Sadly, we lost legendary rocker, Eddie Money, a week or so ago. It was a tradition for me and my friend to see him at the DTE Energy Music Theater every year, and we did so for 23 straight years! Both Darryl and I want to give our sincere condolences to the Money family. Check out the video below for one of my favorite songs.Eddie Money - Baby Hold On0:03:06The Cantina (Star Wars News/General Discussion):Mara Jade may become canonized, thanks to a rumored appearance in The Mandalorian. The question is will she fit into the new canon, or is she better left to the old Expanded Universe (now Legends)?A new Disney Plus series that features Darth Maul may be coming our way. We discuss whether or not this is a good thing, and where in canon this series would best fit. Could we possibly see a live-action version of the Obi Wan vs Maul fight from Rebels?Obi Wan vs Maul DuelApparently, the Rian Johnson trilogy is still coming----at least, according to Rian Johnson. However, when will we see this new series of films? Disney has an aggressive release schedule, with no mention of the new Johnson trilogy.0:24:51Duel of the Fates (Face Off Questions):Should Mace Windu appear in The Rise of Skywalker? With Darth Maul returning from what seemed like a very permanent death, is it possible for Mace Windu to return to the big screen in The Rise of Skywalker? After all, he only lost his hands, and could have survived the fall. We vigorously debate this topic.BONUS: Darryl poses the question as to which Vader line is best:"I find your lack of faith disturbing," or "Don't choke on your aspirations...." This ended up being an in-depth discussion!0:49:14From a Certain Point of View (Featured Topic):Palpatine is returning in The Rise of Skywalker. Of that there is no doubt. However, what is his plan? One rumor suggests that he is going to bring Kylo and Rey together to rule the new Empire, whereas others suggest he will rise up against both the First Order and Resistance. We think we can piece together the overall plan from the scenes we saw in the first trailer, and the D23 Featurette.Rise of Skywalker TrailerRise of Skywalker Featurette (D23)1:05:45Clear Your Mind of Questions (Q and A):Do you think it will be possible for Luke to return to help Rey defeat Palpatine and Kylo? On today’s show, Jer tags along with the Salvation Army’s Bed and Bread truck, which delivers 3,800 meals each day to hungry Detroiters. He also speaks with former Detroit radio legend, Dick Purtan, about the upcoming Bed and Bread Club Radiothon, which runs Thursday through Friday on WJR-AM 760. This week I'm going to try something a little bit different on the Deadpod and bring you a sample of this summer's Dead & Company tour. Personally this happened to be the only show I had the opportunity to attend, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and since I've had some requests for this material I thought I'd share some with you... This is the first set of Dead & Co's show at the DTE Energy Theater in Clarkson MI on July 7th, 2016. It was a beautiful night and the scene was quite relaxing and kind. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect but I was quite pleasantly surprised, and while you may have heard some of this band before I am hoping you'll enjoy this selection.
