Today, Francis Chan and Gavin Ortlund continue their conversation and share practical, everyday ways to connect with God's holiness, His deep love for us, and the call to live in the constant awareness of what Jesus' death and resurrection means for us in the here and now. Drawing from passages like 1 Thessalonians 5 and Ephesians 3, Francis reminds us that God calls us to both warn the wandering and tenderly encourage the fainthearted with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, knowing that even when we make mistakes, He will teach and grow us through them. Gavin speaks vulnerably about navigating public ministry in an age of outrage, and how vital it is to withdraw from the noise and anchor ourselves in the simple, freeing truth of the gospel. Together, they offer practical wisdom for cultivating silence as a form of connection with God, strengthening yourself in Him, and entering His presence with confidence rather than condemnation. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the pressure to defend yourself, discouraged by online battles that never seem to end, or unsure how to grow in both truth and love at the same time, this episode will help you refocus your heart on Jesus and reflect His love for the world.

In week one of Home for Christmas, we discover "The Allowing Love of God"—a love that doesn't force, manipulate, or control. Instead, it allows us to choose… even when we choose wrong. It allows life to unfold… even when it leads us into famine, emptiness, or the pigsties of our own decisions. But it's also a love that uses every moment—every mistake, every longing, every “coming to our senses”—to lead us back home.If you've drifted, if you're praying for someone who has, or if you simply need to rediscover the Father's heart, this message is the reminder you need: God's love is proven not just in what He does, but in what He allows—because He is always, always making a way home.Message Notes: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=HJLwoR-M-eDiscussion Questions: https://storage2.snappages.site/PJBKS3/assets/files/HFC1.pdfFind us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!
The Love of God by Dr. Cindy Johnson
In today's dynamic episode, Reagan Kramer interviews Lane Boyce, a passionate young evangelist who shares her transformative journey of faith. Lane recounts her struggles with identity, depression, and the powerful moment of her encounter with Jesus that changed her life. Layne discusses how her life was filled with counterfeits until she experienced God's love, which led to a desire for change. Through repentance, Layne describes supernatural changes in her behavior, including clearing up confusion with sexual identity, the removal of cursing and desires for substances, all facilitated by the Holy Spirit. She also tells of her experience sharing Jesus in Salem, Massachusetts and how even witches and those following occult practices are searching for Jesus. Her testimony highlights the power of faith and the possibility of new life through spiritual awakening. The discussion delves into the importance of living a lifestyle of evangelism using our authority in Christ and the urgency of sharing the gospel in today's world, and the experiences of spiritual warfare during outreach efforts. Lane emphasizes the significance of intimacy with Jesus as the source of strength and boldness in sharing her faith and that Jesus has a great purpose for all people and desires no one should perish. Francis Chan sits down with theologian and apologist Gavin Ortlund (truthunites.org) for a vulnerable, wide-ranging conversation about communion, church unity, and what it means to love other Christians in a fractured age. Francis shares his own journey wrestling with the Eucharist, reading the church fathers, engaging Roman Catholic and Orthodox perspectives, and discovering the “real presence” within a Protestant framework. Gavin explains why he remains gratefully Protestant and how he understands the richness of the Lord's Supper and church history. Together, they talk honestly about the harsh tone of much online “discernment” content, the temptation to chase clicks by attacking other believers, and the deep grief they both feel over division in the body of Christ. Francis opens up about this new season of life and ministry, sensing a renewed childlike faith, a burden to guard and walk with younger leaders, and a longing to see gospel-centered unity rooted in truth and shaped by the love of God. If you've ever wrestled with questions about the Lord's Supper, Protestant vs. Catholic/Orthodox claims, or how to contend for truth without losing love, this conversation will both challenge and encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus and pursue a unity that flows from the gospel itself.

In week three of the Hosea series, Pastor Curt Taylor spoke about God's restoring love, a love that pursues us even when we've wandered far away. Drawing from the story of Hosea, he reminded us that God's heart is not to condemn but to restore His people to wholeness and relationship with Him. Through repentance and trust, we find the renewal and grace that only God can offer. Pastor Taylor encouraged us to open our hearts to that restoration and allow God to reshape our lives from the inside out. It was a powerful reminder that no amount of brokenness can stand against the restoring love of God.

Main Idea. Those who truly know God will reflect the obedience and love of Christ. Question. How can we know that we truly know God? 1. Knowing God means walking as Jesus walked. (Obedience) (vv. 3–6) John 8:47 Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God. John 15:3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. John 5:19 The Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us. Consider God's love for us: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 1 John 4:9–10 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. New Covenant. Jer 31:31–34 I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. Ezk 36:26–27 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, Application. Will you obey the law perfectly? 1. No. We still sin. 2. Yes. By union with Christ, His perfect obedience to the law is counted as ours. Romans 5:19: By the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. Application. 1. We are to keep Christ's commands. 2. Knowing God means loving as Jesus loved. (Love) (vv. 7–11) John 13:34,35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. Deut 6:5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Lev. 19:34 You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. Application. 1. How are we doing in our love for one another? Takeaways. Our obedience is not the cause of knowing God, it's the evidence that God graciously united us to Christ. Our love is not merely a moral obligation, but the overflow of Christ's communion.
There are precious experiences of the love of God that require that we fight pride, seek humility, and cherish the nearness of God.

