Raheem shares vivid behind-the-scenes stories, from his early days as Ginuwine's prodigy to his current status as a pioneer in the direct-to-consumer market through platforms like Even.biz. He dives deep into the philosophy of his live performances—including the viral, water-pouring "Splash Gordon" persona—emphasizing that true showmanship requires being a perpetual student of the craft and putting in the "10,000 hours" necessary to master the stage. His discussion on independence serves as a masterclass for modern artists, as he explains how consistency and a "borderline delusional" self-belief allowed him to bypass traditional industry gatekeepers and maintain a loyal fanbase that continues to support his prolific output. The conversation takes an emotional and nostalgic turn as Raheem pays tribute to the late, legendary producer Chucky Thompson, crediting him with architecting the iconic Bad Boy sound and reminiscing about their work together on the classic anthem "Woman." He reveals the high-stakes origins of that track, noting how a blunt challenge from his A&R regarding the lack of a "sophomore anthem" led to the song's creation in just 72 hours—a record that eventually became a personal favorite of the late Aretha Franklin. Looking toward the future, Raheem expresses his excitement for the upcoming "Say Yes" tour alongside Floetry and Teedra Moses, describing the collaboration as a celebration of R&B evolution and genuine friendship. Beyond the music, he highlights his philanthropic efforts through the Love Life Foundation and his advocacy for HIV awareness and mental health, proving that his enduring legacy is built as much on community impact as it is on his smooth, chart-topping hits. This episode of The Underground Lounge: After Hours turns into a soulful, grown, and wildly unfiltered conversation as the crew welcomes Grammy-nominated/Winner R&B staple Raheem DeVaughn to the couch. From the moment he steps in, the vibe is family. What starts with playful banter about his name and Ramadan quickly expands into a rich conversation about culture, hometown pride, and the evolution of DC nightlife, from mumbo sauce debates to the city's go-go era and how things shifted post-Covid.Raheem takes listeners back to his origin story, revealing how he went from being a scholarship track athlete to dropping out of college to pursue music full time, despite the understandable concerns from his parents. He opens up about grinding through open mics across DC, Baltimore, and Philly, moving CDs out the trunk before the industry caught up, and eventually landing his first major label deal. The conversation then shifts into a powerful breakdown of independence, ownership, and why artists must understand the business as much as the art. Raheem explains his direct-to-consumer strategy, selling music through tiered fan support and physical collectibles, vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and exclusive drops, proving there's still value in tangible art in a streaming era.And because it's After Hours, things don't stay strictly business. The energy turns spicy when the crew addresses a viral clip from his live show, leading to candid talk about stage theatrics, intimacy, and the undeniable connection between R&B and real-life romance. Raheem breaks down the art of performance, studying comedians to sharpen his timing, and why creating an escape for fans, whether through laughter, music, or love songs, is the ultimate goal.Insightful, funny, sensual, and packed with game, this episode blends grown man wisdom with After Hours chaos in the best way possible. When the Love King pulls up, the conversation doesn't just flow, it pours.

Raheem Madjavi from Knightsbridge FX joins Glen Sutherland to unpack what's driving the Canadian dollar vs. U.S. dollar and what Canadians should watch in 2026. They discuss key macro factors that move currency markets—interest rate differentials, jobs/GDP, oil and commodities, and trade-policy uncertainty—plus why the USD/CAD rate can stay volatile when policy shifts and headlines change fast. Raheem shares practical scenarios for how the loonie could strengthen modestly if U.S. rates come down, and why Canada's outlook also depends on broader economic resilience and trade outcomes. They also get tactical for Canadians investing in U.S. real estate: why bank FX spreads and wire mistakes can quietly cost hundreds (or thousands), and how to avoid getting “hosed” on exchange rates when moving large sums. Raheem explains how Knightsbridge works and walks through the common ways to move money cross-border—bill payment (CAD only), wire transfers (fast, often same/next day), and debit/credit between accounts (slower but convenient)—including when each method makes sense. The big takeaway: don't obsess over perfectly timing the currency market; focus on the underlying investment, reduce friction and fees, and execute a clean transfer strategy when you're ready.

Send us a textAtlanta finally made a move. We've got Kevin Stefanski in the building, and we're done grading the press conference—we're grading Sundays. We unpack why this hire fits the roster's real needs: an offensive mind with head coaching reps who's navigated chaos and still delivered structure, development, and playoff wins in Cleveland. It's not a splashy pick. It's a functional one. And if the Falcons align coach, GM, and QB, functional becomes wins.We go deep on the context the graphics leave out. Raheem versus Stefanski isn't about two-year records; it's about expectations, divisions, and roster realities. We also address the Shadur narrative head on: reps, draft slot, and the depth chart explain more than discourse does. If you want better outcomes, fix the system, not just the storyline. Then we pivot to what Atlanta fandom really wants—results over vibes. The city's love for Mike Vick and Prime is real, but nostalgia doesn't score in the red zone. Matt Ryan's run proved boring can be brilliant. The challenge now is to let performance—not narratives—decide futures.Beyond Atlanta, we hold the media to the same standard. Josh Allen's playoff flop, the All-Star starter debates, and college football's NIL-fueled shakeup all show how incentives distort analysis. Indiana's title is a symptom of a sport where money and structure outweigh tradition. In the NFL, structure still wins: clear schemes, smart situational calls, and quarterback development. That's the bet on Stefanski.Tap play to hear our unfiltered breakdown of the hire, the roster, and the path forward, plus playoff takeaways and a sharp look at how narratives get made. From her hospital bed, Marie Coble lit up when she saw the delivery driver whose help had likely saved her life. She’d fallen in her driveway and hit her head, causing a brain bleed. Seeing her injury, Raheem Cooper helped her while calling paramedics. Invited by family to visit her in the hospital, Raheem often brings sweet treats she enjoys to assist her recovery. Their story brings to mind the parable of the Good Samaritan. The parable is Jesus’ reply to an expert’s question on what he must do to inherit eternal life. Do “what is written in the law,” Jesus said (Luke 10:26), including “love your neighbor as yourself” (v. 27). But the expert persisted, asking, “Who is my neighbor?” (v. 29). Christ’s answer describes a man attacked by robbers, left half dead, and then ignored by two people—a priest and a Levite—who passed him by. “But a Samaritan . . . took pity on him” (v. 33), bandaged his wounds, and took care of him. Seeing the hurting man in need, the Samaritan’s help was active, urgent, and without bias—looking past race or creed to assist someone he could’ve ignored. Thus, Jesus asked, which of these three was a neighbor to the man? “The one who had mercy on him,” the expert said. Said Jesus, “Go and do likewise” (v. 37). In Christ, we too can find the compassion to help a hurting person instead of passing by. It’s a lesson for all in sharing Jesus’ love.
