Jeremiah writes "I've had two experiences that both I and my friends believe may have been Sasquatch/Bigfoot encounters. First Encounter – July 2025 My first encounter involved myself (originally from Missouri, now living in Arkansas), my friend Nacho (Jacob, from Mississippi), and our other friend Torin (from Missouri). It took place near Neosho, Missouri. Nacho and I have been interested in Bigfoot and other cryptids since we were kids. One night, after spending most of the day playing video games at Torin's house, we jokingly decided around 10:30 PM to go "squatch hunting." Torin wasn't interested in going because he had a bad migraine, but we eventually convinced him to come with us. We headed to Fort Crowder Conservation Area, a large wooded area near Neosho. Once there, we experienced several strange events. We had rocks thrown in our direction, heard what sounded like ground pounds, and could hear something moving behind us on the trail as well as around us in the woods. At one point, the same thing produced a deep, low rumbling growl that almost sounded like a stomach growling. The most unsettling moment came when trees were knocked down in front of us, effectively blocking our path and preventing us from going any farther. As we retreated, more rocks were thrown at us. Throughout the entire experience, the woods were unnaturally quiet there were no insects, no wildlife sounds, nothing. The following night, Nacho and I returned to the area, this time approaching from the opposite side. Since it was only the two of us and we were honestly pretty nervous after the previous night's events, we decided to stay close to the car. After arriving, we stepped out briefly and Nacho made a few calls. Not long afterward, something very close by responded by smacking a tree on his side of the vehicle. A little later, I repeatedly heard something moving around on my side of the car. We were recording the entire time, and later, when reviewing the footage, we noticed things we hadn't picked up on in the moment. My recording captured the tree knock very clearly, while Nacho's recording contained a distant whoop that neither of us had noticed while we were there. Second Encounter – November 2025 In November 2025, Nacho, our friend Caleb (from New York), and I decided to spend two days and one night investigating the Honobia area of Oklahoma. We had been listening to Episode 11 and realized how close Nacho and I were to the location of the Honobia Siege, which motivated us to make the trip. Caleb and I met Nacho at the main store in town, where we got a campsite and spoke with some locals. We spent most of the day driving around the area, exploring and looking for signs of activity, but we didn't encounter anything unusual. That evening, we returned to camp, settled in, cooked some great food, and climbed into the tent. Like most guys in their twenties, we ended up reading Bigfoot stories on Reddit and talking late into the night. About thirty minutes later, we heard something approach our tent on what sounded like two feet. When we stopped talking and listened, the footsteps immediately stopped. A few moments later, we heard two rocks clack together somewhere in the nearby river. We started talking again, and shortly afterward the footsteps resumed. Once again, we went quiet, and once again the movement stopped. This time we heard two distinct rock clacks one from the river close to our campsite, and another from much farther away, roughly a quarter mile downstream. There was a lot more that happened during both encounters than what I've described here. I've left out many details simply because there is so much to tell, but these were the major events that stood out the most."

For many collectors, buying a watch is about far more than the watch itself. The experience of discovering, trying on, and ultimately purchasing a watch can shape how we feel about it long after it leaves the boutique. Yet not all retail experiences are created equal. Some leave a lasting impression for all the right reasons, while others can sour the excitement of a purchase before it even happens. In this episode of Fratello Talks, Nacho is joined by RJ and Thomas to discuss the watch retail experience. From traditional authorized dealers and brand boutiques to online purchases and enthusiast-driven retailers, the trio explores what makes a great buying experience and why it still matters in an increasingly digital world.

All watch collectors have one watch that they will never part with. It might not be the most expensive piece in the collection, the rarest, or even the one that gets the most wrist time. Sometimes, a watch becomes irreplaceable for reasons that have very little to do with specifications, market value, or prestige. In this episode of Fratello Talks, Nacho is joined by Daan and Thomas to discuss the watches they simply couldn't imagine selling. Along the way, the conversation touches on sentimentality, personal milestones, and how our relationships with watches can evolve. While many collectors talk about buying and selling as part of the hobby, some pieces seem destined to stay.

Pet food looks like a food category, but it behaves like a trust category and nobody understands that better than Michael Meyer. Rose Hamilton, CEO of Compass Rose Ventures and co-host of The Story of a Brand Show, sits down with Michael for an operator masterclass that goes far beyond pet food into the deeper mechanics of how premium consumer brands get built, scaled, and sustained. With experience across Wellness Pet Food, Plum Organics, Restoration Hardware, I and Love and You, and Just Food for Dogs, Michael brings a rare pattern recognition that every founder, operator, and investor needs to hear. * Pet food is a trust category, not a food category. The dog or cat either eats it or doesn't. The pet parent either feels reassured or doesn't. Repeat purchase is the only real trust metric that matters, and building toward it requires discipline most brands skip. * Cats are the most underbuilt opportunity in premium pets. All the innovation went to dogs. Cat parents were always emotionally invested; the category just never gave them enough ways to express it. That is changing now, and it has to be intentional to work. * The Bobby Flay lesson every founder needs. Celebrity partnerships only work when they make the product promise more believable. Made by Nacho added depth to an existing thesis. It was not motion for motion's sake. * Distribution is not demand. Awareness is not trust. Getting on shelf is not the win. Turning and staying on shelf is the business. Scaling before your system is ready does not create growth, it creates expensive complexity. * Don't rush it. Michael's sharpest advice for founders under pressure to scale: take a breath, think it through, then come back. Speed without clarity is one of the most costly mistakes a growing brand can make. Join us in listening to this episode for one of the most practically useful operator conversations the show has ever produced. Rose and Michael cover category signals, acquisition lessons, channel strategy, celebrity partnerships, and the discipline required to scale without breaking what you built. Whether you are a founder, an operator, or an investor, this one will sharpen how you think about building consumer brands that last. For years, the assumption was that the world would only become more digital — more connected, more automated, more dependent on screens. And yet, in recent years, there seems to have been a subtle shift in the opposite direction. Vinyl records are thriving, physical books remain popular, wired headphones and MP3 players are back, and younger generations increasingly talk about wanting more intentional, less connected experiences. So, where do mechanical watches fit into all of this? In this episode of Fratello Talks, Nacho is joined by Daan and Thomas to discuss whether this broader craving for the analog could point toward a healthy future for mechanical watches. The conversation touches on digital fatigue, analog objects, and why these slightly more impractical things can sometimes feel more meaningful than ever.

