Send a textWhat does a Christ-centered home actually look like on a Tuesday night when everyone is tired, schedules are packed, and a tough conversation is waiting at the door? Our guests show why modeling matters more than speeches: kids may forget our words, but they remember our ways. You'll hear how humble apologies, do-overs, and one-on-one repair reflect the gospel better than perfectionism, and why relationship must outrun compliance when behavior gets hard. We also dig into practical tools for spiritual formation: creative Scripture touchpoints on mirrors and in margins, music that starts faith talks, and simple questions that help kids name where they see God at work.Culture and media don't have to be a battlefield. Learn how to teach discernment without fear, set loving boundaries, and invite honest questions while affirming biblical authority. We explore the vital role of the local church as a partner—not a substitute—for discipleship, and the power of mentors and community when parenting feels heavy. If past mistakes weigh you down, take heart: the gospel offers rest, restoration, and a fresh start today. We close with curated resources—books, apps, music, and films—to help you curate a home where truth and grace meet.Subscribe, share this episode with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review to help more families find hope and practical tools for building a Christ-centered home.Contact:podcasts@calfarley.org To Donate: https://secure.calfarley.org/site/Donation2?3358.donation=form1&df_id=3358&mfc_pref=TTo Apply:https://apply.workable.com/cal-farleys-boys-ranch/j/25E1226091/For More Information about Cal Farley's Boys Ranch:https://www.calfarley.org/Music:"Shine" -NewsboysCCS License No. 9402

In this sobering conclusion to the "Kingdom Now" series on the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Karl closes Matthew 7:21–29 with Jesus' urgent call to authentic, obedient faith. He recaps the narrow gate—Jesus Himself as the exclusive way to the Father (John 10:9)—requiring self-denial and kingdom priority, a path few find because truth is non-negotiable. The terrifying warning follows: Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom—only those who do the Father's will. Even miracle-workers may hear, "I never knew you; depart from me," underscoring that salvation demands an intimate, mutual relationship: truly knowing Jesus and being known by Him, not superficial confession or religious activity without heart surrender and obedience.Pastor Karl illustrates this with the parable of the wise and foolish builders: Everyone hears Jesus' words, but only doers build on the rock. Storms are certain—far beyond our strength—and they reveal the unseen foundation. Lives built on anything else crumble with great destruction. Hearing or studying the Word isn't enough; we must be doers (James 1:22) for transformed, fruitful lives. He shares the powerful story behind "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus," born from Nokseng's martyrdom in India, declaring unwavering commitment amid tragedy: "No turning back… though none go with me… the cross before me, the world behind me."The message ends with Jesus' astonishing authority as the Word incarnate and a solemn challenge: Will you follow—not with lip service, but with total devotion through the narrow gate? As the congregation is invited to stand and sing the hymn only if they can declare it personally, Pastor Karl urges genuine surrender, heart examination, and reaching out for prayer to confirm a true decision to follow Christ. A grace-filled, convicting call to move from profession to possession, building on the only foundation that endures the storm.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

The letter from Paul to the Colossians reveals Christ as preeminent - first and foremost over everything - and encourages Christians toward a life that reflects that priority. The church in Colossae was a predominately Gentile church and the heresy threatening it combined elements from Greek speculation (2:8-10), Jewish legalism (2:11-17), and Eastern mysticism (2:18-23). To address these heresies, this letter is a very Christ-Centered letter, stressing the completeness of the salvation Jesus provides. It extols Christ's sufficiency for every spiritual and practical need and encourages submission to Him as the source and worthy ruler of our lives. Prepare for this week's teaching by reading Colossians chapters 1-4 giving special focus to Colossians 1:1-8
Collaboration in Church ministry requires intentional skill sets and practices to ensure that the ministries advance the mission of Christ and his church. Listen to Fr. Frank Donio, S.A.C share more in this segment of the Son Rise Morning Show on Sacred Heart Radio, about how to effectively collaborate in ministry as well as a reminder that we are working for Christ's mission. There are seven keys to effective Christ-centered collaboration in the Church: 1) Christ—we must recognize that Christ is the center of all that we do, 2) Cenacle—referring to how the Apostles and the Blessed Mother Mary gathered in prayer, discernment, and action, 3) Communio—communion is the core of collaboration and provides the sense of togetherness, 4) Cooperation—we must work together to understand perspectives and care for those in need, 5) Communication—effective communication ensures that collaboration moves efficiently and effectively to achieve the ministerial goals, 6) Compassion—when things don't go according to plan, ensure that those involved in the work of the ministry are cared for with charity as well, 7) Co-responsibility—we all share in the mission of Christ and his church, it is each of our roles to preach the Gospel. Every relationship has a center, and whatever holds that place will shape what rises to the surface in our words and actions. In the opening message of the Made for More series, Pastor Fred invites us to reflect on what truly drives our