Kain Warwick, founder of Synthetix, talks about synthetic asset issuance platform, which enables people to create tokens that track the price of assets in traditional and crypto finance. We discuss the various types of assets available, why changing the monetary policy helped the ecosystem take off, why people would buy synthetic Bitcoin over Bitcoin itself, and why Uniswap has been pivotal to Synthetix's success. He covers the role the SNX token plays, why people minting synths must be over-collateralized by about 700%, and some of the changes coming down the pike, including futures, tweaks to the inflation rate, and a new oracle system. He also explains what happened when a trader made the system insolvent — and how they negotiated with the trader to keep it alive — how he thinks about decentralization and why the system's governance might one day be handled by a DAO. https://Alphainvestors.Club Hey guys! Thanks for joining us here at https://Alphainvestors.Club where today we will be reviewing Havven Price Prediction WHAT IS HAVVEN (HAV)? The project’s white paper sees Havven as a decentralized payment network and stablecoin. To make it clear it is inspired by Bitcoin and improves upon the extreme volatility issue that Bitcoin suffers from courtesy of its rigid monetary policies. Havven is building a distributed collateral pool based system that derives value from the utility of the system and is price stabilized. There will be users who will be collateralizing and stabilizing the network and they get paid through a fees collected from those in need. Price forecasts: Many people are looking to invest in digital assets (including Havven) owing to the enormous return which they provide. Even the institutional investors are trying to invest in such assets. This is highly positive for Havven as a platform. As the traction of the platform increases more and more, the price of the cryptocurrency would also go up. This is a huge positive for the platform in the future...tune in for our full review! Ledger Cast — Crypto, Bitcoin, Trading, and the Blockchain Ecosystem
Welcome to Ledger Cast, hosted by me, Brian Krogsgard (@ledgerstatus on twitter), and in this episode I'm joined by a special co-host, Derek Waltchack. Ledger Cast is a cryptocurrency trading and blockchain ecosystem podcast. You can subscribe to new episodes of Ledger Cast on iTunes, on Google Play, on Stitcher, on YouTube and via RSS. The information in this podcast should not be construed as investment advice, it is purely educational material and you should always do your own research before buying. In this episode of Ledger Cast, we offer up a compilation of three interviews Derek did in-person while at Consensus. All three are available independently on our YouTube channel as well. We ended up digging more into security tokens and stable coins than I expected at the beginning of the show, but I think both are themes we'll see the rest of 2018 and into 2019. We also discussed EOS and their mainnet launch, along with an effort to incentivize dApp development through a massive fund, and how that compares to the dominance in the landscape through Ethereum. Interview #1 with Fetch.ai Fetch is a project aiming to tackle decentralized ledger technology at an enormous scale -- to handle billions (or more) of agents making transactions, which they're approaching with a new type of ledger technology and what they call "Useful Proof of Work". Fetch will be a token and their private test net is already up and running. They're aiming for a summer release of their public test net. Toby Simpson is the CTO and co-founder of Fetch, which is a self-funded project to date. He produced the Creatures game series in the 90s and was an original member of the AI company DeepMind (acquired by Google for ~$500m in 2014). Interview #2 with Havven In this interview, Derek Waltchack interviews Kain Warwick of Havven -- one of the organizations tackling the stable coin market. There are generally three approaches to stable coins, and in this interview, Derek discusses with Kain how they are approaching the issue of establishing stability using multiple tokens. Creating a unit of account is hard for bitcoin as it is so volatile. At its basis, stability and scalability is what's the challenge for all of these projects. Interview #3 with Platin Platin is a platform designed to put proof of location on the blockchain. They proclaim several uses cases from proximity-based gamification to humanitarian relive using crypto-based airdrops. Derek interviewed Allon Mason and Dr. Lionel Wolberger -- two of the co-founders of the Platin project. Ledger Status links and information Ledger Status Learn is launching really soon, which will offer educational material, community, and more My free Telegram channel where I distribute charts and analysis that's a little more in depth than Twitter Follow @ledgerstatus on Twitter Learn about Derek Derek Waltchack is a partner at Shannon Waltchack -- a full service commercial real estate and property management firm in Birmingham, Alabama. Rune Christensen of MakerDAO and Philip Rosedale, founder of Second Life and High Fidelity, discuss why stablecoins are called crypto's holy grail, why they may be what's necessary for mainstream adoption, and all the ways a stablecoin can be constructed. Philip brings in his experience with Second Life's Linden dollars, often called the first true virtual currency, to describe how it was constructed and how he's planning to disseminate the cryptocurrency of his new virtual world, High Fidelity.
