[SPOILERS] At the end of Andor we got an end credits scene, where we saw the many pieces of machinery that Cassian and the rest of the inmates in the secret prison were constructing day in and day out. What looked like an upgraded version of buzz droids constructing these pieces, flipped over to create the massive dish of the Death Star, we finally got to see everything come into play. Now, before I elaborate on how Andor changes the fate of the galaxy and really slows Palpatine down, I need to talk about the prison. There obviously was something very weird going on with that prison that the empire kept repeating everyone's sentences, moving them around the prison until they died of old age. This was to prevent them from telling anyone about what they were building when they got out. This means it'll take another while for the death star to be fully operational, and with the possible escape of the prison, all the parts required are delayed. Thank you for listening to today's podcast. I hope you have a great day, and I'll see you in the next one! May the force be with you, ALWAYS! Learn more about your ad choices. In this week's episode, we rank and review the finale of season 1 of Andor with our special guest host, Jake. This series solidified itself in the Star Wars hall-of-fame as being our highest ranked Star Wars series yet and even has Brody backtracking some of his earlier statements from the beginning of the season. To stay up-to-date on all things Duel of the Ranks, be sure to check out our links below!Website: www.dueloftheranks.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/dueloftheranks/Twitter: https://twitter.com/DueloftheRanksTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dueloftheranks?lang=en
[SPOILERS] We start the final episode off at the Repaak Salyard on Ferrix, where Wilmon Paak builds a pipe bomb with the hologram of his late father next to him to inspire his fight against the empire. as we flip over to Dedra landing in a T4-A lambda class shuttle. Whenever you see one of these, there's usually a high ranking Imperial in there, or Vader or Palpatine themselves with troopers. Bixx is recovering from the torture sessions the ISB put her through. Cassian's buddy Brasso meets with the guy who told Cassian about his mother's death over the phone, Xan, and reveals to him that Cassian called. They both keep walking to avoid any lurking eyes and ears of the empire, as they know spies are everywhere waiting for Cassian to arrive for Maarva's funeral. We see Cintra walking the streets of Ferrix while Corv is oblivious for the time being. I think it would have been fun to see Palpatine dissolve some of the nay sayers in the senate, including Mon Mothma, or at least have Mas Amedda in there. I would have liked to have seen more Senate scenes, however the end credit scene was delivered nicely with the death star being built. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Star Wars Andor Episode 12, the Finale, doesn't need any fan service. We don't need to see Palpatine or Boba Fett or Palpatine, but I think it would be cool nonetheless. I think not having these main characters in the show, bolsters their presence, or rather, lack thereof, even more. However, I could see Palpatine showing up at the end at the senate hearing, as well as the Empire hiring Boba Fett or some Bounty Hunter to capture Cassian Andor, as the Empire's ISB continuously fails. This job is too low for Vader to care. Thank you for listening to today's podcast. I hope you have a great day, and I'll see you in the next one! May the force be with you, ALWAYS! Ever wonder what happened BEFORE the prequel to Star Wars? No one did. But they made a book about it anyway! And hey, it's definitely got its merits. Today on Authorized, Mark Stay returns to tackle Star Wars: Catalyst, the book that explains how Galen and Orson became the weird ex-friends they are in Rogue One. We discuss Mas Ameda, Poggle the Lesser, and try to tease apart how exactly Palpatine planned all this out. Seems pretty fraught as far as evil designs go. So this is an interesting question and one that was raised at the end of Tales of the Jedi when Dooku told Palpatine that Qui Gon could have been a powerful ally, had he not died. Sidious said, for you, and the conversation started to shift. So today, let's discuss the possibility of qui-gon actually turning away from the Jedi and joining Dooku. Now before we begin we need to understand Qui-Gon a little bit better for those new to the channel and to Star Wars. Qui-Gon was a maverick. He went his own way. He wasn't on the Jedi council by choice, he knew the decisions he made and his overall view of the force was what made him unfit in the council's eyes. For example, many fans would argue that qui-gon Jinn's use of the force to manipulate the chance cube with Watto was an act of the Dark Side, or rather, more in the middle of light and dark, grey some would call it. I always saw it as him balancing the odds since Watto's chance cube was rigged by Watto himself. Qui-Gon was all about trusting the force, and believing balance was key. This is why he would have literally been the best father figure and teacher to Anakin, preventing his whole downfall. Now, here's an excerpt from the book master and apprentice which is canon. It's a quote from qui-gon jinn to rael aveross who was once Dooku's apprentice that Qui-Gon grew close with. "I don't turn toward the light because it means someday I'll 'win' some sort of cosmic game. I turn toward it because it is the light." Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
This week we're ranking Andor Season 1 Ep. 10: One Way Out. With Brody out this week, Amanda & Christian take it upon themselves to praise this series unhinged with the full power of the Force. We examine the music, sacrifices, and dehumanization taking place. With a legendary monologue by Luthen, Kino Loy's heroic leadership, and Cassian working it all from the shadows, there's a lot to love about this episode that will probably go down in history as one of the greats.

