Most sales reps believe that closing more sales requires being more aggressive, more persuasive, or more pushy. That belief is costing you deals. In this episode, Ray Higdon breaks down the fastest no-pressure way to increase your sales conversions—and it has nothing to do with pressure tactics. It has everything to do with posture. Ray explains how managing the energy of the conversation changes everything. When prospects pull away, most untrained reps lean in harder. But the opposite approach—maintaining strong posture and pulling back—actually increases authority, trust, and conversion rates. If you are in sales, network marketing, direct sales, affiliate marketing, or team leadership, this episode will show you how to close more deals without feeling pushy, desperate, or aggressive. —

If goal setting already feels exhausting and it's barely 2026, this episode is for you. Chalene Johnson shares a calmer, pressure free way to think about goals that has nothing to do with New Year's resolutions or blowing up your entire life. Instead of focusing on what you think you should accomplish, this episode helps you get clear on how you actually want your life to feel in this season. Using a simple 90 day system built around alignment and small daily actions, this approach is realistic, grounding, and way more sustainable. It's designed for anyone who wants real progress in 2026 without burning themselves out by February.
Norm tips the cap to Cooper Flagg turning 19 and casually dropping 40 in the NBA—then immediately pivots to something far less impressive: the Dallas Cowboys doing the exact same thing again. If this season feels familiar, that's because it is. Early points, a brief lead, then the defense opens the floodgates while the offense stalls out like it hit an invisible wall. Norm walks through the Chargers loss, the Vikings loss, the Lions loss—pick a week, it's the same movie with a different jersey color. The numbers are brutal: 112 points allowed in three weeks, one sack, five punts forced, and a defense threatening to challenge 1960 for the worst in franchise history. Yet the reflex response still seems to be “fire the coordinator and move on,” rather than confronting the uncomfortable truth that a lot of these players simply aren't good enough.Norm asks the question no one in the front office seems eager to answer: does Jerry Jones actually understand how mediocre this team is—or are we about to spin the coordinator wheel one more time and hope for a miracle?CHAPTERS00:00:00 – Happy Birthday, Cooper Flagg (And Welcome Back to Cowboys Reality)00:00:41 – Fluent Financial Sponsor Read00:01:45 – Cowboys Groundhog Day: Same Game, Same Ending00:02:36 – 6–8–1 and Stuck in the Middle of the Draft Again00:03:18 – “It's the Scheme” vs. “It Might Be the Players”00:03:56 – McCarthy Gone, Zimmer Gone, Schottenheimer Here… Same Results00:04:39 – Chargers Game Recap: Fast Start, Zero Finish00:05:33 – Three-Week Stretch of Defensive Horror00:06:29 – One Sack, Five Punts, and 20 Opponent Scores00:07:11 – No Pressure on Goff, McCarthy, or Herbert00:08:03 – Diggs Back, Revel Struggling, and No Answers00:09:01 – Chargers' Backup Offensive Line Still Runs Wild00:09:57 – Defensive Box Score: Who Showed Up… and Who Didn't00:10:37 – How Many New Starters Does This Defense Need?00:11:01 – Bob's Steak & Chop House Sponsor Read00:12:01 – Full Moon Healing Balm Sponsor Read00:12:57 – Sponsor Close00:13:19 – Follow, Share, and Keep Wondering00:14:00 – Stolen Water Media Sign-Off Check us out: patreon.com/sunsetloungedfwInstagram: sunsetloungedfwTiktok: sunsetloungedfwX: SunsetLoungeDFWFB: Sunset Lounge DFW

As Prime Minister Mark Carney heads for the G20 Summit in South Africa, his trip to the United Arab Emirates proved to be one focused on strengthening diplomatic ties and potential foreign investment relations. However, mention of the UAE's alleged involvement in the war in Sudan was something many Canadians and human rights activists felt was missing from the trip's itinerary.Amnesty International claims credible sources have found the UAE to be in violation of the United Nations' arms embargo to Sudan's Darfur region, something the UAE repeatedly denies. The Sudanese war broke out in 2023, as its army battles for power against a paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Forces. More than 150,000 lives have been claimed.Host Maria Kestane speaks to Glen McGregor, political correspondent for CityNews to break down the implications of Carney's trip to the Middle East, and how the omission for holding the UAE accountable could have consequences for Canada's humanitarian image. The podcast episode discusses the advantages of prioritizing UGC Retainer Deals to move your income from 1-2k months to 8-10k months within the first quarter of 2026! Here is why over 50% of my monthly income comes from UGC retainers, how I book them and how to stand out to be hired for a retainer contract, even as a new creator. Here's a breakdown of the key points: • What are Retainers? A retainer means a brand or agency hires your services for a set duration, rather than for a single, one-off project (0:42-1:02). This provides predictable income, as you know how much content you'll produce and how much you'll be paid for a specific period (1:12-1:29). • Benefits of Retainers: • Predictable Income: Over 65-75% of the speaker's UGC income comes from retainers, providing stability and peace of mind (2:29-2:51). • Less Clients, More Money: You can achieve your income goals with fewer clients, which is ideal for those with other