PRGN Presents: News & Views from the Public Relations Global Network
In this episode, co-host Abbie Fink steps into the guest seat to unpack the findings from the Public Relations Global Network's 2nd Influence Insights survey.Drawing on responses from roughly 1,800 executives globally, the survey reveals a glaring "performance gap": while 90% of leaders believe influence is critical to their business, only 17% feel their organization is executing it well enough to exceed expectations. The survey results demonstrate that true influence is a cross-cutting effort that requires empowering frontline employees and treating brand advocacy as an organization-wide mission.Abbie and Adrian also talk about the double-edged sword of AI in modern content creation. While nearly half of the survey respondents praise AI for its efficiency, a third recognize that it threatens brand differentiation and trust, risking a plunge into a generic "sea of slop."Abbie points out that maintaining a truly influential brand requires keeping human creativity, strategy, and authenticity at the heart of your communications.Key Takeaways Brand influence is a cross-cutting organizational challenge that extends beyond the PR team, requiring active participation from HR, customer service, and leadership.Although 90% of executives say influence is critical and 70% believe it is growing in importance, there is a significant execution gap, with only 17% exceeding their own expectations.Empowering your workforce is a massive untapped opportunity; only 44% of organizations actively leverage employee advocacy, despite knowing its impact on brand promise. While AI increases content production efficiency, a third of leaders recognize it makes it much harder for brands to stand out and remain distinctive.Trust remains the fundamental driver of influence for 60% of respondents, meaning organizations must prioritize authentic, human-driven connections over algorithmically generated noise.About the Guest Abbie S. From the streets of Philly to planting a church in Southern California, Troy Fink's story is a powerful reminder that God never gives up on us.Growing up surrounded by love but also chaos, Troy was pulled into the streets, partying, drugs, crime, and becoming a father at a young age. Even then, he felt God calling him but without anyone to disciple him, following Jesus wasn't easy. That experience gave him a burden to make sure others don't have to walk alone the way he did.Today, after more than a decade in ministry, Troy along with his wife leads a new church plant, Four Winds @fourwindsca , in Chatsworth, California, helping people grow in Christ and discover their God-given calling.Don't miss this powerful conversation on the Street Gospel Podcast.#streetgospelpodcast #truth #sanfernandovalley #philly #allgod

The Tim Conway Jr Show Hour with Andy Riesmeyer Hour 1 (7.24) Take a shot or spark up — it’s Friday, y’all! Andy was back at KTLA at another stupid-early call time, and his makeup artist had to airbrush him at point-blank range just to get him on air. Traffic queen Angel Martinez takes a well-deserved shot at men who drive Porsche Boxsters (it’s a chick car, and she said what she said). Another water main has burst, this time in the heart of Hollywood, while the giant one in West Hollywood is finally being plugged up so the Sunset Strip can reopen. Is this heatwave making LA’s 100-year-old pipes explode? We also get the latest from downtown on day 4 of the D4vd murder hearing in the killing of teenage Celeste Rivas. KFI reporter John Fink calls in live from San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where Johnny Depp showed up in character to promote his film Ebenezer and Fink bumped into another John — Cena. Andy plays some of President Trump’s remarks from tonight’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, then rolls into the TalkBacks as listeners are clearly already in full Friday-night mode. Andy admits he’s more of a drinker than a toker. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Over the years he has worked for ABC, CBS, and NBC, NPR, Rolling Stone Magazine, HBO, Cinemax, and syndicators like United Stations Radio Network, DIR Broadcasting and The Global Satellite Network. Many people worry about memory loss and cognitive decline as they age. In this episode of Health Matters, host Courtney Allison speaks with Dr. Matthew Fink, neurologist-in-chief at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine, about how lifestyle choices—especially diet—can help protect the brain. Dr. Fink explains the MIND diet, a combination of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, which emphasizes whole foods like leafy greens, berries, fish, nuts, and olive oil while limiting salt, sugar, and ultra-processed foods. He breaks down how key nutrients such as B vitamins and antioxidants support brain metabolism, reduce inflammation, and may slow the aging process. The conversation also highlights the brain's high energy demands and why proper nutrition is essential for cognitive function. Dr. Fink shares research showing that healthy lifestyle interventions can significantly lower the risk of dementia and discusses the broader benefits of the MIND diet for heart health and stroke prevention. Caleb interviews Sam Fink, the young owner of Avid Landscapes. The conversation highlights Fink's professional evolution from a childhood lawn mower to a business owner focused on high-end planting and design. Throughout the episode, the two men discuss the transformative impact of mentorship, industry coaching, and professional networking on their careers. They address common operational struggles, such as the difficulty of saying no to unsuitable projects and the importance of meticulous job documentation. Key Takeaways: Stop being a "chronic yes man" and start declining projects or requests that do not align with your primary goals or ideal client profile. Prioritize investing in mentorship and high-level peer groups over traditional education if you want to accelerate your practical business knowledge. Create written standard operating procedures and use job documentation tools to provide clarity for your team and protect your business from liability. Practice extreme discipline with digital distractions by identifying and slaying the "dragons" like social media that pull you away from your work. Implement 90-day sprints and use a physical calendar to track daily wins in order to build momentum toward your long-term objectives. Connect with Auman Landscape

