I'm toiling away today, bagging trash and wiping down the windows while I process these signals. This morning I woke up and the first pass was done, but I'll need to let the system do its thing two more times before I can package the data up and ship it off. I think it's at 78% or something at this point, but it won't be done until dinner time at the earliest and by that point I'll need to decide between eating a bag of chips again or trying my luck on the shrimp that was in the fridge when I got here. Just gotta get into a routine, man. Just gotta hit 100%.Discussed: Halloween names, rolling dice, Kiss/Off, Voices of the Void, The Séance of Blake Manor, good examples of detective games, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Happy Halloween!Find us everywhere: https://intothecast.onlineBuy some merch, if you'd like: https://shop.intothecast.onlineJoin the Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/intothecast---Follow Stephen Hilger: https://bsky.app/profile/stephenhilger.bsky.social Follow Brendon Bigley: https://bsky.app/profile/bb.wavelengths.onlineProduced by AJ Fillari: https://bsky.app/profile/ajfillari.bsky.social---Season 8 cover art by Scout Wilkinson: https://scoutwilkinson.myportfolio.com/Theme song by Will LaPorte: https://ghostdown.online/---Timecodes:(00:00) - Intro (02:24) - Kiss/Off | Screamin' 3vies wild ride (12:52) - Another roll (13:33) - Voices of the Void | Boorendon Twogley (31:18) - Break (31:20) - Star Wars and Twilight (31:53) - The Séance of Blake Manor | A 50/50 chance (42:25) - Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc | A secret bridge game (01:00:33) - Wrapping up ---Thanks to all of our amazing patrons, including our Eternal Gratitude members:J-RockSamantha DNorth HeroSam HSnzznBertitoJ-RockGregory Mark SCmndr BiscuiticemanChristian HRydan BCaleb HArden FEye of the DuckKaleNathan EJ. The Darkside Detective games are two of the most loved adventure games released in the last two decades or so and Spooky doorway were kind enough to join Seoirse to talk about the reaction to those games and why they feel the games mean so much to people. They also spoke a little about what to expect from their upcoming game The Seance of Blake Manor which is a more serious take on the supernatural. They spoke about why the decided to make a more serious game, what parts of Irish culture and mythology we can expect and what inspirations they received with the art style. All that and much more! TRIGGER WARNING: This episode discusses sexual abuse, physical violence, and torture. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to McKamey Manor, the so-called “haunted house” turned torture chamber that doesn't believe in safe words. This isn't your average Halloween attraction with rubber masks and jump scares. McKamey Manor is a real-life psychological nightmare, an "extreme haunt" where participants are bound, gagged, waterboarded, shaved, abused, assaulted, and buried alive, all for the false promise of a $20,000 prize. Founded by Russ McKamey, a sadistic showman with a camera and a God complex, the Manor isn't about fear for fun; it's about control, humiliation, and pain. What masquerades as thrill-seeking quickly devolves into torture porn, all under the guise of consent. In this episode, we're pulling back the curtain on one of the most disturbing “entertainment experiences” ever created, the cult-like following that has amassed, the twisted mind behind it, and the shattered participants left in its wake. Host Margaret McSweeney takes us to the Oxfordshire countryside to Estelle Manor, one of the "hottest" destinations in England. Originally built in 1780 in Georgian style and rebuilt in 1908 in Jacobean style, Estelle Manor sits on 85 acres and is surrounded by 3,000 acres of parklands and gardens. In 2023, Ennismore opened this beautiful property as a private club and hotel. The kitchen gardens provide a bountiful and beautiful harvest of greens for the salads at the Glass House, one of the hotel's restaurants. Margaret enjoyed chatting with one of the chefs who was collecting the day's harvest from the gardener. The Potting Shed is the perfect place for a morning latte and pastries amongst the lush plants throughout the interior. Margaret's friend May and her dogs, Lulu and George joined her for this stay. They enjoyed a delicious lunch in the private library and dinner at Brasserie. Margaret especially enjoyed booking the Thermal Journey at the Eynsham Baths, an oasis of relaxation at Estelle Manor. This experience included exclusive access to the Tea Lounge where a tea master prepared a special blend for her. She purchased some tea to continue her wellness journey in Chicago. Please click here for additional information about Estelle Manor. https://estellemanor.com/. ✅ Be sure and visit Kitchencaht.info for photos of this amazing property. Savor the day! We spent an intense night walking the halls of the old funeral home, running a full suite of equipment and following up on local stories. This investigation brought forward multiple moments that made us stop, listen, and double-check our recordings. Early in the night we experienced pronounced cold spots in several rooms — sudden drops in temperature that were captured by our thermal sensors and felt physically by both investigators. Those drops coincided with EVP sessions where clear, specific names came through our equipment. When we played back recordings we heard distinct syllables and phrasing that matched names mentioned during the interview with the owner, creating a powerful validation loop between eyewitness accounts and instrument readings. Our gear included digital recorders, EMF meters, a thermal camera, and a spirit box. The spirit box produced rapid, short fragments that seemed to answer direct questions, and our recorders captured low-frequency tones and whispered responses that weren't present during normal ambient checks. At one point, a steady EMF spike localized to a single corner of a parlor room while both investigators felt an immediate chill. We discuss how we cross-checked those readings to rule out environmental causes. Perhaps the most compelling portion of the episode is our sit-down with the owner of Mortuary Manor. They shared family history connected to the building, strange anecdotes about items moving, doors opening, and nights when staff refused to remain alone. The owner's recollections gave context to names we heard on the equipment and helped us make sense of the patterns of activity in different wings of the manor. Their candid interview appears in full in this episode and is, frankly, a highlight. Throughout the show we break down the evidence, explain our protocols, and walk listeners through the methods we used to validate questionable sounds and temperature anomalies. We also share the emotional response of the team — moments of exhilaration, fear, and awe — and reflect on how investigations like this test both technique and nerves. If you're fascinated by places with dark histories, or you love methodical investigations that pair sensory experience with scientific tools, this episode is for you. West Hill Manor in Burlington, New Jersey, is a historic treasure—one built between 1797 and 1799 in rare Federal style. But this stately home is more than a museum of early American architecture—it's a place where history refuses to stay silent. Psychic medium and paranormal investigator Beth O'Brien joins us on The Grave Talks to share what she's experienced while volunteering at West Hill. A passionate advocate for its preservation, Beth has seen and felt things most visitors never do—things that suggest the spirits of West Hill are still very much present. Within its walls, the cries of Susanna Emlen may still linger. She underwent one of the earliest known breast cancer surgeries in the United States—performed without anesthesia—and survived. Many believe she never truly left the room where it happened. Then there's Eliza Gurney, the manor's second owner, whose deep friendship with President Abraham Lincoln left such an impression that one of her letters was allegedly found in his coat the night of his assassination. But beyond the historical intrigue, modern paranormal reports make it clear—West Hill is more than a relic. Disembodied voices, phantom footsteps, unexplained touches, and even the sound of gunfire echo through the halls, suggesting something unseen remains active within. Beth O'Brien takes us deep inside the spiritual heartbeat of the house—and why it continues to mystify everyone who steps inside. This is Part Two of our conversation.
