The series is said to focus on Olsen and other Daily Planet reporters, (though Lois Lane and Clark Kent were conspicuously excluded,) as he tackles cases involving superpowered villains, with Season One featuring Flash rogue Gorilla Grodd as a big bad. Predator Badlands was the apex, ahem, predator at the box office last weekend debuting to $40 million domestically and doubling the haul internationally at $80 million worldwide. The film outperformed expectations, representing a much-needed shot of adrenaline in what has been a lethargic Fall box office, while also putting up bests for the franchise; beating out 2004's Alien Vs Predator and 2018's The Predator in the domestic and global arenas, respectively.Blue Beetle and Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña has been cast in season 3 of Netflix's One Piece and will play the character Portgas D. Ace.Jennifer Lawrence recently revealed that she and Emma Stone are developing a movie about the iconic Muppet Miss Piggy with Oh, Mary! writer and Tony winner Cole Escola penning the script, marking the character's first solo outing siynce Jim Henson debuted her on The Muppet Show in 1976.Netflix and Sony have finalized a deal for another “KPop Demon Hunters” movie, with plans to release the animated musical sequel in 2029.Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Michael Jackson biopic 'Michael' starring Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of the late pop icon. The film from director Antoine Fuqua is set to hit theaters on April 24, 2026, after its release was delayed several times.Prime Video announced that season two of The Night Manager, starring Tom Hiddleston, will premiere on January 11. The second season comes back to Prime ten years after the first season debuted. Warner Brothers has set a release date for the next film in The Gremlins franchise of November 19th 2027. Steven Spielberg is returning to executive produce “Gremlins 3” while “Harry Potter” filmmaker Chris Columbus is set to direct and produce. Disney has released the first official trailer for season 2 of Percy Jackson and The Olympians, which begins streaming on December 10th. In gaming news, Skydance Games is once again pushing the release for the much-anticipated “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” video game from May 2026 to November 2026. Rockstar Games also announced that they would be delaying Grand Theft Auto 6 once again, this time from May 2026 to November 2026 as well. Ryan Reynolds and Amazon MGM have teamed up to develop a remake of Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, a 1974 action comedy that starred Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. Reynolds is eyeing to star in the adaptation and is also collaborating on the script with writers Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson, a writing team who worked on season four of comedic crime show Fargo. Shane Reid, who edited Reynolds' Deadpool & Wolverine, will make his directorial debut with the project.

NerdDaily did an interview with Rick and Mark for The Court of the Dead. They describe writing the book as “improvisational jazz” and we really love that. They have no plans for the future, but that doesn't mean there might not be any…in the future. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Create Your Fate: A Coloring Book hits store shelves on November 11. The Sea of Monsters graphic novel (with a new cover) and the Disney+ tie-in edition also come out on the same day. The Red Pyramid discussion (00:31:38) This is it! We're here to talk about the final chapter of The Red Pyramid and then make our predictions for what may come next. A lot happened in the last two chapters, so we do a mini recap. Carter gets the last POV chapter! The kids (and Amos) return to Brooklyn and are greeted by an enthusiastic Khufu. Muffin is safe and comfortable, and everyone gets a spot to sleep amongst the rubble. How thoughtful. It takes a while to rebuild the mansion, and each sibling has their own strength. Amos is still struggling with what happened to him, and we totally understand why–it was such a violation. Who is the real Amos and will we get to see him in Book 2? The amulets are safe, and we wonder what it'll be like when the kids are actually ready to host the gods again. Why can Carter see Anubis in his human form now? It must be so weird to see their old home in L.A. We were right about Julius, Osiris, and the Underworld throne! The banter between Anubis and Sadie is what romance books are made of! The situation with Julius is complicated to say the least, though we understand why he did what he did. Ruby shows up and we learn that she was kind of there with Isis when Sadie was hosting the goddess. Horus takes the throne of the gods and no one challenges him. Then all the gods bow to the Kanes. ZEUS WOULD NEVER. The gods restored the mansion, which is super nice, but we all know what we were really hoping for. Amos is leaving to go back to the House of Life and leaving the kids on their own. Except Bast is totally back! Carter thinks Sadie will want to go back to her grandparents, but she's totally going to stay with him in Brooklyn. We really loved the end of this book and how it hints to more coming soon. What were our favorite lines and favorite moments? What can we expect in Book 2? We can't