On this November 7th, 2024 episode, Hunter guides us through day 311 of our journey in Scripture. Today, we read from Job 31 and 32, hearing Job's heartfelt protest of innocence and Elihu's passionate reply. Then we dive into Galatians chapters 5 and 6, where Paul calls us to freedom in Christ and reminds us that what truly matters is becoming a new creation, living by the principle of the cross and expressing our faith through love. Join Hunter as he reflects on what it means to be transformed by God's love, leads us in prayer, and encourages us to live out this truth in daily life—building our lives on Jesus and remembering that we are deeply loved. Settle in as we open our hearts to God's Word and let His grace transform us together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: It's a matter of principle. For followers of Jesus, there is a motivating principle that surpasses all others—the cross. In today's reading, we're reminded by Paul that it is not religious piety, not personal aspirations, achievements, or even politics, that form the foundation of our life. These things may have their place, they may serve the world in certain ways, but they are not what we are called to live by, or live for. Paul declares, "May I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ." The cross stands as the central principle—the banner under which we live. Because of the cross, our interest in the fleeting things of this world has been crucified, and the world's interest in us has died. What matters most is whether we have been transformed into a new creation in Christ. This new creation was made possible at the cross, where the Creator was undone for us, so that something new could be born through him in us. It is now his life that expresses itself in love through us, and this, Paul tells us, is what really counts. "May God's peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle," Paul writes. "They are the new people of God." This is the principle: from the cross, through his new people, God moves out into the world, making all things new. As God's new creation, you are invited to build your life on him, to live in the joy, the strength, and the wisdom that Jesus won for you on the cross. So let's make this our prayer: to let this principle govern our lives, our families, our communities. Let the transforming love of Christ, shown at the cross, become the foundation of all that we do. May it shape our heart, our mind, our relationships, and our purpose. This is my prayer for my own soul, for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son—and for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Let's continue now in a time of prayer. You can read along with these prayers in the show notes of today's podcast, or feel free to meditate on these words that are being spoken over you, your family, and our world. And now let us pray: Lord God Almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought us in safety to this new day. Preserve us with your mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. **O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you. And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. In week two of the Hosea series at Cherry Hills Community Church, Pastor Curt Taylor shared a message about the tough love of God. He reminded the church that God's love is not just gentle and kind but also strong enough to confront sin and call us back when our hearts drift away. Using Hosea's story, Pastor Curt explained how we can look faithful on the outside yet be far from God on the inside. God's discipline, he said, is never meant to punish us out of anger but to bring us back into relationship with Him. The sermon invited everyone to see God's correction as an act of mercy from a Father who loves us too much to leave us where we are.
For the Christ follower, perhaps no greater example of God's mercy can be found than when He had compassion on us while we were still lost and separated from God. But, it gets better.
God's love was so great that He risked being rejected by the very ones He loved. Free will wasn't a flaw in creation — it was love's open door. What Adam lost through choice, Christ restored through surrender. Both moments prove: God never revoked our freedom, only expanded His grace. - DA Hurth - Sunday, November 2, 2025

Can we as Christ followers have a real expectation of how the Lord will act toward us? How will He treat us and respond to us as we relate to Him on a personal level?
This is message 14 in The Names of God Series God's Ideal Character and Calling of His People Deuteronomy 33:1-5, 26-30 God calls His people to live uprightly, reflecting His righteousness and grace. He not only redeems but also transforms, shaping those He saves into a people who bear His character. In this episode of the Crazy Love Podcast, Francis Chan opens his heart about what it truly means to live from God's love rather than striving to earn it. So many of us believe God loved us when we were His enemies, yet live as though His affection now depends on our performance as His children. Francis reminds us that God's love is constant, unshakable, and infinitely beyond anything we can imagine. This message echoes the heartbeat of Francis' brand-new book, Beloved, releasing October 7th. Written with his daughter Mercy, the book invites readers to move beyond head knowledge of God's love into a daily, lived experience of His presence and delight. You can pre-order Beloved today and pick up your copy wherever books are sold.
God does not need us. Instead, his infinite self-sufficiency spills over in love to us who need him.
We continue our overview of the Ten Commandments by looking at the two parts: love of God and love of neighbor. Together they form a “coherent whole,” and there is a unity between the two. While the Catechism shows us our obligation to follow the Commandments, it also reminds us that, “What God commands, he makes possible by his grace.” Fr. Mike emphasizes that even though it may be challenging at times, we are not alone. Jesus is here to help us keep his Commandments. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 2064-2082. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB.
