Welcome to the Yahweh's Child Podcast! YCP hopes to be a place of positivity and food-for-thought as well as a platform that sheds light on topics that may not be covered in the standard church. Not a believer? You're still totally welcome here! We invite you to stay and tune in, taking with you some new insight.
This week we introduce you to our friend and intern, Daylen. We discuss a few topics that God has laid on her heart from Christian leadership to following Christ in high school... and a few other topics on the way!
During a moment of total transparency, we felt led to open about the trials we are each facing in this season. One day it might be anxiety, the next it might be perfectionism or OCD, but is there really much difference in them when we get down to it? We're still learning and still growing, but what we do know is that God is still good and He is in control. Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spencer
The enemy wants us to lose focus. Peter took a big step of faith to walk on water with Jesus, but he began to sink as soon as he lost his focus. Maybe you're distracted by your to-do list, your anxieties, or a relationship. We'd like to encourage you to re-center your focus on the Lord. He's the only one who can help you walk on water.
Looking back at our first night of worship and sharing with you some of the highlights. We've said it before, "Where God guides, He provides. God doesn't just call the qualified, He qualifies the called." Sometimes we don't really know how we're going to accomplish what God is calling us to do, but the Lord will pave the way with His grace and His provision if we only surrender. We believe Yahweh has great plans for all of His children and, because He is a Good Father, He will provide.
What do girls want? Well... it's a mystery! Some days we want one thing, the next we may not want it at all. We want compliments and flowers, but we don't want it when we ask. Look, okay... girls are complicated! We admit it. That said, we do know a few things that girls want FOR SURE.
In today's society, body image can be a pretty sensitive subject. With social media as popular as it is, comparison is honestly more contagious than the most recent pandemic. We're here to remind you that you're beautiful right where you are! It's not bad to seek health, but if what you're doing and not doing is to look more like this person or that person then your mental health may be affected by it. Just try to be the best YOU that you can be! Featuring: Cheyenne Spencer, Ansley Fain
Based on the book by Gary Chapman, this week we close out our first ever Love Series discussing the 5 Love Languages. What do they look like? Why do they matter? Can I have more than one? We discuss all of this Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spencer, Reese Spencer
This week we wanted to break down the different words for "love" in the Greek language. Like any good conversation we went in focusing on one thing, but were led to dive deeper into another. Scripture Referenced: 1 John 4:10 Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spencer
Valentine's Day as a single, Valentine's Day as a couple, and the history of it all. Join us as we talk a bit about St. Valentine's inspiring story. You are loved!! Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spencer
Matthew 22:39 says to love your neighbor as yourself, but how can we do that properly if we don't love ourselves? Self-love is incredibly important! After all, Jesus came to die for each of us. That being said, self-love is not prideful or egotistical just as humility is not self-depreciating. Join us for this episode as we discuss the importance, struggles, and balance of self-love. Scripture Mentioned: Matthew 22:37-39; 1 John 4:10; Psalm 139:14 Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spencer
This week's episode kicks off our first ever Love Series. Founded on scripture found in Matthew 22 we discuss what it means to love our neighbor, and what it doesn't. Scripture Mentioned: Matthew 22:27-39 Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spencer
Last week we discussed cutting ties with toxic traits. Sometimes traits are associated with our inner circle, but outgrowing people isn't always as easy as it sounds. In this episode we discuss the struggles and benefits of taking that leap. Scriptures Mentioned: Proverbs 27:17, Proverbs 12:26 Featuring: Cheyenne Spinks, Ansley Fain
The start of a new year often inspires new beginnings and big life changes. Similarly, when the Lord calls us out of our old life we feel inspired to cut ties with toxic traits... sometimes that's easier said than done. The Lord will give us strength, but that doesn't mean we wake up one day and all of the human temptations have disappeared. Big thanks to our special guest, Riley, for joining us and being so vulnerable on this topic! Scriptures Mentioned: Luke 9:23, 1 Corinthians 10:5, Romans 8:38-39 Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spencer, Riley Triplett
Happy New Year! This is the time of year most people set goals, give up on goals, or avoid setting them at all. And a lot of those goals have something to do with cutting things out, but we want to remind you not to put so much pressure on yourself. The best way to cut something out is to replace it, so we encourage you to set goals that add something to your life. Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spinks
Christmas snuck up on some of us! In this week's episode we discussed some of our favorite Christmas traditions and some tips for gifts on a budget. We wish you a merry Christmas!
The Spirit of Christmas is what makes the holiday so special! Love, joy, peace, and excitement fill the air. For some people, the Spirit can be dampened by situations like materialism or split families. We pray that God will restore the Spirit of Christmas in your heart! In this episode we discuss what the Spirit of Christmas looks like to us, some things that can dampen it, and some things to enhance it! Bible Verse Mentioned: Luke 2:10-11 Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spinks
Amanda Lawrence joined us for this week's episode to discuss raising "big dreamers" in a Christ-centered home. There's no perfect person (other than Jesus) so there's no perfect parent. It's a lot of trial and error, but one thing we do know is that seeking the Lord and His guidance is definitely the right move. We asked Amanda how she guided her oldest children, Chase and Trevor Lawrence, without discouraging them in their efforts. With Chase being an artist and Trevor an athlete, their ideal career fields were those that very few people make a living with. We also asked about the impossible strive for perfection and what it was like raising two sons with God-given talents that were totally opposite from one another. Her daughter Olivia is still growing and we're excited to see what God has in store for her life. Thank you, Amanda, for joining us and for your transparency regarding being a mom. The unknowns, the imperfections, and the importance of God's grace. Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spinks, Amanda Lawrence
God instills gifts, talents, and passions within each of us. These things often push us towards our purpose. Created uniquely, we as believers all make up the body of Christ. Without eyes, one could not see. Without legs, one could not walk. Remember, we don't have to serve the Kingdom, we get to. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. (1 Peter 4:10) The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don't need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don't need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable... (1 Corinthians 12:21-22) Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spinks
The Thanksgiving season is a great reminder to be thankful for all of the "little" ways we've been blessed, but we hope that it overflows into all of your days! In this week's episode we discuss the science behind gratitude and some tips to exercise your gratitude muscles. Scriptures Quoted: 1 Thessalonians 5:18, 1 Chronicles 16:34 Featuring: Cheyenne Spinks, Ansley Fain
In this week's episode we discuss cultivating church culture with special guest Benjamin Hopper. Through this conversation we hear how churches may be like mega-brand coffee shops, which can reach a lot of people, and how churches can also be like boutique coffee shops for a more hands on experience. Ultimately there's two parts to cultivating church culture, within the body and within leadership. When done properly, we see these kinds of cultures overflow into the world around us. People see a difference in how we treat others, how we celebrate ideas and individuality. Cultivating a healthy church culture results in an overflow into the world. Featuring: Ansley Fain, Benjamin Hopper, Cheyenne Spinks

Whatever your struggle, we hope this week's episode helps your decision making process. Between planning, expectation, finances, and tense relationships-- holidays can be stressful!! This week we'll be going over some helpful tips to reduce stress during the holiday season. We'll also be discussing the tricky topic of toxic family members. Unfortunately there's no one-size-fits-all to those things so we pray the Holy Spirit will only have you take what is meant for you. Ultimately just remember to be grateful for the good! Put your positivity and gratitude glasses on. Featuring: Ansley Fain, Cheyenne Spinks
