Have you ever poured your heart into an idea, only to watch it fall flat?Maybe you set up the page, wrote the emails, built the offer, opened the calendar, and gave it your best.And still, nothing happened.In this episode, I'm talking about what to do with a failed dream and how to keep going when something you hoped for does not pan out.I share honestly about my own graveyard of dreams: books that did not sell, writing workshops that barely took off, a merch business that went nowhere, and ideas I really believed in that simply did not work.It is painful to experience a failed dream. When a dream comes up short, it can make you question yourself.It can make you wonder if you heard God wrong, missed something important, or maybe just do not have what it takes.But I do not believe failure has to be the end of the story.Sometimes, the thing that did not work becomes the very thing that teaches you what to do next.In this episode, I walk through three things to consider when you're staring down a failed dream.I know what it feels like to try and feel like you came up short.But I also know that regret is heavier than trying and failing.So if you have it in you, I hope you get up again.I hope you try again.I hope you dream again.Your failed dream may not be the end.It may be a pointer to what comes next.Thanks for being here! A nonprofit was built to run like a co-op. Everyone's equal. There's no HR. Is that your dream, or a nightmare that feel suspiciously like high school? I'm joined by Dr. Pablo Otaola, CEO of Thriving Culture LLC, to tackle a listener question about this exact scenario. An executive director walked into an organization built on flat structure ideals, but instead of a utopia they found bullying, cliques, and power plays.. Real Listener Question: "I'm an ED for a nonprofit with a flat structure. We supposed to run like a co-op, where everyone but the board and ED shares the same title. The goal was to create a fair and equitable environment, but in practice it's like high school. Bullying, power plays, cliques trying to control the group with zero accountability. How do I change the organization?" Pablo and I break down the problems we've seen with flat organizational structures, what actually creates a thriving culture, and how a nonprofit leader can start changing the DNA of an org that's been stuck for years. In my Father's Day special, I sit down with Lori Thicke, author of Dreamer's Daughter: Surviving My Childhood and Raising My Father. Lori was only ten when her mother left. Football is an obsession for many Ghanaians and a route to fame and fortune for a talented few – and it can be a gruelling journey for the children dreaming of stardom in the world's top leagues.Against this backdrop, the country's Right to Dream football academy aims to provide a safe passage to international game. Unusually, the school owns a number of top-tier clubs in Denmark, Egypt and the USA, which can act as stepping stones to the world's top leagues, a path that stars such as Tottenham's Mohamed Kudus and Atalanta's Kamaldeen Sulemana have taken. But while as many as 50,000 children try out for the school, just a handful win scholarships every year.