Another happy landing! This week, we're army-crawling to the finish line of the Prequel Era. In our recap of Revenge of the Sith (Part One), we talk about the gorgeous visuals, tight plotting, absolutely delightful banter and compelling themes of Star Wars' final prequel film. We talk about Anakin and Obi-Wan vanquishing their ultimate foes, R2 disassembling Grievous's droid army, Palpatine's completely insidious (heh) manipulation of EVERYBODY, and the forces tugging Anakin to the Dark Side (and back to the Light). Next week, we're finishing Revenge of the Sith. Then, we'll have a surprise special guest for the final episodes of The Clone Wars: “Shattered” and “Victory and Death.” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/growingupskywalker/message
On this podcast, we discuss the new animated series Tales of the Jedi and discuss whether or not Count Dooku was justified in joining the dark side due to the pervasive corruption in the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Council's inability to think for themselves. Through three animated shorts, we get a deep dive into life and times of Dooku and see how he slowly comes to terms with the noble Republic not being what it seems. We parallel the prequel conflict between Palpatine and the Republic to the Russian vs. Ukraine situation - just because one side appears to be a victim, are they 100% faultless in their own downfall? In Tales of the Jedi we saw the climactic end to Yaddles life at the hands of Count Dooku. It seemed Yaddle was one of the only Jedi who wasn't disillusioned with politics and disbelief that the Sith had returned. When she followed Dooku to the works which was a secret meeting spot for Sidious and his apprentices, she learned of the true nature of Dooku and Sidious' intentions to destroy the Jedi. It was here that Dooku was ordered to kill Yaddle as a final test of loyalty to Darth Sidious, his new master. Before defending herself, she gave Dooku the option to join her and kill Sidious. So what if Dooku did join her? That's what we'll discover in today's fan fiction. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Zuhair and Andrew go back a long time ago and to a galaxy far, far away to provide their reactions to Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, the new animated series of shorts now available on Disney Plus!