On today's episode, we welcome Michael Meyer, CEO of I and love and you — a leader who's built his career spotting opportunities others overlook and turning them into category-defining brands. From organic baby food to natural pet food, Michael has been at the center of major shifts in how consumers shop and what they expect. Now, he's making a bold bet on one of the most underdeveloped spaces in the industry—premium cat food. With the recent acquisition of Made by Nacho and the addition of Bobby Flay as Chief Culinary Officer, Investor, and Board Member, the company is doubling down on a category that's finally having its moment. In this episode, Michael breaks down why cats—not dogs—represent one of the biggest growth opportunities in pet, how he built an omnichannel brand across natural, grocery, mass, and ecommerce, and what it takes to scale to 30,000+ retail doors without losing quality or trust. We also get into the reality of working with strategic investors like L Catterton, how to separate real partnerships from marketing noise, and why the best founders are the ones willing to make contrarian bets early. Every watch collector has wondered about this at some point. If you could go back to the beginning, armed with everything you know now, what would you do differently? Would you buy fewer watches, take bigger risks, or even skip certain phases altogether? In this episode of Fratello Talks, Nacho is joined by RJ and Timo to tackle exactly that question. Looking at today's watch landscape rather than the one they entered years ago, the three discuss the watches they would buy if they were starting their collecting journeys from scratch. Along the way, they touch on changing tastes, lessons learned, and how the market itself has evolved.

“Are You Playing to Win… or Just Sharing Nachos? When it comes to life's little battles… are you strategizing three moves ahead—or just hoping for the best? Right out of the gate, Tricia sparks a spirited discussion about the unspoken rules of sharing food—especially nachos. Her confession, “I'm always thinking three nacho moves ahead of my opponent,” sets off a hilarious deep dive into food boundaries, including Sandy's firm stance on one surprising category: dairy. But the laughs don't stop there. The crew dives into a bizarre “crime report” involving a very unexpected barbecue thief—complete with police notes that will have you shaking your head and cracking up. It's the kind of story only this show could make even funnier. You'll also get a dose of nostalgia and pop culture as the team talks about how a certain legendary artist is suddenly dominating playlists again, proving that great music never really fades. And in true JB and Sandy fashion, they aren't holding back opinions—especially when it comes to celebrity headlines that might make you say, “Do we care… or not?” One of the standout heartwarming moments comes with the introduction of a brand-new “small town reporter,” whose personality already shines through—along with a peek into life in a household of four energetic boys. It's sweet, funny, and completely authentic. Plus, JB gets put on the spot in Rapid Fire Q&A, delivering a memorable quote: “I'm not afraid of death… I just don't want to be there when it happens.” It's classic JB—thoughtful with a twist of humor you won't forget. From paddleboard flute players to wild Austin moments, unpredictable weather talk, and stories that range from ridiculous to touching, this episode captures everything you love about mornings with JB, Sandy, and Tricia.
Have you ever wondered what happens when you stop simply sightseeing and start participating in a destination? There's a point on many trips where you realize what you remember aren't the famous landmarks, museums, and attractions. For us, this trip through Spain and Italy started to change when we stopped simply looking at places and started participating in them. Some of our favorite moments happened sitting around tables, helping prepare food, hearing family stories, and learning how people actually live in the places we were visiting. In this episode, we wanted to talk about three experiences that completely changed how we connected with this trip and encourage you to seek out similar experiences on your next trip. All three experiences had something in common. They helped us appreciate these destinations in a way that went far beyond sightseeing. In this episode you'll discover: Why local food experiences create stronger travel memories A private cooking class in the hills outside Florence Traditional Italian food culture and family life Cheese making at Masseria Fragnite near Ostuni Learning to make mozzarella and burrata by hand Why Puglia feels different from other parts of Italy The value of slowing down while traveling How meaningful travel often happens outside the main tourist areas The role food, wine, and conversation play in Italian culture Why immersive travel experiences help destinations feel more personal Resources and Links from this Epsiode (Some links are affiliate links. Silicon Bites Ep339 | 2026-05-18 | Apparently, Taiwan is up for negotiation. But what is Trump's price – is it personal profit, or U.S. national interest that this betrayal will serve? How Trump came back from Beijing and put a $14 billion arms package — and an island democracy — 'up for negotiation'", while kowtowing to a communist dictator. I must ask, Americans are you tired of the endless winning yet? And a small reminder – Ukrainian had multiple revolutions triggered by a lot less than this grifter clown is doing. He's dismantling American soft power, hard power, alliances, security architecture, economy, governance in real time, without much apparent pushback. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------SILICON CURTAIN LIVE EVENTS - FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN Events in 2025 - Advocacy for a Ukrainian victory with Silicon Curtainhttps://buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtain/extrasOur events of the first half of the year in Lviv, Kyiv and Odesa were a huge success.
