Twolegs Talk Warriors! The #1 premiere podcast about Erin Hunter's Warrior Cats series. Brought to you by 2 nerds who have too much time on their hands.
Thomas dies from laughing too hard at himself, reveals he knows how to determine which print run your book is from, and is generally bad at remembering things. Cora, as usual, is completely on top of things. We are also interrupted by gerbils.
Welcome back kitty-cats to a special holiday episode of Twolegs Talk Warriors! (lol not really) In this episode we discuss sibling rivalries, the effect of roadtrips on relationships, and whether or not cats can get MRSA from staying at the hospital for too long (yes they totally can I will fight you Cora). Also, Firestar is dumb again, Lionblaze fights a tree, and Thomas is convinced to start using the Sandstorm bit again! We'll see you again in the new year!
Well guys, we finally made it. The first Warrior Cats book that actually has a plot, sets up a multiple book/arc storyline, and still manages to introduce beavers as "brown furry animals." This book truly does it all. In other news, Dovepaw has ruined our foreshadowing segment, Thomas read ahead this week, and we managed to keep our recording to under 2 hours! Prizes for everyone!
We CANNOT overestimate how much of this book was page filler you guys. It's ridiculous. Sorry we're a bit late on this one! Blame Thomas! We should be back to our regularly scheduled programming next week! We also forgot to do our socials, so as always, feel free to reach out to us at @tltwpodcast or tltwpodcast@gmail.com!
Well folks, we may not be funny, but at least we're consistent now! Tune in this week for a discussion of cat metaphysics, several missed segment opportunities, and your hosts glossing over several batshit crazy things in a row (another firestar death, time travel, etc.). Clearly we've been at this for far too long and have lost all sense of normalcy.
As previously established, we're terrible at comedy, so CLEARLY we couldn't pass up the obvious joke for this one. Surprisingly, we liked it! Still not sure what Hollypaw's superpower is supposed to be though; having morals isn't exactly an exciting power. Tune in next episode for even more confusion!
That's right folks, Spottedleaf's not even in this one and Thomas's horrific Mickey/Goofy impression makes an appearance anyway! Despite this, Cora manages to make it through the entire episode without strangling him, and they even get in a brief discussion of the actual book. Look out for 2 new segments, and a guest appearance by the gerbils. Links mentioned in this episode: According to Warriors Wiki Gerbil Thumping
Sorry for the background noise this week! We had a Kenmore single room window unit air conditioner running in the background so we wouldn't die of heat stroke. Our intrepid protagonists get up to their usual antics this week, including spelunking, stick diving, and betraying the trust of your friends and family in order to see that one girl you like who lives across town. Jaypaw's still blind, Hollypaw is still a nosy busybody, and Lionpaw is being haunted by the ghosts of his evil grandfather and nephew. No way this can turn south! Will our heroes make it out alive??? Find out this week on... Twolegs Talk Warriors!
We still had one of these kicking around in the vault, so enjoy during this off week! We will likely be continuing with our every 2 week schedule for regular releases going forward (literally 0 promises though).
Welcome back kitty cats! The long summer of our discontent is over and Cora and I have time in our lives again! Also I mostly got over the minor AD/HD brain that wasn't letting me finish this edit. Hopefully this will be the start of Season 2 (an executive decision I'm making as I'm writing this description) and you'll have significantly more cat-related sarcasm in your lives this fall. Enjoy the show!
We're still around, I promise! There's going to be a new full length episode coming out next week! See you then kitty-cats!
Woo boy folks. This was a rough one. We've got not one, but TWO musical references for you this week, discussion of just how bad the names really are, answers to what YOU should do if you find a 10 year old child with a broken arm in a ravine, and the most thrilling will they/won't they love story since Leafpool and Crowfeather. ....and the absolute WILDEST ENDING that Erin Hunter has ever written. Buckle up, it's going to be a wild ride. Also, lucky for you, we finally talk about what our new release schedule is going to be like!
We are tentatively scheduled to do our next record next weekend, so look forward to the next full episode a week from today! It's another Super Edition and boy howdy was it a doozy. Have a good weekend kitty cats!
We're back with another short blooper reel for you this week!
We're back kitty cats! To tide you over until our next full episode, there will be a couple different outtake episodes for the next 2-3 weeks! Have fun!
I finally finished editing this episode kitty cats! So here it is, the finale of the second sub-series, only 2 months late! Cora and I are both still super busy, so this will be the last full episode for a bit, and we're probably going to change up our release schedule a little bit going forward, but rest assured there will be more episodes on their way soon! In the interim, I'm going to try and cut together a couple of minisodes to tide you over.
WHOOPS. The kicker for this one is that I actually finished editing it like, a month ago and just totally forgot to upload it >.