During the funeral in both Revenge of the Sith and Tales of the Jedi, we saw Padme's lifeless body being mourned in Theed City on Naboo with hundreds of thousands of people there paying their respects. In Tales of the Jedi we learned that Ahsoka was actually in the crowd as well, and while this of course wasn't in Revenge of the Sith, so don't bother trying to find her like Waldo in the crowd, as she didn't exist at the time since George Lucas hadn't released the clone wars series yet. She was seen in her gown holding the Japor Snippet that Anakin had given her when he was 9 on the ship and we see her as pregnant. It is confirmed in the Revenge of the Sith novel, that Yoda orders her to have a pregnant bump during the ceremony because he doesn't want the Empire to think the children are still alive, and for Palpatine and Vader to come looking for what they think is just one child. On this podcast, we dive into episode 9 of Andor titled “Nobody's Listening.” We talk about Kino and his faulty logic regarding following the rules and being a good prisoner (which parallels to the Biblical truth of faith over works), Palpatine keeping the Senate around as an artificial government body, psychological torture, and fighting for a just cause by being strong and courageous (referencing Joshua 1:9 from the Old Testament). [SPOILERS] As Cassian tries to break out of jail, it reminded me of the great escape. Bix is exhausted, and she reveals all the information about Cassian to the Empire. As we see the constant degeneration of Ulaf, the team know something is off and he's becoming a major liability for them. The senate scenes are probably some of my favourite in the show. As we see the senate, thee same one that palpatine and yoda fought in during revenge of the Sith, mon mothma opposes Palpatine's new safety regulations and we hear someone say long live the emperor. This was a huge plan of Palpatine's. He had made the entire galaxy hate the Jedi, even going as far as spending the lie that the Jedi killed senators including padme and even tried to kill him when they came to his office. We see many of the pods turning their lights off, which means they're not interested and not in favour of mon Mothma's political views. Mon Mothma has a hard time at the senate and leaves, only to find out that Vel is in town to visit her. What did you think of the episode? Thank you for listening to today's podcast. Welcome back to another Fantasy Battle, today we're going to analyze the fantasy fight between Palpatine and Count Dooku. Now, before some of you scoff and say well Palpatine would obviously win, and while you are probably right, I think it'd be interesting to deep dive into their fighting styles, force powers and overall psychology to see how the fight would really turn out. Would it be more difficult for Palpatine than the Jedi he fought in his office? Or would it be easier? Thank you for listening to today's podcast. In The Spoiler Room: Andor episode 8 titled “Narkina” FeedbackNathan writes in “You mention how weird it is to hear people mentioning Palpatine because he should be this figure who is so high up that no one should be talking to. I just wanted to add that I think this shows just how high in the ranks Yularen is. He's not just another Imperial dressing everyone down. He's delivering a message directly from the Emperor himself, which is an incredibly rare event and therefore taken very seriously.” Russ in Indianapolis: “I haven't really seen or heard anyone discussing this, so I was curious: Do you think it's possible that Dedra Meero is Cassian's lost sister? We know little about her background, but it doesn't seem unlikely that the Empire found the children and put them to work. (The actress, Denise Gough, is only a couple months younger than Diego Luna, but it could work.” Brief reactions BreakdownAndor Episode 8 Is One Bleak Hour Of Star Wars, But It Offers A Glimmer Of Hope Speculation All the other stuff you need to know: You can find more about all the stories we mentioned on today's show at slashfilm.com, and linked inside the show notes. /Film Daily is published every weekday, bringing you the most exciting news from the world of movies and television as well as deeper dives into the great features from slashfilm.com. In Andor episode 7, we had Cassian's flashback of the Clone Troopers during the empire, roughly 2-3 years AFTER Revenge of the Sith, where Anakin Skywalker met his demise as the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar and turned into the suited Darth Vader. Why are Clone Troopers still around during this time of the Empire? Why aren't there stormtroopers? The answer is because it took time for the Clones to be thrown out, and for the Stormtroopers to take their place. Palpatine wanted a grand army, he didn't care anymore for the costly use of Clone Troopers. He wanted a new face to the empire, and therefore Stormtroopers were the way to go, but with larger numbers. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

What if in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker fought Mace Windu? What if during the arrest scene, Anakin was actually there while Palpatine fought the Jedi and then Mace Windu? Welcome to episode 34 ohana! It todays episode we do our very first draft! Let me set the mood. Hades, Thanos and Palpatine have taken over the GALAXY!! Its our job to put together a team to defeat them! We will draft a leader, smarts/tech person, sneaky person and a muscle! Lets see who we all pick! May the brew be with you! CC