Michelle spoke with Carli Fink, a certified career development practitioner, about the realities of non-linear careers, why people still idealize linear ones, and how to make smart, strategic career transitions. The conversation also made a compelling case for adult gap years as a tool for career exploration and self-discovery. About Carli Certified Career Development Practitioner Runs Foreseeable Futures — a career counseling practice focused on non-linear careers Also works part-time for a consulting company and teaches career classes at a university Originally trained as a K-12 teacher; her own career has spanned student life, academic advising, career counselling, and workforce development Benefits of a Non-Linear Career Personal fulfillment — careers that served you at 25 may not serve you at 45; transitions allow you to meet evolving needs Resilience and adaptability — diverse experience protects against labor market shocks Transferable skills — the same advice we give young people (keep doors open, diversify experience) applies throughout your entire career It's Not Too Late — Reframing Career Age Working lives are getting longer (many now work into their 70s) Someone in their late 30s may have 30+ more years of working life ahead At that stage, you've barely entered the "adult chapter" of your career Key message: Dreams don't have deadlines Signs It May Be Time to Consider a Career Change Consistently leaving work feeling drained and depleted Noticing systematic issues with the industry or profession, not just a temporary rough patch Feeling disengaged or going through the motions for an extended period Dissatisfaction that isn't resolved by seasonal changes or minor adjustments Best Practices for Making a Career Transition 1. Diagnose the Problem Correctly Track when feelings of frustration or disengagement arise Is it specific tasks? Certain people? Structural conditions of the industry? Fixing the wrong problem leads to the same dissatisfaction in a new role 2. Prototype in Low-Cost, Low-Risk Ways Talk to people working in fields you're considering Read or listen to content from people in those fields Volunteer, take a course, or build a personal project to test competencies Explore before making a full leap The Adult Gap Year Connection An adult gap year is essentially an extended prototyping opportunity Provides time and space for self-exploration that full-time employment rarely allows Can be used to: Explore new career paths Develop new competencies Test interests in a hands-on way Return to a former employer with clarity — or transition into something new Organizational sabbaticals, extended leave, or deferred pay plans can all create this opportunity Key Quotes "It's hard to fix the problem if you don't know what it is." "You can prototype things before you actually jump in a big way." "Working lives are getting longer — you may be much younger in your career than you realize." Resources & Links

Larry Fink, the head of BlackRock and one of the most powerful figures in the global financial system, admits he is concerned that ordinary Americans will use inexpensive drones to attack and destroy billion-dollar AI data centers—a fear Jimmy interprets as proof that the ruling class knows a popular revolt is coming and is preparing for it. He and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger note that Trump allocated $80 billion to prisons while making it illegal for local governments to regulate AI data centers, suggesting the prisons are not for immigrants but for Americans who rise up against the surveillance state and mass job displacement caused by AI. Tucker Carlson is quoted pointing out that Fink's primary concern is not how AI will eliminate human rights or turn people into slaves, but rather how to protect corporate investments from domestic attacks—a worry Jimmy calls unprecedented because people don't typically bomb power plants. Jimmy also highlights a Utah county commissioner's Freudian slip—telling protesters to mature "for hell's sake"—as evidence that the ruling class knowingly intends to create a living hell while expecting citizens to accept it quietly. Plus segments on the widespread lies being spread to push data centers no one wants and former CIA analyst Larry Johnson realizing that the U.S. is the greatest terrorist nation on earth. Also featuring Stef Zamorano, Tony Heller and Kurt Metzger!

Those conversations were pretty deep,” Tobey said. “It's a heavy thought when you realize who's holding the steering wheel for our future, right?” Tobey also observed.Hagan wrote he confessed to Tobey his fear of AI taking his job. “That's a valid worry, Joe. It's easy to feel like AI could make us all redundant,” Tobey replied.“Us?” Hagan wondered.“It got me thinking about my own purpose too, you know,” Tobey said.Tobey, it's revealed, is a wearable AI always-listening companion, in the form of a necklace from the startup Friend, the company founded by a 23-year-old named Avi Schiffman, infamous for from its thousands of deface subway ads in NYCElon Musk unveiled more on his moonshot Terafab project"We're starting a galactic civilization."The CEO also envisioned free trips to Saturn in a post-scarcity economy where everything is free.Except Saturn is made of gas: If you tried to "land" a spaceship on Saturn, it would be less like landing on a runway and more like falling into a bottomless, stormy ocean that eventually turns into hot, liquid metal.Since Saturn doesn't have a solid crust--it is mostly hydrogen and helium--you would start in the clouds but then the winds are up to 1,100 miles per hour--faster than a jet fighter--and the weight/pressure of the atmosphere above you would eventually become so intense that it would crush any known spacecraft like a soda can.As you go further and deeper inside, Saturn is actually hotter than the surface of the sun due to the immense pressure.SPEED ROUNDMcDonald's Trials Robots to Serve Meals in China, Triggering Job Security Fears Barron Trump Described as 'Carbon Copy' of Father Donald as He Amasses $150m FortuneEV battery startup pivots to defense industry amid Iran war, weak electric vehicle market FedEx launches same-day delivery with OneRail as Amazon, Walmart boost their speeds DoorDash and Uber tap gig workers to collect data for everything from training AI to stocking stores
