Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira are set to author another chapter in BMF title history. On Saturday, Holloway and Oliveira square off for the BMF title in the main event of UFC 326, in Las Vegas. The bout is a rematch of a 2015 featherweight fight that failed to deliver on expectations. Since then, both have gone on to put together Hall of Fame careers, winning titles and setting records, and now they return to the matchup to give the fans the fight we never got the first time, but are they fighting for even more than that? MMA Fighting's Jed Meshew and Alexander K. Lee preview UFC 326 and discuss what's on the line for Holloway and Oliveira on Saturday night aside from the BMF belt. Additionally, Meshew and Lee discuss where the two main event fighters rank all-time, how Caio Borralho and Reinier de Ridder stack up in the co-main event, whether Raul Rosas Jr. can break into the Top 15 against Rob Font, the cornucopia of Codys on the prelims, UFC White House rumors, answer fan questions, and more. We have a lot to discuss in this show as Lukie and Dakota talk about Ryan Garcia defeating Mario Barrios to become the WBC welterweight champion. What did we think of the performance? We also talked about Richardson Hitchins withdrawing from his fight via illness the day of the fight against Oscar Duarte. Then, Gary Antuanne Russell's title defense against Andy Hiraoka. Plus, Nahir Albright-Frank Martin fought to a draw, and Amari Jones looks like a contender.Conor Benn signed with Zuffa Boxing. What does that mean?We will also talk about the Tiah Mai Ayton, Gabriela Tellez, Dainier Pero, and Bilal Fawaz, who all had solid wins over the weekend. Lukie does a quick recap of Leigh Wood's win over Josh Warrington. Also, Claressa Shields and Franchon Crews-Dezurn, we talk about the weigh-in as the fight happens today. Then, we are off to this week with a junior lightweight unification bout between Emanuel Navarrete and Eduardo Nunez being the star of the show.Other undercard bouts: Tahmir Smalls vs. Abel Ramos, Arturo Cardenas vs. Jordan Martinez, and Emiliano Vargas vs. Agustin Quintana. Phillip Vella is a good fighter on that card. On ESPN+, Elijah Pierce will face Lorenzo Parra. Bryce Mills, Curmel Moton and “Jimuel” Pacquiao will be featured on that card. ProBox TV has its second card of the year on Friday. Rene Tellez Giron will headline the show, with "Kid" Vazquez also being featured. Jahi Tucker will fight in Huntington, New York.
Vítor Pereira got off to a stunning start at Nottingham Forest by beating Fenerbahçe 3-0 last night. First the... Europa League play-off first leg win, then the pints? Sean Strickland and Anthony Hernandez are set to do battle as the UFC heads back to Texas. On Saturday, UFC Houston goes down at Toyota Center, headlined by a middleweight matchup between former champion Strickland and surging contender “Fluffy” Hernandez, with middleweight title implications on the line. Strickland is a popular former champion coming off a win over Paulo Costa, and has already laid the seeds for a fight with current champion Khamzat Chimaev, while Hernandez has won eight in a row, positioning himself as one of 185's biggest bogeymen, but can either surpass top contender Nassourdine Imavov with a standout performance on Saturday? MMA Fighting's Jed Meshew and Alexander K. Lee preview UFC Houston and what's at stake between Strickland and Hernandez. Additionally, Meshew and Lee discuss Strickland's controversial pre-fight comments, the banger of a co-main event between Geoff Neal and Uros Medic, Melqi Costa's rising star, Dan Ige's status as a featherweight litmus test, the undercard bouts they're most excited for, and more. To get full access to this episode, please consider supporting us on Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/about_buildings Taking cues from the 'Show and Tell' main episode, Editor Matt joined us for a bonus and brought along a couple of interesting buildings to discuss. The first, Santa Maria del Naranco, in Asturia Northern Spain, was built as a summer palace for King Ramiros I in 842 CE. It is a surprising building in many ways, precociously Romanesque and highly resolved by 9th-century standards, its proportional logics give the building a profound presence, especially its end facades. We then discussed the sprawling, accretive mass of Frank Lloyd Wright's House and Studio in Oak Park, Chicago. This was his home and place of business from the late-1880s until the mid-1900s, and it grew substantially from modest gable-ended suburban cottage to hulking compound as his family and business grew. We also discussed the surrounding neighbourhood of Oak Park, which contains many idiosyncratic domestic designs from the pen of this erratic giant of American architecture.