In Star Wars we see Stormtroopers easily die from one single blaster shot, or do they? We'll go into the origins of their armor, what it was made from, and how certain enemies caused them fatalities or mere injuries. Palpatine has accomplished a lot...which we saw most of in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith...however there were some things he didn't care for...and that was the quality of his troops. He felt numbers were the most important thing...whereas the First Order is focusing mostly on how well they perform. This makes a much better fit when backing Kylo Ren vs Darth Vader in the Original Trilogy. I wonder how Snoke's Praetorian Guards will behave in Star Wars The Last Jedi...They're supposed to have a very action packed scene in the film to demonstrate their power...I'm pumped! [SPOILERS] Episode 4 I really enjoyed. While I feel casual Star Wars fans may find it too slow, I found it to be really engaging with the lore and overall trajectory of where the show will go. I think Andor is on its way to be a really great show with what I just saw. The show dives into the cogs and gears of the empire as well as the early formation of the rebellion and I can't wait to see more of the smaller characters as well as the bigger main ones. Such as Mas Amedda, sly Moore, krennic, Tarkin, thrown, Vader, and Palpatine. -To get your new wireless plan for just 15 bucks a month, and get the plan shipped to your door for FREE, go to MINTMOBILE.com/swt. -Get 20% Off and Free Shipping with the code [SWTHEORY] at Manscaped.com. -Download the DraftKings Sportsbook app NOW and use promo code SWT to get TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS in FREE bets INSTANTLY when you place a five-dollar bet this Sunday! -Start hiring NOW with a SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLAR SPONSORED JOB CREDIT to sponsor your job post at Indeed.com/STARWARSTHEORY. Crime, immigration and the economy are the keys to a GOP midterm victory. Buck says, "'Economy, the border, crime.' I'm going to sleep at night muttering this to myself. That's how focused in we are on this." Polls breaking in favor of Republicans. If your family's safety matters, the midterms matter. In today's episode of Star Wars Theory, we cover Darth Vader comic issue 21+ 22 where he is bombarded by a cybernetic overpowered Rancor!! This monster has its pain receptors turned off, so it can't feel pain, it also has adrenal injectors and can prevent itself from being force choked!! Also In Star Wars Legends Darth Vader and the 9th Assassin, Darth Vader killed some of Palpatine's Royal Red Guards...HOW? WHY? Caps lock is the answer. Learn more about your ad choices. In Star Wars some things have been made Canon whereas others have been left in Legends. In the Canon novel Lords of the Sith, we see Darth Vader speak in the ancient Sith tongue to Palpatine. The book is followed by "Tarkin" which I recommend, as well. It would be cool to see Darth Vader speak this language in the movies...just imagine if we got a Star Wars Trailer of it someday for a new anthology film. Perhaps Snoke speaks this language, and Kylo Ren learns it too...only time will tell... Sith Lords were called Sith Lords for a reason...but there's much more to it than that...find out some information today on the hundred year darkness in Star Wars lore. [SPOILERS] Andor is dark and gritty and definitely brings a new feel to the galaxy of Star Wars, however the first 3 episodes were way too slow and dragged out unnecessarily. I think the show will be interesting for sure, however taking so long to explain such a simple story so far didn't need to take up 3 episode slots of the 12 we get. Cassian Andor is a gateway to develop more of the Empire and to show us the senate that Palpatine eventually dissolves. I hope we see Krennic, Tarkin, Vader, and Palpatine at some points in the show. President Biden gave a speech before a blood-red background in front of Liberty Hall late last week, explicitly identifying a large chunk of the GOP as threats to democracy. How large? Biden won't say--or what he does say, he walks back. Will this message really play with a significant portion of the electorate, or have Biden and his team confused Twitter for real life? Meanwhile, in real life itself, everything seems to be getting worse: school test scores have taken a twenty-year drop in the wake of COVID shutdowns, and life expectancy continues to tick downward as well. Plus: California is raising alarms about potential power grid failures in the midst of a summer heatwave. How can we avoid despair, and what are the opportunities amid all this decline? Our editors discuss.
Joe Biden delivers a speech with optics that echoed Mussolini and Palpatine. The Biden administration then labels half the country as "extreme." In sports, "Lou Holtz" joins the show to talk all things college football. Speedy reports on his duties as the stadium hype man for UAB football. And lastly, Kanye West has gone so crazy, Rick actually agrees with Kim Kardashian about something. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
