Canadian Folk Music Award nominee and Folk Music Ontario Songs from the Heart winner Allison Lupton is getting ready to release her fourth full length album “Words Of Love”, a fabulous recording that features Allison and her band – including some of the best musicians on the Southern Ontario folk scene, on a mix of self-written songs and traditional material with romantic love as a central theme, while also telling stories about Canada, the immigrant experience and the travails of itinerant labour. Words of Love, which was produced by Allison Lupton, features Jess Arrowsmith (backing vocals), Richard Arrowsmith (melodeon), Andrew Collins (mandolin, backing vocals), Shane Cook (fiddle, mandolin, feet), Tony McManus (guitar), Joe Phillips (bass, backing vocals), Ivan Rosenberg (dobro) and Craig Werth (backing vocals). Allison Lupton will be launching the album with a release show at Hugh’s Room Live on March 30 featuring Tony McManus, Shane Cook, Joe Phillips, Ivan Rosenberg, and Andrew Collins. Acclaimed Cambridge ON singer-songwriter and vocalist Allison Lupton has just released a new single for Christmas, an original song entitled “The Eve of Christmas Day”. The new single was recorded at Canterbury Music Company in Toronto and also features BBC Radio 2 Folk Music award-winning trio The Young’uns (Sean Cooney, David Eagle, Michael Hughes) on backing vocals, New Hampshire guitar master Craig Werth, and a wonderful brass quintet arrangement by Tom Leighton. Allison Lupton will be releasing her fourth full length album “Words Of Love” in March 2019 with release shows planned for Hugh’s Room Live (March 30), Kingston (May 24), Almonte (May 25), Goderich (May 31) and Cambridge (June 1). Allison will be joined by Tony McManus, Shane Cook, Joe Phillips, Ivan Rosenberg, and Andrew Collins. We caught up with Allison at home in Cambridge ON to chat about the new single. "Finding One's Voice" can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. In this recording from May 31, 2016 you will hear what it means to six storytellers including: Dagan Migirditch, John Tilly, Kristy Martino, Amy Antonucci, Mark Michael Adams, and Craig Werth. This particular show was a collaboration of storytellers between a venue known as 3S Artspace and their "Long Story Short" series and our True Tales Radio program of WSCA. ACTONE Fall Festival with Executive Director Stephanie Voss Nugent, invited us to put on a Sunday afternoon storytelling performance at the West End StudioTheatre in Portsmouth, NH on Oct. 18, 2015. What great fun! We had a sold-out audience and some of our outstanding storytellers telling their True Tales. No central theme this time around... it was a variety of themes and a terrific opportunity to get storytelling even further out into the community. Our guest storytellers included: Amy Antonucci, Craig Werth, Michael Lang, Andy Davis, Sharon Rhodes, Al Porsche, Tony Lee, Carol Clapp and Pat Spalding. Beginning on Nov. 29, 2016, True Tales Live moved to Portsmouth Public Media Television and began our storytelling on television!
