We left off last time with Mel at the end of her radiology treatment and at the beginning of her scar tissue release work, not knowing the next part of her story. We have so much we wanted to include in this episode that I've tried not to ask too many questions of Mel. However, Mel will be teaching an online class for Pilates Foundation members on Sunday 18th September specific to her experience with breast cancer and Pilates. You will be able to book that through the Pilates foundation website shortly. We'd love you to join us and of course will offer a Q&A session. If you're unable to make that date, please do email me at cat.proudfoot@pilatesfoundation.com and I can ensure we ask Mel your questions for you to catch up on on the recording. I just wanted to mention that we do discuss surgery and injections, and although we don't go into great detail, you may wish to know that this will come up. We have got a bit of a Summer Special coming your way. During one of our recent book clubs, we were discussing The Living Wetsuit by Sue Adstrum, and talking about the connective tissue in our body and how scar tissue affects and changes its function and movement. Some of us on the call that evening had never (touchwood) had any surgery or injury to cause such scarring, but one of our attendees had. Mel Coupland who I will be talking to shortly has been through a lot . And in talking, we came to discuss a little about her Breast Cancer story. We are so privileged that Mel has been willing to share this story with us, to give us all a bit of an idea of what clients with breast cancer may be going through, what to perhaps expect ourselves should we ever find ourselves, or someone we know, in this situation, and most of all, to talk and share the awareness and a little knowledge of what that world may look like. We wanted to go into detail with this recording, so this show is split into two, maybe even three. And Mel has been so kind as to offer a movement class following on from this podcast come September. We'll share more about that with you soon.