relationships and why simply adding God is not the same as centering on Christ. This message calls us to pursue the “more” we were made for by building relationships rooted in Jesus, not in emotions, kids, or ambition. Christmas is meant to be a season of joy—but for many of us, it becomes a whirlwind of overspending, overcommitting, and feeling overwhelmed. The good news? It doesn't have to be that way. With a bit of planning and the right perspective, you can slow down, simplify, and savor what truly matters.Today, Crystal Payne—creator of MoneySavingMom.com—shared practical ways to simplify Christmas while keeping your heart centered on Christ. Here's a look at her best advice for making this season more peaceful, meaningful, and budget-friendly.Rediscover the Meaning of ChristmasBefore diving into logistics or budgeting, Crystal encourages families to anchor the season in what matters most.1. Practice Daily Advent ReflectionsHer family uses Ann Voskamp's Advent book, complete with ornaments and daily devotionals. The readings are short, kid-friendly, and a gentle, daily reminder of the story at the heart of Christmas.2. Create a Family Giving ProjectEvery December, Crystal's children choose a giving project—something meaningful to them—and the whole family contributes. The kids even make donation boxes and help gather change throughout the month. It's a hands-on way to practice generosity and keep the focus on others.Simplify Your Gift ListFor many people, gift-giving is the biggest stressor in December.Crystal recommends asking yourself:Who do I feel I should buy for?Who do I want to buy for? What budget do I realistically have?If your list and budget don't match, consider simplifying:Family gifts instead of individual giftsExperience gifts rather than itemsHomemade or low-cost gifts, especially for people who “have everything”Crystal's free Christmas guide at MoneySavingMom.com includes 15 simple DIY gift ideas—from movie-night boxes to Sharpie-designed mugs to homemade baked goods.Keep Spending in CheckOverspending is easy at Christmas—but planning helps.Save Throughout the YearIt's too late for this season, but Crystal encourages starting a Christmas sinking fund in January. A little each month makes December much lighter.Use Gift Cards as Your BudgetIf you shop online, buying prepaid gift cards (or using ones earned through surveys or reward apps) helps you avoid overspending. When the card is empty, the shopping is done.If money is tight this year, you still have wonderful options:Homemade food gifts: cookie dough, loaves of bread, granola, sweet breadsExperience gifts: monthly treats, babysitting, laundry help, home-cooked mealsSentimental gifts: photo books, recipe collections, handwritten lettersThese gifts often mean more than store-bought items because they're personal, thoughtful, and memorable.Make Holiday Cooking EasierFood prep can dominate December, but Crystal suggests planning ahead:Make a list of everything you hope to cookShop ahead of timePrep and freeze items like cookie dough, rolls, sweet breads, or dessertsTake shortcuts when needed—premade dough or bread can be inexpensive and time-savingA few hours of prep can give you more space for the moments that matter.Plan Meaningful Family Time (Without Overfilling Your Calendar)Crystal offers several delightful ideas to create memories without adding stress.1. Make a December Bucket ListEach family member chooses one or two special activities. That's it. This keeps the schedule joyful rather than jam-packed—and ensures you're doing what everyone actually values.2. Wrap and Read Christmas BooksWrap books you already own and open one each day in December. Kids love the anticipation, and it becomes a shared daily moment.3. Celebrate Early as a FamilyBecause they travel to visit extended family, Crystal's family sets aside a full “Christmas Day” together the week before. It allows them to savor time at home without rushing through traditions.Stay Organized and Reduce StressCrystal's top principle: Ask, “How can I make this easier?”A few of her go-to strategies:Write everything down – brain dump into Google Calendar so it's not “living in your head.”Time-block your to-dos – small chunks of planned tasks prevent last-minute chaos.Share the workload – say “yes” when someone offers help. Ask guests to bring a dish. Let kids take part in preparations.Simplifying isn't just about doing less—it's about doing what matters most with more peace.Crystal's brand-new resource includes:15 DIY gift ideasFood gifts, homemade gifts, and simple creative optionsIdeas to simplify and save money this ChristmasYou can download it for free at MoneySavingMom.com.A Final WordCrystal's wisdom reminds us that Christmas doesn't need to be hectic or expensive to be meaningful. We're pulling back the curtain and sharing the real areas we're actively working on in our marriage right now. Not from a "we've got it all figured out" place—but from a posture of humility, honesty, and a desire to grow together. We walk through four rhythms we want to strengthen as we head into a new season: • Praying together daily (and why it matters more than we realize) • Actually finishing our weekly marriage meetings—mission statement, core values, and all • Being more intentional about serving in our local church • Slowing down and soaking up this sweet (and chaotic) season with our kids If you want a practical, Christ-centered conversation that feels like friends on the couch figuring out marriage together... this one's for you. In this powerful episode, we sit down with Nicole (@nicole_keilani)—a mother of three, former New Ager transformed by Jesus, and now a devoted birthkeeper—whose birth journey will encourage any mom navigating fear-based labels or “high-risk” diagnoses. After being diagnosed with gestational diabetes and risked out of midwifery care, Nicole found herself facing medical pressure, limited options, and the familiar “you can't have a homebirth” narrative.