Hey, remember when we thought this was the book that was going to be the journey to their new home? Neither do we! Good news for everyone who hated Thomas's 'jokes' about a fire destroying Thunderclan's camp (i.e. everyone who listens to this show): Now is the winter of our discontent/Made glorious summer by this sun of the cats not living in the same place anymore. Whoopee.
Well folks, it finally happened. The roadtrip books are over. Unless we're counting like, half of the super editions, most of the novellas, and probably some of the manga as well. This week, stay tuned for both of us finishing our first drinks way too fast, extremely good musical backing, and extreme indecision from Thomas, as usual.
It's a segment light week this week kittycats! We accidentally skipped recording for like 3 weeks and completely forgot how to podcast. The upside for you is that you only have to sit through 45 minutes of us being bad at comedy, instead of 2 hours.
Hey, I hope all of y'all enjoyed listening to an hour of roadtrip recap, because guess what - it happened again (and spoilers - continues to happen for like the next 18 books). Frodo and the gang assemble after the usual 50-100 pages of no communication that apparently drives all of the plot in these books. The fellowship meet up with Golum waaaaaay earlier than I remember, and get as far as Lothlorien, but get told they gotta scram as soon as they talk to Galadriel. What will happen next week???? Also, Cora and I just completely forget the entirety of the format of this show that we've been doing for two months now, but at least there's a new and improved theme song?
Welcome to our first Super Edition episode! Somehow, even though the book is twice as long as usual, this was our shortest record so far. Once again, your fun, whimsical host is taking this week off from writing the description, so you're stuck with the dumb half of the show again. Watch out for dreams about Skyclan!
Sorry this one's late listeners! Cora decided to take last week off for this one so you're stuck with the dumb half of the show writing the episode description. Also I forgot to upload last week. Tigerclaw's back and worse than ever this week, and to make things worse, Bluestar's gone off the deep end. Fireheart's stupid, Sandstorm's around I guess, and we might finally be up to a full clan's worth of dead cats! In case you've been reading our descriptions and have caught on to the theme, just pretend this whole thing was a spoof of the 5th Percy Jackson book.
Fireheart is Head Boy now, and stuff is going crazy at the school! The headmistress is getting weirder and weirder, and it seems like some of her recent potions experiments may have permanently affected her brain. The first year, Cloudpaw, has to drop muggle studies or he’ll be kicked out of school, and Fireheart starts noticing that one witch is kind of cute, and she kind of makes his paws tingle when he watches her leave. Cora gives a lecture on how to pronounce some common cat charms, Thomas gives an astronomy lecture, and Slytherin gets an ominous new head of house. Next week, the house cup hangs in the balance, Greystripe lobbies the headmistress to let him switch back into Gryffindor house, and it seems like maybe there is something weird going on in the Forbidden forest.
Fireheart travels from India to ThunderThwaite manor, and he feels like he’ll never fit in! Luckily, the gardener’s son Greystripe is friendly, and agrees to teach him about the natural world of England’s countryside. When they aren’t murdering small animals, they find a secret garden on the Manor grounds. And Fireheart meets Silverstream, a bed-ridden girl who’s been locked in the Riverside wing of the manor. When Greystripe meets her, it’s love at first sight. They bring her to the secret garden where she regains her strength and learns she can walk. Just in time for Greystripe to impregnate her. . . This metaphor has really gotten out of hand.In other news: Christopher Walken is lurking around the garden, Fireheart’s education in colonial India was insufficient (AKA he is an idiot), Cloudkit is a thing; and I couldn’t work Bluestar, Tigerclaw, or Yellowfang into this book plot!
This week on Twolegs Talk Game of Thrones, Winter is Coming. As the Starks brace for the oncoming storm, Jon goes on patrol and brings the Wildlings back to stay at Castle Black; Robb falls in love with a girl from across the river and gets absurdly serious really fast, putting all of the North in danger. Arya doesn’t follow directions and is badly injured because of it, and the Starks (as usual) aren’t good at figuring out who is going to betray them. We visit the Maesters for several different science corners and Thomas’s pun game really heats up! Next week on the podcast, we’ll return to Daenerys’ attempts to conquer Essos and the alliance between the Lannisters and the Tullys.
It’s been self-described as the premier Warrior Cats podcast, but when it comes down to it Cora’s never read them, and Thomas doesn’t exactly have perfect recall. There are so many things we are going to talk about later, and we just. can’t. handle. these names! Warnings for swearing, blasphemy (but not against StarClan), and a brief discussion of “the cutter”. The book opens with Firepaw abandoning the only family he’s ever known to go live with some cats that just tried to beat him up (it turns out they only like him because of the color of his fur), and it just gets worse from there. He commits small-animal murder with glee, is bad at following the rules and suffers considerable bullying because he agreed to leave his home to hang with these cats in the first place. Will the suffering never end? Apparently not, because there are five more books in this series alone.