wait to see the new recruits! Carter is totally going to track down the real Zia. Mia Goth is the latest actor shedding a bit of light on the long-shelved Blade movie from Marvel Studios. In an interview with Elle, promoting her upcoming appearance in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, Goth shared only that she is still attached to the film and commented that “It's for the best that it's taken the time it has. They want to do it right.” This is in line with Kevin Feige's comments this summer that the film is still moving forward.In an interview with the AP this week, Adam Driver dropped some major information about the Ben Solo movie in Star Wars that never was. They're about to bring down the house, so Carter tricks Set into becoming a fruit bat and then drags him outside the pyramid. Will Sadie be able to free their dad from the throne and his sarcophagus? We kind of already knew how to defeat Set, but he really lays it out for Carter. Did we feel bad about what happened to Desjardins? We totally did not expect Set to put the capstone on top of the pyramid. Sadie is a freaking rainbow, y'all! What name could Sadie have shouted? We wanted to read the next chapter SO BAD! In the midst of Harry Potter fever every studio was looking for their own potential young adult franchise to bring to the big screen. In 2010 20th Century Fox settled on Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series, beginning with Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. They even brought on board Christopher Columbus, the director of the first two Harry Potter movies. Sadly the magic wasn't replicated and what we got was a muddled half hearted attempt of an adaptation that fell short in almost every way minus the incredible cast of barely trying known names. Variety got the scoop on the Emmy-nominated actor joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but no details on who he's playing were announced. Move over Marvel and DC…Archie is here to take us by storm? In an interesting move from filmmakers Phil Lord and Chritopher Miller, Universal is fronting an Archie adaptation for the big screen. Comics legend Tom King is writing the screenplay and former 20th Century Studios President of Production Emma Watts is producing. King made the leap from page to screen recently in the DCU, penning Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow and the Lanterns series, but is well-known for his comics in Marvel, DC, and beyond. The CW show Riverdale adapted the Archie comics in its own unique way and plot details for this film are unknown. Universal also produced a version of the Archie characters in Josie and the Pussycats in 2001. Though we sing the praises for AppleTV+ loudly and frequently on this show, we've also often touted it as being one of the more inexpensive streaming services. Alas, all good things come to an end, as the streamer announced its cost jumped from $9.99 to $12.99 effective August 21. The annual rate of $99.99 has not changed yet. As of now, AppleTV+ stands alone as the only streamer that doesn't have an ad-supported option. Dafne Keen and Saara Chaudry have joined the third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Keen will play Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt. Saara Chaudry will play Zoë Nightshade, an immortal hunter and Artemis' lieutenant.Guardians of the Galaxy and Jumaji star Karen Gillan has joined the cast of the Amazon MGM's Highlander reboot and will play Heather, the love interest of Henry Cavill's character.The first trailer for season 13 of Futurama has been released. All 10 episodes of the new season premiere on Hulu on September 15.Nicolas Cage is in talks to star in season five of HBO's True Detective.NBC has reversed course on the release schedule of the upcoming The Office spin off The Paper - shifting to a binge release. The Netflix sensation was only released for one weekend and clearly had a draw. Now production company Sony is in talks to create a sequel with Netflix. Variety has learned that despite announcing plans for a season two earlier this year, Paramount has opted not to move forward with another season of the Dexter prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. The studio is planning however on assembling a writer's room to develop a second season of Dexter: Resurrection, the sequel series.Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, the creators behind Netflix's Cobra Kai are in talks to bring Knight Rider, the 1980s David Hasselhoff-led action drama centered on a computerized talking car, to the big screen. 

It's time for the weird giant battle. One of these seems to happen every book, and it's where we get super confused. Alex's clay creation, Pottery Barn, battles a lumpy clay giant, while TJ battles Hrungnir. Magnus just kind of stands there. Relatable king. We both wish we got to see more of Alex and Magnus's relationship developing. They defeat the giant and his clay friend, and are told to travel to Flam and take the train. But before they can do that, Blitz and Hearth return. It's time to face Hearth's father once again. They go to Alfheim and Alderman's home is not how they left it. Instead of a mean dad, they must face a mean dragon. We get a bit too deep because of Manasa's Thor's Rumbling question. Erin's question is silly, per usual.
