So I'm just gonna preface this episode and say that I did not wanna come on here talking about this, but God has been putting this on my heart for the past few months to speak out about the struggles that I've faced. I know that other people are dealing with these same struggles or have dealt with these struggles and I know that I just have to walk in obedience. I have to just do what God's called me to do. He's been putting it on my heart to be honest, open up, and make this episode, and I know he's gonna put the right people in front of this episode and some chains will be broken, some strongholds will be broken in the name of Jesus Christ. I just have to be a vessel for his work So in today's episode, we will go into lust, pornography, and struggles that I've faced. Do you hear the drum roll? We are on Rule #10 of House Rules by Jacob Hudgins! Today, Kate and Sheila recap… Just Because You're Angry Doesn't Mean You're Right. Jacob starts with Cain, his anger was misinformed and misdirected. God told him, “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at your door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.” Genesis 4:6-7 Cain doesn't listen to God. He kills his brother, seeking a ‘permanent solution for a temporary problem.' Anger clouds our judgment, like alcohol, it lowers our inhibitions. What we are doing feels right and appropriate. Remember the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, who was filled with fury when 3 Jewish guys dared to defy him? He orders the fiery furnace to be heated seven times hotter than normal, does this make sense? When we are angry we don't seem to notice that our reasoning is impaired. When Jonah was angry at God for saving the people of Nineveh, God asked him, “Do you do well to be angry?” What a great clarifying question! Are you ready for a solution? House Rules refers us to James 1:19-20. The tone of Christian homes should reflect James' powerful advice: Be quick to hear (we must learn to listen) Be slow to speak (anger can often alert us to character weaknesses within ourselves) Be slow to anger (the anger of men does not produce the righteousness of God) Please join us as we strive to keep anger in check! I looked up the stairs and saw my mother-in-law at the top. She had literally thrown her laundry basket down the steps because it was too hard for her to carry it down. That was a clue that it was time for us to move to a house without stairs. But as you know if you’ve done it, finding a new place to live is a huge and important decision. I wanted to come up with a prayer my wife and I could agree on. I had recently memorized Matthew 18:19 where Jesus said, “If two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” What’s the weak link in that prayer formula? It’s getting two people on earth to actually agree on something! So I wanted to come up with a precise prayer for our housing that my wife and I could agree on, but what would it be? I was thinking of all the things we could ask for in a new house, but I was also thinking, “What do I know?” I don’t know the future or what we will need and how life will play out. But God does. Matthew 6:8 says that God knows our needs before we even ask! Then I got to thinking about a basketball game. What if I was the coach, and time was running out, and the game was on the line. And oh yeah, Michael Jordan is on the team! Would I try to draw up some elaborate play out of my own thinking and tell them what to do? Or would I simply hand the ball to Michael Jordan and say, “Here you go. Just do what you do.” God is far more capable than Michael Jordan, so why would I come up with an elaborate prayer to tell God what to do? So this became our prayer for a new house, “God, please, just do what You do regarding our housing.” No, we didn’t sit back and do nothing. My wife was on the hunt, diligently looking at what was on the market. And I think she just liked looking at all the houses, which is something I don’t really care about. Then one day she took me to see a house, and when I saw it from a distance, something “pinged” inside of me and I thought, “This is good. This could be the place!” And it was! It turned out to be the perfect place for us and our needs and even what was coming in the future that we had no idea about. Proverbs 3:5-6 says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord…” Yes, many times I pray very specific prayers, “letting my requests be made known unto God.” But other times, like in this housing situation, I just trust the Lord, put the ball completely in His hands and say, “Here you go. Here’s the ball, Lord. Please, just do what You do, and I know it’s going to be wonderful. It’s going to be the best it can be!” So if you need a short prayer of faith today, and one we can easily agree on, here you go. Just pray this prayer with me. “God, please, just do what You do.” Amen. May God bless you today. I’m Doug Apple.

It is the people, not the building, organizational infrastructure, or programs, who hold up and hold out God's Word.) and foundation of the truth.1 Timothy 1:1-2, it tells us to stop those who are teaching what is contrary to the truth, things that are meaningless, and those things that do not help the people of God live a life of faith. God expects believers to have a pure heart full of love, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. But as the Word says, people are turning from the truth and spending time talking about things that are meaningless. Just pay attention to some of the discussions that have been on all social media and the news. We have so many people who are so eloquent/bold with their words but unfortunately, they really don't know what they are talking about. As Christians, just like Paul, our testimony should show God's mercy on the worst of sinners, showing that God is willing and able to save anybody with a willing heart. Sisters and brothers we have to hold tightly to our faith and keep our conscience clear, according to the Word, if we do not, our faith will become shipwrecked.1 Timothy 2: Our Worship has to include praying for all people: asking God to help them, intercede on their behalf, and give thanks to them. God tells us when we pray for our world and government leaders, it brings peace and quiet lives to us that are marked by godliness and dignity, and it is good and pleases God because He wants everyone to be saved and to know and understand His truth. Let us pray with our holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy. 1  Timothy 3: The standards for God's Leaders have not changed. Paul says a person who is desiring to be a church leader, is desiring an honorable position. Jesus has to be our Lord and Savior. People of God we have been in the business of messing up God's church for far too long. We are no different than the Egyptians, Pharisees, Sadducees, Assyrians, Hittites, and the non-believers. We may not be physically putting people in slavery or committing murders but we have enslaved a lot of people with these laws and regulations that have nothing to do with God's free gift of salvation.  Do you really know why the church was even established? Do you what God expects from every church that is open in His name? Do you know what the needs are in your church/community?  Y'all the true church of Christ is the ones that God loves, the one that loves God, the one He died for.
