I have been wanting to do a best of Almighty mix since the first one I released for Division 4 a few years back. Like the Hex Hector and 7th Heaven anthologies, there is just so much music to choose from, hence the reason I decided to break it up into a part 1 and a part 2. The track selection for part 1 was a long and drawn out process. There were so many songs I wanted to include and before I knew it, I was up to 50+ songs. Coming to my senses, I trimmed this down to 36 tracks sitting in the 124 to 130 BPM range. Part 2 will explore the higher energy remixes from 132 BPM plus. Almighty officially launched in 1989 with their aim to produce dance remixes of tracks that did not have suitable remixes for the club scene at the time. These tracks were mostly covers of the original artists but they do have an extensive list or remixes for original artists as well. My formative clubbing years were in the 90's and the Almighty sound was synonymous with uplifting, driving dance tracks. Almighty had a team of in house remixers/producers as well as remix teams that would come in on an ad hoc basis. John Dixon who went on to form 7th Heaven was an original in house producer. Almighty releases songs with singers, a lot of whom perform under pseudonym's, as a policy for not identifying already famous singer/song writers in the form of 'projects'. Although they were well established in the gay club music scene by the end of the 1990's, Almighty gained world wide attention when they produced and mixed singles for Cher such as "Believe" and "All Or Nothing" (one of personal favourites). They have since gone on to remix songs for Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole, Usher, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and even Elvis Presley. Their remixes are aptly titled 'definitive', 'essential', 'transensual', pop'd up' and 'anthem'. If you enjoy hands in the air, pure joy vocals on the dance floor, then this is the mix for you. Get ready for the adrenaline rush that is Almighty. EnjoyAnthony1/ "YOUNG HEARTS RUN FREE" - RESPECT ft. In this episode of Orgasmica, Virginia Novello speaks with Heidi Rojas, a successful hit songwriter and proud first-generation Latina based in Los Angeles. Heidi has co-written major chart-topping songs, including Little Mix's "Wings" and Cheryl Cole's "Crazy Stupid Love." The conversation dives into the sacredness of songwriting, where Heidi explains how songs can become a powerful form of expression and connection. One key topic is the beautiful interplay of language, particularly Spanglish, in Heidi's music. She shares why integrating both English and Spanish in her songwriting is important—it reflects her identity and resonates with a large community of listeners who navigate multiple cultures. This fusion of languages in her work symbolizes a broader cultural connection and representation of the Latinx experience. They also discuss Heidi's role as a songwriting and artist development coach, helping creatives worldwide find their voice and express their art authentically. This episode highlights not just the craft of songwriting but also the emotional and cultural significance behind it. https://www.heidirojas.com Instagram
When we are trying to get some of our favourite people on as guests, it's always a challenge to get diaries to align! However, when the guest is the legend that is Fay Fife ( Rezillos, Revillos, The Countess Of Fife) and she tells us she has a spare 30 minutes – we were up for making that happen. And it goes without saying that Fay didn't disappoint. From her first gigs as a cinema attendant watching the Sensational Alex Harvey Band in Dunfermline, to watching the Cramps at CBGBs in the late 1970s, to travelling to Manchester to see James Brown, Fay used our time together to good effect. We also nearly namechecked Cheryl Cole ( but didn't), discussed the genius of Prince, and talked about some of the fantastic performers that Fay is still hoping to see on her extended bucket list. Oh, and Fay also mentioned the time she walked over 40 miles back from a gig from Glasgow to Edinburgh. No, really… Lastly, we also got a couple of killer live album recommendations to get our ears around. We covered all the bases, and a few more, and still came in under our 30 minutes diary window. Many thanks for Fay for taking the time to join us – and if you haven't already, do check out The Countess Of Fife. They are very special indeed. Enjoy & stay safe

We've talked about a few gimmick diets in the past on Do You Really Know, and here's another one: the "baby food" diet. Now you may not have heard of it, but it has gained popularity among celebrities worldwide. Rumours have abound in the past suggesting that stars like Jennifer Aniston, Lady Gaga, and Cheryl Cole were embracing it, Due to the quick slimming it promises through low-calorie meals. The diet involves consuming between ten and fourteen jars of baby food over the course of the day, for a duration of fifteen days. The baby food replaces the first two meals of the day, but in the evening a "normal meal" is allowed. The diet was crafted by renowned American celebrity trainer coach Tracy Anderson in the 2000s. It sounds pretty extreme though, doesn't it? Aren't extreme diets generally discouraged anyway? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! In the episode the pair catch up after a long ten days without a rendezvous, they discuss the state of the gafs for rent in Dublin, Rihanna's Super Bowl performance and Valentine's Day before getting down to this weeks theme: Fad Diets. Neither of the two are shy to admit that they struggle with dysmorphic thinking in relation to their image and they open up about how they continue to work on accepting their bodies while screaming at some of the chaotic fad diets they tried over the years. Padraig recalls how he worked the room at Weight Watchers and was fleeced by a pyramid scheme in a bid to lose a few pounds. Pj shares traumatic stories of casting calls and auditions in London as a 6ft+ pastey Irish boy with a skinhead and love handles. TW: This episode raises issues around body dysmorphia and disordered thinking around food. If you find that you might need help or support in dealing with any of the topics discussed, please reach out to a friend, family member or professional for help and remember to be kind to yourself xFind some more information below:https://www.bodywhys.ie/https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/eating-disorders/ Hosted on Acast. It's 2020! We begin the new year with a newer artist! Ed Sheeran is the subject of famed U.K. celebrity biographer Sean Smith who we sit down and discuss in detail his latest book, simply called, “Ed Sheeran”.Ed Sheeran is a true inspiration. His moving and uplifting songs forge a lasting connection with the millions of people around the world who love him and his music. He was the thirteen-year-old guitarist in a school rock band when he decided to become a singer-songwriter, even though he could barely hold a tune and had never written a song. Within a year, he had recorded an album in his bedroom.Bestselling biographer Sean Smith traces the astonishing journey of the shy little boy with a stammer who, avoiding flashy showmanship, grew up to be a global phenomenon.Through compelling new research and interviews, he tells the story of Ed's remarkable mum and dad who gave their son the courage to pursue his dream, the friends and mentors who encouraged him and the lovers who inspired his most famous songs.Smith describes the setbacks Ed faced before his fortunes were transformed by Elton John's management company, a record deal and a song that changed everything - with a little help from Taylor Swift.Ed found it difficult to cope with the world at his feet, but a new relationship with a girl from his home town has brought him happiness and a fresh purpose in life. Now he is the most successful solo star on the planet, earning £83 million last year. Yet in the middle of his record-breaking 2018 UK tour, he played for just 400 people at a charity night to raise money for the homeless. As this captivating book reveals, there's no one quite like Ed.Sean Smith is the UK's leading celebrity biographer and the author of five Sunday Times best sellers including Cheryl, the definitive biography of Cheryl Cole. His books about the most famous people of our times have been translated throughout the world. His subjects include Robbie Williams, Kate Middleton, Tulisa, Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Alesha Dixon,Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston and J. K. Rowling.
