So in an attempt to get better at stand up I took a page from a few of my favorite comedians and tried doing a podcast by myself. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I definitely need to get used to it but I'll be doing these more regularly in hopes of generating topics and things to write about. Feel free to give it a listen and I hope it makes you laugh. Please leave me some feedback and let me know what you think.
previously when we had Mike Bobbitt on the show at the end of the episode when Mike is telling a rather interesting story involving himself, Dave Landau an audience and a gun the podcast cut off. I didn't realize that my card was full when we were recording and I apologize. How ever it ended up being a blessing in disguise, because of this I was able to get not only Mike back into to tell the story but have Dave Landau in to tell his side as well. Listen in as these to share some amazing road stories and reminisce as I listen along intently. I'm a guest on this episode as I think I only said two things because I never wanted to slow down any of the conversation.
Listen in as I interview one of my all time favorite comedians and try to learn as much as I can from him. However the times have changed since he's been doing stand up I was still able to learn a lot about determination, drive and work ethic. This is a great interview with an emphasis on stand up but also touches a little on everything Tommy has his hands in now. I was a little nervous during the interview but you can hear that I get a little more comfortable towards the end. I hope you guys like it as this was a dream come true for me! Tommy is an autobiographical story telling comedian who is a favorite at comedy clubs all across the country. TV credits include: Seven appearances on “The Late Show” with David Letterman, Two appearances on Conan. Two half-hour specials on Comedy Central, Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and, “John Oliver’s New York Stand-up Show”. In 2010 he finished 2nd on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Listen in as I sit down with fellow comic, guest, friend and fan of the show Dustin Burwell. Dustin is a peer and one of my better friends in comedy. He's an all around good guy who works insanely hard to pursue this dream while supporting a family and putting on monthly shows at Tecumseh Brewing Co, which I will be headlining on August 18th.
Listen is as I have Steve Hansen and Billy Reno in to talk about an upcoming show will be doing together to benefit the Animal Welfare Society of South Eastern Michigan. In this episode we talk shop about comedy, share some stories about running shows and learn a little bit about each others background. I hope you enjoy the episode and more importantly I hope you come out Next Friday, June 8th to Sterling Lanes in Sterling Heights MI to watch some live comedy and support this great organization. Tickets available at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3403305
Listen in as I sit down with Al Ducharme and learn about his past and present in stand up and how he became the national headliner he is today. In the start of his career Al would often hit the road with the likes of Bill Burr and Louie CK but it wasn’t all laughs and fun. He had trouble keeping a job as a private investigator while perusing his dream.
Listen in as I sit down with my friend and competitive body builder Josh Weaver. I've always been inspired by this guy's drive and dedication, ever since I've known him he's been pushing and striving to reach the same goal.
Listen in as I chat with Brandon Young, the creator of the Paul Bunyan Comedy festival. Brandon Young is a family-friendly comedian based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan who's been able to use a wide variety of topics ranging from growing up in a small town with his weird family to drinking fountains at restaurants and why he despises people who dip french fries into milkshakes, to reach a vast array of people. His intelligently crafted material is a hit with all types of audiences. In May 2009, Brandon founded the Rock Comedy Ministry, arguably the first comedy ministry of its kind in the world, at the Rock Church in San Diego. Using a mixture of stand-up, sketch comedy, and improv, the Rock Comedy Ministry has been able to bring laughter to people who wouldn't otherwise receive it such as the homeless, elderly in convalescent homes, and cancer patients. Brandon specifically has performed for churches and other organizations and has been a part of fundraisers that have raised thousands of dollars for global missionaries, victims of domestic violence, and victims of human trafficking among others. Originally from a small town in Michigan called Oscoda, Brandon is middle-aged, middle-classed, married to a woman way out of his league, has no kids, and owns a dog. Basically, his life is that of every leading man in every sitcom from the 1960's. He brings his Midwest charm and likability to a world that truly needs it.
