta)@andoryukesuta RESIDENT EVIL (2002) A virus has escaped in a secret facility called "The Hive," turning the staff into hungry zombies and releasing the mutated Lab "Animals" that they were studying. The complex computer shuts down the base to prevent infection. The parent corporation sends in an elite military unit, where they meet Alice, who is suffering from amnesia due to exposure to nerve gas. The military team must shut down the computer and get out, fighting their way past zombies, mutants, and the computer itself, before the virus escapes and infects the rest of the world. Alice must also come to terms with her slowly-returning memories. Resident Evil is a 2002 action horror film written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. The film stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Eric Mabius, James Purefoy, Martin Crewes, and Colin Salmon. It is the first installment in the Resident Evil film series, which is loosely based on the video game series of the same name. Borrowing elements from the video games Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2, the film follows amnesiac heroine Alice and a band of Umbrella Corporation commandos as they attempt to contain the outbreak of the T-virus at a secret underground facility. German studio Constantin Film bought the rights to adapt the series in January 1997. Several writers and filmmakers, such as Alan B. McElroy, George A. Romero and Jamie Blanks, were initially hired to direct and write the film, but their scripts were rejected. In 2000, Anderson was announced as writer and director. Developed as a prequel set in the same continuity as the video game series, the film was initially titled Resident Evil: Ground Zero, but was retitled after the September 11 attacks. Cast was announced in early 2001 and principal photography commenced in March 2001 in Berlin. Resident Evil was theatrically released in Germany on March 12, 2002, by Constantin Film Verleih, and in the United Kingdom on July 12, 2002, by Screen Gems and Pathé Distribution. The film received generally negative reviews from critics and grossed $103 million worldwide against a production budget of $33 million. It was followed by five sequels establishing their own alternate continuity: Apocalypse (2004), Extinction (2007), Afterlife (2010), Retribution (2012), and The Final Chapter (2016).
This week on another high octane episode of "Toretto's Shitty Tuna Sandwich," Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog Sion tC" Dykes, Joel "Ford Mustang" DeWitte, and Ryan "Dodge Viper" Lootens talk about the most disappointing entry in the Fast and Furious franchise since the second movie - 'The Fate of the Furious.' Slower car chases, pacing issues, and other issues abound and the Binge Buddies crew is there to work through them all.
On this week's exciting episode of "Toretto's Shitty Tuna Sandwich" Bryan Dressel, Joel "Dodge Dart Swinger" DeWitte, Matt "Zombie Dog Mazda Bongo Friendee" Dykes, and Ryan "Great Wall Wingle" Lootens talk about the box office smash that is Furious 7. This thing was huge and the gang gets to the bottom of why.

In the latest edition of Murder In The Morning, Tony Brueski and Stacy Cole delve deep into the enigmatic case of Rudy Farias, a Houston man who was reported missing as a teenager and suddenly reappeared after eight years. A saga filled with allegations of deceit and abuse, the case turns dark with Farias' cousin, Michelle Rodriguez, accusing Farias' mother of years of maltreatment and accusing the Houston Police Department of a potential "cover-up." The story began on March 7, 2015, when Farias' mother, Janie Santana, reported him missing at the age of 17. His unexpected reappearance on June 29, 2023, was initially celebrated as a "miracle", but in a startling twist, police revealed that Farias was never actually missing. According to Lt. Christopher Zamora, Farias returned home the day after his mother reported him missing, and both Santana and Farias provided law enforcement with "fictitious names and dates of birth". In a web of allegations and contradictions, activist Quanell X claimed that Farias had reported being sexually abused by his mother for years - a claim denied by the police. Meanwhile, Rodriguez, in her interview with FOX7, alleges that the abuse had started before the missing person report. She said, "His mother had been seen by my late grandma causing abuse to Rudy sexually, physically, mentally. This did not just start when Janie reported Rudy missing." The layers of deceit run deeper, with Santana allegedly using the funds raised to search for her supposedly kidnapped son for personal use. Quanell X alleged that she used the funds for vacations and personal expenses. Despite these revelations, the district attorney declined to charge Santana for the fake reports, although the investigation is ongoing. Rodriguez, in an emotionally charged statement, insisted on the truth being revealed, saying, "It's