Hello and a very warm welcome to this, the latest instalment of The Football Ramble. The UEFA Nations League returns and Gareth’s Guys prepare to face Croatia behind closed doors with a couple of Marcuses in there. Just don’t get relegated, guys. It’s an exciting and intriguing week as there’s some exciting yoot throughout the competition, which we touch on before coming up with some Original Content about Ryan Giggs, talking about Nando’s black cards and learning about Pete’s storage options. It only seems right to tell you now that there is a double dose of Kevin Keegan, and warn you that we’ve set you some homework about old memes. Your key words are “Beefy” and “Taffin”.This show is sponsored by bet365Search ‘Football Ramble’ on social media to find us, and email us here: show@thefootballramble.com***Please take the time to rate and review us on iTunes or wherever you get your pods. It's Thursday so it must be time for another preview show from The Football Ramble! What ho!This time around, we're casting our eyes across buoyant Brighton's trip to Anfield - can Chris Hughton's United-slayers cause another upset? After that we anticipate Jack Wilshere's return to Arsenal in his capacity as 50% of West Ham's engine room, followed by Newcastle United hosting Chelsea and loads more. There's also a dramatic Going for Glold and of course a Best Bet to look forward to, so strap yourselves in and get ready to head to Ramble Town. Let's go!This show is sponsored by bet365.***Please take the time to rate and review us on iTunes or wherever you get your pods. It's almost the weekend which means it must be time for yet another preview show! And boy oh boy are there some games to sink our teeth into (there always are to be fair, because that's how football works). First up, Fulham head to Wembley to face Spurs and attempt to exorcise their Crystal Palace-related demons, and we ruminate on when those north Londoners are ever going to be in their new home. After that we applaud Mike Ashley's attempt to save the great British high street before taking a look at their appointment in Cardiff, before wondering if anyone is ever going to cut Unai Emery some slack. There's also all your usual favourites, including emails, Going 4 Glold and lots more. To get involved, it's show@thefootballramble.com. Love you! This show is sponsored by bet365.***Please take the time to rate and review us on iTunes or wherever you get your pods. After a time getting acquainted with Claude Puel’s radiator Riyad Mahrez is ready for FA Cup action, as are Spurs as they head to Rochdale’s obstacle course of a pitch, and Man United hope to cause an upset by finding a way past Huddersfield. There are special days for Neymar and Kevin Keegan, an expose on the devious Going for Glold tactics of our dear host and a lot of painful, disruptive head turning. The FA Cup rolls on with a delightful cameo from Shola Ameobi, West Ham fans get angry and we hear more tales of humility from Man of the People Carlos Tevez. Elsewhere Mick McCarthy turns a phrase, Leeds get lost in translation and Marcus gets his hope back. There’s also time to hear about Luke’s trip to Fratton Park, play a vintage edition of Going for Glold and an honest assessment of Rodney Parade.Search ‘Football Ramble’ on social media to find us, and email us here: show@thefootballramble.comTo take advantage of our Harry’s razors offer and get a trial set for just £3.95, it’s: http://harrys.com/ramble Further reading:West Ham transfers: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/911398/West-Ham-transfer-news-revealed-Insider-reveals-deals-which-will-and-won-t-be-doneFA Cup latest, including Wigan and Notts County: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42846623 Portsmouth lose to Shrewsbury: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42756510 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Pete’s uncouth army roll into North London and leave with nothing, Man City do their thing against Spurs but there’s a surprising consolation for Mousa Dembele and David Moyes continues the renaissance not a single person doubted was coming. As well as all this Roy the Boy rides back into town, Sunderland save some face and undo the embarrassment of the past year and there is CONTROVERSY with Going for Glold. Come inside and have an egg nog, even though this isn’t a Christmas special. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Joe Hart is despondent, and we mean really despondent, after West Ham conceded a 97th minute equaliser to Big Roy and his boys. Basically everyone is fuming with professional-headerer Michail Antonio but not us! Not us, no! We are delighted for the drama here at Ramble HQ.Elsewhere, for obvious reasons (mostly physical) it's not easy to cast David Unsworth aside but Claude Puel and his Leicester team managed it in some style on Sunday and so the boys ruminate on what that may mean for Everton this season as the Toffees lurch from one crisis to another. And as if Marcus would ever let an England triumph slip under the radar - he's cock-a-hoop about those U17s doing a demolition job on, well let's face it, the entire world really and thinks it bodes well for the summer. Of course he does.Stay tuned for a Going for Glold controversy as well. Blimey, it's all happening here this week... See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Well, what a start to the Premier League that was! The boys get stuck in to all the big stories from the opening weekend in the top flight, a league which seems to have its heart set on getting more and more ridiculous as the seasons go on. There's also chat about the red cards that have been popping up all over the UK including a truly incredible contribution from our friends north of the border, as well as a mention for Cristiano Ronaldo who enjoyed what can only be described as a 'mixed' evening in the Clasico. And, as if Going for Glold wasn't controversial enough last week, there's yet more drama in the football world's premier player-based game. Hold on to your hats!
