Mr. Schenk is a Canadian born entrepreneur and investor with a proven track record of success within the transportation technology sector. He has previously developed and sold two telematics companies; Telkar based in Canada and Elcon based in Europe. In 2010 Schenk joined XATA following the acquisition of Turnpike Global and Geologic. Mr. Schenk was tasked with merging three distinct businesses into a single entity and solution which once complete lead to the rebranding of the company to XRS (NASDAQ; XRSC). XRS was sold to Omnitracs in 2014 for $178M. Schenk recognized the opportunity to shift many of the IoT (Internet of things) learnings such as data analytics, machine learning and predictive modeling to the Social and Content Marketing sector.In 2017 Schenk entered the payments industry where he formed several new ventures including a freight factoring alternative, BNK which pays truck drivers based on achieving route defined milestones and IPTS a recreation & hospitality employee same day pay solution that enables employees to get paid daily vs waiting till payday. Schenk holds several board seats in the rideshare, supply chain and mobile technology industries. Previously, he formed one of the largest networks of professional truck drivers, ONE20 which was sold in mid 2017. ONE20 offered routing, navigation and social intelligence to its more than 700,000 members and monetized by selling content and advertising based on personal personas, relevance and location.

In this podcast, John Brodowski, the deputy mayor of Bordentown City, New Jersey, reviews the background of the proposed Elcon hazardous waste treatment facility site in Falls Township and makes a case for why neighboring communities should oppose this project. His comments were recorded at a February 6, 2019, Elcon Update Meeting at the Fallsington Friends Meeting House, sponsored by a variety of environmental groups including the Delaware Riverkeeper Network and POWA, which is an acronym for Protect Our Water and Air.

This episode is a little different since Robert is covering a life event. In this episode, Robert provides live commentary to Tesla's unveil of their semi-autonomous, electric, semi-truck. This is the event that was originally promised this summer, but then delayed until September, but then delayed until November. In typical Tesla fashion, Elon announced that the unveil would occur at 11pm EST on November 16th, but then it was delayed until 11:15pm.  After the truck unveil, Elon had a special surprise!!!! In this episode, Robert joins the live event online. While getting temporarily delayed, he explores designing his dream Model S before the live event starts. The live event starts with the trucks driving onto the stage. Elcon then highlights the exceptional acceleration and speed capabilities of the trucks. These trucks could reach 60 mph up a 5% slope while traditional trucks would struggle to reach 45 mph. Elon also discussed the great aerodynamic properties of the truck, the fantastic recharge capabilities, and some other cool stuff. It cost a hefty $5,000 deposit to register to buy a truck. I am not sure how many people will register for a truck since many people are still waiting on the Model 3 that they registered for almost two years ago. Overall, the truck was lackluster. It is a very cool concept, and will significantly help the environment, but until we have a cost and can validate a business case for the trucks, the verdict is out. After some technical difficulties, the show resumed and Elon had a freaking awesome surprise that I don't think anyone was expecting. Listen to the episode for the details.
