Davinder Singh Toor, author of "In Pursuit of Empire" and art collector joins Preet to discuss Art patronage under the Sikhs. Art flourished under the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and these pieces made their way into the Western World after the annexing of Punjab by the British in the mid-1800s. Pav Singh, author of "1984 India's Guilty Secret", stops by to chat about his understanding and work on exposing the 1984 Genocide by the Indian Government towards the Sikhs.  Following the assassination of sitting PM Indira Gandhi by her two Sikh bodyguards (Bawant & Satwant Singh), the streets of Delhi and India erupted into violence. Simi and Mona (mother and daughter) discuss the breakdown of Simi’s traditional arranged marriage. Simi (well educated and attractive) should have been the perfect match for her successful new husband, but even as early as her wedding night, she became wary of her husbands dependency on Marijuana. Simi details a 15 year period of domestic abuse and drug addiction set in an affluent Surrey suburb. However, Simi goes into detail about how she was able to escape and build a successful, happy, healthy life after the abuse.  Mona her daughter provides her perspective on how her parents relationship effected her, from court appearances to her own abusive relationship. This story is one all too familiar to many women.
