Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. It's that time of the year again! Many events are happening this week in communities across the country. Whether it's a trunk-or-treat, a Fall Festival, a pumpkin patch, or trick-or-treating, I want to encourage you — look for opportunities to share the love of Christ. The Gospel is always needed, no matter the time of year, holiday, or circumstance. We need to be intentional as Christians and share what Jesus has done with those around us. If you're attending a party, seek out meaningful conversations that could lead to sharing how Christ has changed your life and given you eternal security. If you're giving out candy, consider handing out some Gospel tracts, too. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give you opportunities to share; and when they come, talk about the hope you've found in Christ. Our world desperately needs it. Not sure where to start? Well, we'd love to help! For more Gospel tips and resources to help you share during this season, visit www.sharelife.today.
It was an exciting Sunday at Generations Church as Pastor Brian continued his "Ask It" series! This week he answered the questions: “Why do Christians celebrate Fall Festival even though they know it is an alternative to Halloween?”, “I have never had my baby dedicated, is that a sin? If they have not been dedicated, are they more susceptible to spiritual warfare? Is it OK to dedicate them when they are older.”, “My question is about my elderly parents. They are quickly aging and I am conflicted and feel guilty about some of the decisions I need to make for their long term health and well-being.”, “How do I know if I'm living out God's will, or following the plan he has laid out for me? I feel like I've spent plenty of time in prayer with no clear answers.” and “I have been praying, waiting, and believing for a miracle for a while. I feel a little discouraged and feel like I am losing my faith to believe for this miracle."

In this sermon, Pastor Andy Williamson celebrates the joy of Fall Festival while reflecting on the concept of "costumes" as a metaphor for the ways we hide our true selves to escape reality. He emphasizes that God desires authenticity over pretense, encouraging us to embrace our true identities in Christ and to share the transformative love and forgiveness we receive from Him.Ultimately, Pastor Andy reminds us that, despite our imperfections, we are all valued and called to live out our faith in community.

Today on Main Street TV, Jennifer talks to Jan and Cathy about the Buckeye Furnace Fall Festival. Later in the show, Telegram editor Pete Wilson will be in with today's headlines.
Joseph Workman shares a short message on the changing of seasons.
Chaplain Don Moldstad was preacher for this service. Ephesians 2:4-10: But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Order of Service: - Prelude - Hymn 27 - O Holy Spirit, Enter in: vv. 1, 2, 7, 8 - The Invocation and Confession of Sins (p. 88) - The Kyrie Eleison (Lord have mercy) (p. 89) - The Absolution (p. 89) - The Eyes of All: The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. Psalm 145:15, 16. Jean Berger. - Prayer #116, p. 162 - Deuteronomy 10:12-14: And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good? Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it. - The Gradual (pp. 92-93) - Galatians 3:10-14: For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.” Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. - The Alleluia (pp. 93-94) - John 1:14-18: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.'” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. - The Apostles' Creed (pp. 94-95) - Hymn 555 - Rise Again, Ye Lion-Hearted - Ephesians 2:4-10: But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. - The Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy) (pp. 100-101) - The Lord's Prayer (pp. 101-102) - The Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) (p. 103) - The Collect of Thanks (p. 105) - Hymn 590 - O Happy Day, When We Shall Stand - Hymn 593 - On My Heart Imprint Thine Image Service Participants: Chaplain Don Moldstad (Preacher), Rev. Prof. Mark DeGarmeaux (Organist), BLC Concert Choir (Choral Group), Prof. David Paulson (Choir Director)
Taylor invites you to Build Power with Change Today, Change Tomorrow! All living things go through a process of growth and change over time. It is time to activate our communal power. Join like-minded Black people in community, in conversation, in change for a #FreeFoodFuture. We are devoted to eradicating the food justice and public health barriers that plague Black and marginalized communities. We envision self-sustaining communities that activate self-advocates, ensuring equitable access to nutritious food and fostering food justice. We commit to mentoring kids and teens, instilling positive thinking and self-worth, while also making our staff's lives easier through dedicated support. Entry points to this work include: COMMUNITY ADVISORY COUNCIL: Relying on our neighbors to hold us accountable with constructive feedback sessions WORKING GROUP MEETINGS: Join us on third Saturdays from 10 AM to 12:30 PM to carry the local Black food justice conversation and work. FEED THE WEST: Families have access to weekly fresh and free grocery pick up while we eliminate local grocery surplus. YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL: Shifting the power dynamic and incentiving youth as experts to curate our future youth outreach. TRIBE TIME: Monthly caregiver and parent support group. COMMUNITY FEEDBACK MEETINGS: Sharing responsibilities while developing community projects on land we own. FRESH RX: Food as Medicine! Free weekly produce pick up for expecting mothers. Our vision includes leading community-based research to make policies more equitable and actionable, and making complex decisions more understandable. We aim to disrupt capitalism by creating shared resources, activating people to grow their own food, and establishing barter and trade systems. Education remains at the core of our efforts, helping define the 'perfect neighborhood' and what 'home' truly means. We see Black organizations uniting to commit to this vision, working collaboratively towards a future where everyone thrives.