all going to come out, you can't hide, nothing is going to be hidden, so whatever you think you can hide, good luck it's coming out." The case takes a further grim turn with Pauline Sanchez Rodriguez, Farias' aunt, expressing frustration with the authorities' inaction. She told reporters that her late mother, Rosa Sosa Rodriguez, had been living with Santana and had repeatedly informed relatives that Farias was at their house. Court records suggest a troubled history with Santana, as her 2012 marriage was annulled due to accusations of her having at least five other spouses. Join Brueski and Cole as they dissect this twisted narrative of alleged deceit and abuse, in an episode that highlights the lengths to which individuals might go to maintain a façade of falsehood. It's a chilling examination of the human capacity for deceit and the terrible price paid by those caught in its web. . Want to listen to ALL our Podcasts Ad-Free? If you are a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, then you will be excited to watch the new movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. The movie captures the feel of sitting at a table and playing the almost 50-year-old role-playing game. We all especially enjoyed the fat dragon, which is both deadly and adorable. The movie is a faithful adaptation of the D&D experience, down to the cheesy jokes that happen in the middle of life-threatening events during the game. The movie stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Hugh Grant. The movie is full of references to D&D lore, such as the mimic. Hosts: Daniel Levain, Ian Sweetman and Eric Sweetman. Michael Witwer has become the foremost authority on Dungeons & Dragons art and information books. Earlier this year he released Dungeons & Dragons: The Legend of Drizzt Visual Dictionary, and he has 3 more books coming out soon. First we discuss the recent D&D movie starring Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez, plus the other movies as well. Then we get into some of the vintage products that came out when we were growing up. And finally we go over all the great books coming from Mike (and others) this year. First, The Legend of Drizzt Visual Dictionary , which came out earlier this year, is a highly detailed explanation of RA Salvatore's original character that has had so many adventures throughout the years. Next, Mike's first novel arrives August 29, 2023. It's a middle grade reader book called Vivian Van Tassel and the Secret of Midnight Lake. A story of a young girl who moves to a town with a lot of monstrous secrets. Inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, any Gen X-er and young reader will thoroughly enjoy this story. Coming October 3, 2023, Lore & Legends is a follow up to Art & Arcana and a beautiful celebration of the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. And finally, the follow up to Heroes' Feast: The Official D&D Cookbook that will be out November 7, 2023; Heroes' Feast - Flavors of the Multiverse. Just in time for your Thanksgiving feast! What kind of Dungeons & Dragons character are you? Did you have any of the vintage D&D products? First person that emails me with the subject line, “I am Dungeon Master” will get a special mention on the show. Let us know. #craftbeer #applevisionpro #studioghibli Apple's vision of the future is you shelling out thousands for the newly announced Vision Pro AR/VR headset. Will it be more iPhone or Zune? Then, with Fast X out to middling results, franchise captain Vin Diesel has high-revving rumored beef behind the scenes with co-star Jason Momoa. Has Vin jumped the shark/tank/stealth drone in real life? Speaking of the Fast series, longtime Fast-member Michelle Rodriguez recently kicked a hornets nest when she made comments supporting the totally real and not fake theory that POC are taking all of the white superhero roles nowadays. We break down this paper tiger and talk why diversity is helping the genre share something new for everyone. Finally, god of animation Hayao Miyazaki is saying goodbye with one last film, "How Do You Live?" The head of Studio Ghibli is going about it in an incredibly unique way, though -- there will be no previews, posters, or additional advertising to help sell the film. Is this genius, coocoo bananas, or maybe a bit of both? This week, we discuss DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES (1:58), Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley's delightful and fun fantasy heist action-comedy based on the iconic role-playing game, starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant. Then, we review Eva Longoria's FLAMIN' HOT (25:07), a biographical comedy-drama starring Jesse Garcia as Richard Montañez, who claimed to invent Flamin' Hot Cheetos. It's a trite film, but we appreciate the Mexican-American representation. And on this week's Patreon exclusive audio, we cover James Wan's 2013 supernatural horror film THE CONJURING!

