This is my latest podcast and it's called favourites, as it is the first full mix of nothing but my favourite dance tracks that I have discovered since I started DJ-ing over 2 years ago. We're back in business, with Allsorts, so named because it has a bit of everything. Starting off with a bit of mainstream pop, we've got Manhattan Clique remixing Diana Vickers' debut Once, Alexandra Burke's new hot off the promo press Cahill remix for All Night Long, then onto my rediscovery of some older mixes from the Buzz Junkies. Things get a bit harder with Little Boots, and then the obligatory thumping Wawa mix, with Sun's Fancy Free getting the treatement! Then we move into the downright funky house with mixes by Warren Clarke, E-Squire, and the Bassmonkeys. To finish things off, is the first 2010 mix from the Freemasons re-working Sophie Ellis-Bextor's brand spanking new single Bittersweet. After a long wait (not my fault - it's usual for this time of year!), and a bitterly cold northern winter, it's time for some Southern Sun. A bit more of a set with a few peaks and troughs, Southern Sun starts out with some mainstream campness of Katerine, Mini Viva and Cascada, who is doing her best GaGa impression (with Cahill doing the mix she immediately trumps any of GaGa's own remixes!). Things get a bit harder with the relentless WaWa mix of Sugababes' Wear My Kiss, then things take a softer turn with Cheryl Cole's newy Parachute, a David Guetta/Kid Cudi track that's been bubbling around for a few months, and a nice little Vandalism remix that has really grown on me. Then things go up a gear with newer version of the house classic Bodyswerve, then up 4 gears with a magic Chicane stomper, and to finish things off is a little Junior Caldera number with Sophie Ellis Bextor on vocals.