commitments (2:53-3:00). • No Pressure to Go Viral: The focus is on delivering consistent, valuable content, with the brand deciding how it's used (3:02-3:07). • Control: You control your rates, time, and schedule, and can customize retainers (3:09-3:15). • Efficiency: Working with fewer brands allows for deeper integration and understanding of their message and audience, leading to more efficient content creation (8:05-8:29). • Why Brands Love Retainers: Brands appreciate not having to constantly search for new creators, as it simplifies bookkeeping and ensures a consistent brand voice (1:59-2:25, 3:44-3:56). • How to Secure Retainers: • Communicate Value: Position the retainer as beneficial to the brand, focusing on how it solves their problems rather than your need for consistent income (4:09-4:45, 9:02-9:13). • Demonstrate Reliability: Brands look for creators who deliver on time, communicate well, follow directions, are easy to work with, and take feedback constructively (6:59-7:14). • Make the Brand Look Good: Delivering excellent content makes the brand's team members look good to their superiors, increasing your likelihood of being hired (7:25-7:37). • Common Length: Most common retainer lengths are 3 to 6 months, though some can be on a rolling basis (7:49-7:58). • What to Avoid: Be wary of brands that ask for free videos with the promise of a retainer later, as this can be a "carrot dangle" to get free content (5:31-5:56). Instead, counter with an offer for one paid video at your normal rate to test performance (6:03-6:20). Sexier Than A Squirrel: Dog Training That Gets Real Life Results
Send us a textThe words “no pressure” can make you feel all the pressure. We pull back the curtain on how stress sneaks into training and competition, how it leaks down the lead, and what it takes to build a team that holds together when the stakes feel high. From a near‑perfect run that unravelled at the last jump to the quiet wins in everyday pet training, we share what we've learned about mindset, arousal, and the stories we tell ourselves. We discuss the difference between healthy pressure that boosts performance and harmful pressure that stifles curiosity. You'll hear simple language shifts—swapping but for and, adding yet to can't - that reshape belief and behaviour. We break down the real‑world signs your dog is overloaded: sniffing and looking away, random behaviours, shutdown, vocalising, or trying to leave. You'll learn how to tailor pressure to the dog in front of you, manage your own arousal so your cues land, and set crisp session boundaries so engagement doesn't bleed into chatter. We also explore group dynamics, why comparison is the thief of joy, and how good coaching protects both people and dogs - especially when life baggage walks into training with us.If you're chasing red ribbons or just hoping for calmer walks, this conversation provides a practical path: clear criteria, small steps, honest expectations, and a plan you can trust. Flow isn't magic; it's the result of meeting your dog where they are and managing yourself first. UFC Des Moines is in the books, and I break down Reinier de Ridder vs. Bo Nickal—including whether it's fair to call Nickal overrated, how high de Ridder should climb in the rankings after his win, and my issue with Nickal's approach. Also, what's next for Cory Sandhagen after defeating Deiveson Figueiredo? Then, Charles Oliveira's coach says Oliveira would prefer a fight with Ilia Topuria over Islam Makhachev—I'll tell you why I like that idea. Plus, as we gear up for UFC 315 this weekend, I explain why Jack Della Maddalena is playing with house money. And some rare public comments from Arman Tsarukyan, who revealed he turned down a rematch with Mateusz Gamrot. And finally, I'm keeping my feud with Deontay Wilder alive as he continues to promote a crossover MMA/boxing match with Francis Ngannou. I remind him why that's stupid. To support this program, please leave me a review on Apple Podcasts or submit a rating on my Spotify page.CHAPTERS:de Ridder vs. Nickal recap (00:00)What happened with Nickal? Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 and the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911. She's famous for her work in radioactivity. Lin-Manual Miranda is a songwriter, producer and director who won the Pulitzer Prize in Drama in 2016, as well as several Tony awards. What do they have in common? They lived a century apart. They innovated in disparate fields. But they shared a similar productivity practice. Both achieved greatness by embracing the practice of slow productivity, says Georgetown computer science professor Cal Newport. Slow productivity is a three-part practice, Newport explains: (1) do fewer things; (2) work at a natural pace; (3) obsess over quality. We're used to thinking of productivity as doing more in a short amount of time. This flips that idea on its head, focusing on doing less, but excelling. Slow productivity is the practice of doing fewer tasks better. In this episode, Newport explains how the practice of slow productivity diverges from the normal ways that people in modern society tend to work. Life can be stressful. Your to-do list might feel never-ending. This episode can help you focus on the few things that matter most. It can help you feel less stressed, less busy, and yet — paradoxically — more productive, at the same time. We're sharing this as part of GREATEST HITS WEEK, a 5-day series in which we're sharing 5 episodes, across 5 days, that originally aired at the start of 2024 (January through March).