Listen in as we sit down and talk comedy, Hollywood and screen writing with Mike Bobbitt. Michigan native, Mike Bobbitt is back from Los Angeles and working on his fourth hour of stand up comedy. In this episode I sit down with Dave Landau. A Michigan native comic who's an inspiration to every local comedian. Working the road nonstop since his 21st birthday, Dave Landau has grown into a true comedic juggernaut. He's appeared on Comedy Central's "Live At Gotham" as well as being featured prominently on two consecutive seasons of NBC's "Last Comic Standing." He's become a regular on the nationally-syndicated "Bob & Tom" radio show, and was honored as one of the top 21 club comics of today at HBO's Las Vegas Comedy Festival. In this episode I sit down with Esther Nevarez a crazy talented local comedian whom I've had the pleasure of working with countless times. I recorded this episode with the intention of uploading it the day of the Star Wars Movie Premiere Showcase. As it is now January 10th I think it's safe to safe I missed my mark, by like 27 days. It is how ever no shocker that Esther had an amazing set the day of the show and that we received lots of requests to have her back on future events. Listen in as I talk to her about her start, past and present in stand up comedy and everything in between.
In this episode I sit down with Mark Ridley, well we sit down but 1,3908 miles apart. Mark was in Florida during the this interview but I was still lucky enough to have the opportunity to speak with him over the phone. Mark is the owner of Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak MI. He has also played a major roll in the world of comedy. Not just from running one of the best comedy clubs in america but he's also changed the structure and format of traditional comedy shows. If you go to any comedy club you'll see Marks idea and vision in action. Listen in to find out what I'm referring to.
In this episode I sit down with Jim Elliot & Justin O'Leary to discuss comedy. Listen in as we talk about starting out in stand up. He has performed all over Michigan at premiere venues such as LaughFest, Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase, The Comedy Shrine, Big Tommy’s Comedy Club, and the Holly Hotel. Jim verbally paints pictures of the obscure everyday life of the American male going through a quarter-life crisis with animated characters, and plenty of wit.
Listen in as I sit down with Brett Mercer while driving to and from a show, talking about our favorite local comedian's bits and the Detroit comedy scene. From the city of Detroit, MI, Brett Mercer delivers a unique brand of off-beat comedy that toes the line between observational and irreverent. His quick wit, improvisational tone, and meticulously crafted word puzzles create absurd vignettes that catch audiences off guard by playing on expectations, and re-imagining conventions. Brett has shared the stage with Johnny Pembrton, Josh Fadem, Paul F. Tompkins, Luis J Gomez and Andy Kindler. Co-Producer of Detroit Comedy Underground, Chuckie Finster, Prankis, and Comedy Night at GhostLight co-host of the Big Time Garbage podcast

Listen in as I sit down with Michigan native Adam Degi and every Kalamazoo comic ever. Adam got his start in Grand Rapids, MI. He's done everything from hosting a game show and performing stand up at colleges as well as taking his act to clubs and festivals around the country. He won the Funniest Person in Grand Rapids Competition in 2009 and was in the Semi - Finals of the Comedy 10K in 2014 as well as being featured on the Cover of Revue magazine. His strangely endearing personality and ability to riff, rant and improvise sets him apart and makes every show unique. With an unapologetic, outspoken, unfiltered and often unscripted act it's difficult to tell when he's telling a joke or just getting something off his chest. Adam Degi is anything but predictable and when he has a microphone in his hand you never know what might happen so grab a seat and pay attention! His debut Album "His Name Is My Name Too was released in Sept, 2017. He once got a standing ovation from the Harlem Globetrotters. One day he'd like to be black and entertain the world. This episode is all over the place as it was recorded during a live show. I even step away during the recording to perform and leave all of the microphones unattended with a slew of comics. I leave around the 1:30:00 minuet mark. It's there that the interview with Adam ends unofficially. Feel free to keep listening and experience what it's like to be in the green room with a bunch of comics during a show. Notable mentions are Jason Alt, Tony Klee, John Campbell, and Bart Dangus.
