When four University of Idaho students were stabbed to death in their off-campus house on King Road, the media descended on the tiny town of Moscow, Idaho. ABC News Correspondent Kayna Whitworth brings listeners behind the scenes as she investigates the savage murders that captivated and horrified the nation in the winter of 2022. The King Road Killings, an immersive, reported series from ABC Audio, follows the case against Bryan Kohberger, the criminology PhD student charged with the murders. In the series, Whitworth takes a close look at why these students might have been targeted, how fear can grip a town when little information comes from law enforcement, and what happens when your community becomes the latest “true crime” storyline. A five-part narrative series, plus special update episodes as new information comes to light. Look for Season 2 at the start of the trial.

The King Road Killings: An Idaho Murder Mystery podcast is an incredibly informative and captivating podcast that delves into the details of a tragic crime. As someone who was not initially interested in true crime, I stumbled upon this podcast and was pleasantly surprised by how well it was done. The creator has clearly put a lot of effort into researching and fact-checking, ensuring that the information presented is accurate and reliable. The respectful approach taken towards the victims and their families is commendable, as it adds depth and humanity to the narrative.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is its thoroughness and organization. The information presented is consolidated and well-structured, making it easy to follow along with the story. It stands out from other true crime podcasts in its commitment to presenting factual information rather than sensationalizing or fabricating stories for entertainment purposes. The pacing of each episode is perfect, keeping listeners engaged without feeling rushed or slow.

However, one possible downside to this podcast is that if you are already familiar with the case or have been following it closely, there may not be much new information for you. While the podcast does present some new interviews and behind-the-scenes insights, it primarily focuses on consolidating existing data rather than providing groundbreaking revelations. Nevertheless, the compassionate approach taken towards storytelling makes up for any lack of new information.

In conclusion, The King Road Killings: An Idaho Murder Mystery podcast is an exceptionally well-done true crime podcast that provides a comprehensive and respectful account of a tragic crime. Its focus on facts, integrity, and empathy sets it apart from other podcasts in the genre. Whether you are new to true crime or a seasoned listener, this podcast is definitely worth checking out for its informative yet compassionate storytelling style. I eagerly anticipate future episodes and hope that there will be more content from this talented creator in the future.

What was Bryan Kohberger's life like before he was charged with these murders? People who knew him in his teenage years, in college, and right before he was arrested last December offer conflicting narratives. There's the Kohberger who helps save a colleague's life and the Kohberger who makes other coworkers feel uncomfortable, even fearful. There's the Kohberger who succeeds in school, is passionate about his classes, and impresses his professors. Then there's the Kohberger who clashes with people in his criminology graduate program and loses his teaching job. We piece together a portrait of the man who will go on trial this fall for the King Road killings, and if convicted, could face the death penalty.    Learn more about your ad choices.