The guys review Fast X. This is the 10th entry in the Fast and the Furious franchise. Realistically, when a movie franchise hits movie 10, there are no more rails, road, or earth, to build on. However, it can be done correctly. Does Fast X have what it takes to entertain, or will it land on the Where to Stick It list of shame? Catch new episodes of the Where to Stick It Podcast every Tuesday and Thursday. In 2001, they started out as simple street racing highway robbers. Since then, they've loved, they've died, they've come back to life, they've saved the world probably. At long last, their story comes to and end...er...hold up...it's not the end? It doesn't even know the meaning of the WORD "end?" In any case, it's Fast X, and our engines are suitably revved for Dom and them (and some new faces) to race back into our lives. What's GoodAlonso - Guinevere Turner, When the World Didn't EndDrea - Emo PhillipsMyq - Tom King's Batman comics Ify - Vidiots updates, cleaning out storageITIDICDavid Zaslav Gets Booed at BU Commencement‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' Character Rick Dalton Has Apparently Died“Ultimate Cut” of Cult Classic CALIGULA Screened at CannesEditor talking about the new edit of Caligula: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McuM46YHSSM&t=1sStaff PicksDrea - You Hurt My FeelingsAlonso - MonicaMyq - The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the HorseIfy - Fastlane TV seriesKeep up with Myq Kaplan's shows and albums at myqkaplan.comWith:Drea ClarkAlonso DuraldeIfy NwadiweMyq KaplanProduced by Marissa FlaxbartSr. Producer Laura Swisher

Evil Dead Rise is a 2023 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Lee Cronin. It is the fifth installment of the Evil Dead film series. Both were directed by Robert Rodriguez.]As of 2014, he is writing on the television series From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (2014) for the El Rey Network, now in its second season, and is developing feature and television projects in the United States and Italy.A frequent panelist and presenter at the Austin Film Festival, he has also curated an "Epoca de Oro" Mexican film series at the Museum of South Texas History and has been a speaker at colleges and universities throughout the United States. His border-influenced short fiction has appeared in multiple publications, both physical and digital, including Mulholland Books/Popcorn Fiction, "Along the River" (2011), and the Bram Stoker Award-winning "After Death" (2013).This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/2881148/advertisement

This week Jackie and Danielle are talking about the 2001 movie The Fast & The Furious with their pal Marley. Dominic Toretto enjoys the adrenaline of street car racing and his fans treat him like a rock star. After a blazing encounter with the ruthless Johnny Tran, Dom decides to take Brian, a newcomer to street racing, under his wing. Dom's sister Mia sees something she likes in Brian, too. Trouble is, neither of them realize he's an undercover cop, and Dominic and his rival Johnny Tran are both the prime suspects in a case involving dirty money and big-rig hijacking. Director: Louis Leterrier Writers: Dan Mazeau, Justin Lin Starring: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Sung Kang, Runtime: 2 hour 21 minutes Synopsis: Dom Toretto and his family are targeted by the vengeful son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes. I don't care what anyone says. The Fast & Furious movies used to be good for a bit of a streak there (5, 6 & 7). It's very clear the series took a nose dive after 7, which probably should have been the natural end of the series. The shift is clear. After Paul Walker died, the lead actor and character centered around Vin Diesel and he clearly has his own opinions on how the series should go. Justin Lin, who should be credited for saving these series, got chased off of Fast X a week into production and it shows. Fast X is a convoluted mess that doesn't make sense, has terrible action scenes and it some places forgets what story it's trying to tell because of terrible editing and scene transitions. Again, people will say it doesn't matter and the films have always been ridiculous. But the last few Fast movies have clearly been a drop off from the height of this series that actually put out some good films. Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss an episode!
