In this 88-minute reunion episode of Off the Screen, the full crew (Jordon, Alejandro Olivo, Michael Brunache, and Sid) is back together after a month-long hiatus. They kick off discussing the massive TV ratings for the NBA Conference Finals, sparking a hilarious rant about soaring streaming costs, Netflix password crackdowns, and unskippable YouTube ads. Once settled, the guys celebrate the San Antonio Spurs punching their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time in 12 years. This triggers a heated, analytic-heavy debate over award season—specifically Jordon's passionate defense of Scottie Barnes' All-Defensive First Team snub and whether a Sixth Man should ever win MVP. The second half shifts to culture and tech. The crew tears apart awful product designs (like the electric Ferrari and Apple's bottom-charging Magic Mouse) and laughs over a viral, AI-generated Nike ad featuring Victor Wembanyama and elite, ankle-breaking nuns. Finally, they put on their historian hats to break down the legends behind the NBA's redesigned trophies and fact-check Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's true MVP numbers.00:00:00 — The Squad Reunites The crew welcomes everyone back from the "injury reserve" after a month away and jokes about who the most reliable host is. 00:01:24 — The Streaming Crisis & Ad Apocalypse High NBA ratings spark a debate on streaming bundles, rising subscription prices, and why paying to watch unskippable ads feels like a scam. 00:07:20 — Texas Bound: The Spurs' Finals Return Recapping the West as San Antonio clinches a Finals spot for the first time in over a decade. Plus, a look at retro court aesthetics. 00:09:14 — Award Season Theft & Jordon's Rant Jordon goes on an absolute tear about Scottie Barnes being snubbed from All-Defense First Team, leading into a debate on SGA's true MVP value. 00:16:32 — Sneaker Culture & The Steph Curry Blueprint Jordon compares his pickup game to Steph, transitioning into a talk on overseas sneaker deals and D-Wade's massive $400M lifetime bag. 00:21:47 — AI Hoops: The Fake Wembanyama Nike Ad Alejandro gets completely fooled by a viral, AI-generated commercial featuring Victor Wembanyama, real hooping nuns, and a cameo by the Pope. 00:23:54 — Design Disasters: Ferraris & Magic Mice A sharp turn into terrible product engineering, comparing the new electric Ferrari's look to the tragedy of Apple's bottom-charging mouse. 00:27:55 — Redesigning History: Trophy Hardware The guys break down the legends behind the NBA's new trophies, questioning why the 1960s Celtics dominate the hardware namesakes. 00:35:10 — The MVP Stat Check: MJ vs. Kareem Pulling up the history books to settle a debate on how many MVPs Kareem and Jordan actually won, analyzing how voter fatigue shifted history. 00:44:15 — The Knicks' Outlook & Eastern RealitiesShifting to the East. The guys discuss building a sustainable contender in New York and the immense pressure of playing at Madison Square Garden.00:56:40 — Unethical Hoops & Media NarrativesA deep dive into how media shapes player reputations and why "unethical," foul-baited styles of play get rewarded by modern refs.01:08:15 — Off-Season Blueprint & Trade RumorsLooking ahead to the draft lottery, potential blockbuster summer trades, and pinpointing which teams are just one piece away from a deep run.01:18:30 — Mailbag Questions & Quick TakesThe guys answer listener questions, covering everything from their favorite basketball movies of all time to upcoming summer sneaker releases.01:25:45 — Outro & Finals PredictionsFinal predictions for the upcoming championship series, locking in bets, and a promise not to take another month-long hiatus.

Is Celtic's current model sustainable, or is the real problem rooted at the very top of the club? In today's live stream, the ACSOM panel dives deep into the principal shareholder's continuous grip on Celtic FC, exploring why a total structural "hard reset" is drastically needed ahead of the massive summer rebuild. With reports confirming that crucial manager talks between Dermot Desmond and interim boss Martin O'Neill have been pushed back - alongside delayed interviews with other candidates in London - the Celtic board is facing major backlash from a fanbase demanded to renew season tickets amidst ongoing administrative limbo. Despite securing a dramatic Premiership and Scottish Cup double, Celtic's campaign was riddled with operational issues, prompting serious questions over who is steering the ship. We discuss:

There are moments in this work when you sit across from someone and realize you're not just talking to a lawyer. You're talking to a son. A keeper. A man who has spent his entire adult life making sure that what happened in Greenwood — and what Greenwood actually was before they burned it down — is never forgotten and never left unanswered. This week, we're joined by civil rights attorney, author, and Justice for Greenwood Foundation executive director Damario Solomon-Simmons. His first book, Redeem a Nation: The Century-Long Battle to Restore the Soul of America, just dropped — and it is a history, a legal thriller, and a blueprint all at once.We talked about what it felt like to knock on Mother Lessie Benningfield Randle's door at 106 years old and ask her to run toward justice one more time. We talked about Greenwood as a love story. We talked about exhaustion, rest as a revolutionary act, and what it means to keep fighting when the courts keep saying no. And Damario left us with a name we all need to know: Hal Singer — a survivor, a musician, a man on hospice who still wanted to fight — whose words became the foundation of the Justice for Greenwood program.Get the book. In today's episode of A Celtic State of Mind, we break down the growing "Anyone but Celtic" narrative across the SPFL. From questionable refereeing decisions and media bias to the relentless pressure from rivals, we explore exactly why Celtic remains the ultimate target in Scottish football - and why our club stands entirely on its own. Paul John Dykes and the team dive deep into the latest Celtic news, tactical breakdowns, and look ahead to the next massive fixture that could bag us a double.
In our final episode of the series, Brooke and Chad sit down with the woman whose words started it all: Mavis Karn. You may not have known her name, but chances are you've felt the truth in her words: "My state of mind is the most important thing to me." That simple statement became the heartbeat of this entire series. And now, Mavis is here to tell us what she really meant. She starts with a story almost every woman has lived: the quiet, relentless habit of making sure everyone else is okay before even thinking about yourself. It's woven into how many of us were raised, how we love, how we show up. Then, Mavis takes us somewhere unexpected: an airplane. We've all heard it. "Adjust your own oxygen mask before assisting your child." Mavis heard it too, and as a mother, her first instinct was the same as yours probably would be; however, then came the line that stopped her cold: "If you're unconscious, you cannot help your child." It sounds simple. It is simple. And yet it changes everything. Because what's true at 30,000 feet is true everywhere. If your state of mind is depleted, if *you* are running on empty, if your own wellbeing keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list, how can you truly show up for the people who need you most? This is the conversation we've been building toward this series. Don't miss it.
Welcome back to ACSOM, the multi-award-winning podcast with A Celtic State of Mind! In today's live stream, we are breaking down the massive fallout surrounding Celtic's historic, title-winning 3-1 victory over Hearts at Celtic Park. While the Hoops secured a monumental fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership championship success, the post-match headlines have been completely dominated by the chaotic final whistle scenes. In this stream, Paul John Dykes and the panel dive deep into the media narrative, the official club statements, and the intense fan debates. Why is Celtic's pitch invasion being heavily branded as "intimidatory" rather than a joyful, traditional title celebration? We dissect all angles of the incident, including:
Zohran Mamdani referenced Ronald Reagan’s famous line: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.” Mamdani argued that a more frightening reality: “I think nine more terrifying words are actually, I worked all day and can’t feed my family.” He used that to argue that government should step in to help with affordability. Legacy and Historical Context • Old Dominion dominated women's basketball through strong administrative support and Marianne Stanley's competitive vision brought from Immaculata's dynasty era • ODU won 2 AIAW championships with players like Anne Donovan, Amos, and Nancy Lieberman, establishing the program as a national powerhouse • The NCAA filed a lawsuit against Title IX implementation, creating animosity that persists today—NCAA still doesn't recognize AIAW championships • UCLA's Corey Close corrected announcers this year, insisting their 2024 title was their second national championship, not first • ODU served as the bridge passing the torch to Tennessee after Marianne Stanley left to start over at USC, then eventually to UConn
First, I'm surely not saying that what you are or are not eating doesn't matter. But after a decade of my own involvement in functional medicine, I see the biggest culprit for gut and digestion issues to be our minds more than anything else. I continue to meet people who are doing “all the right things,” eating clean, taking all the great supplements, exercising, getting good sleep, and they are still dealing with gut and digestive discomfort. I was the same. And I don't have a magic solution like meditating or something for the mind. But I'm concerned that the normal lifestyle of busyness and fast paced and constant stimulation is going to overpower all your other efforts. So a few years ago I sat down with Dr Will Cole. I became aware of Dr Cole through Gwyneth Paltrow, as he is her functional medicine doctor and one of the providers in her Goop wellness and lifestyle brand and company. Will has admittedly become the health and wellness resource for a lot of influential people and if you visit his IG page with over 800k followers you'll see many people you recognize. Will has a book called, Gut Feelings: Healing the Shame-Fueled Relationship Between What You Eat and How You Feel, and it gets more into the philosophy of our wellness than just clinical, prescriptive aspects. Which to me is the foundation. Your health and wellness will ultimately be a result of your own philosophy on health and wellness. Will actually coined the term, “Shameflammation”, which I encourage you to listen into. I find that shame is a reality with most men, and one they are ignorant of and prone to avoid even looking into.
