A lead sculptor from the Age of Sigmar studio has officially joined The Old World team, and the implications are HUGE! What does this mean for the future of the game? To understand what's coming, Rob and Val have to look back at the infamous "schism" between GW's design studios and the resulting scramble during Old World's launch. After some updates on Val's **Square Based Open Toronto** and the wild success of Rob's Foray format, we get into the big questions: Will Kislev finally ride forth from the tundra? Could the Vampire Coast set sail as a new faction? Are Dark Elves, Chaos Dwarfs, or even the Vampire Counts poised for a grand return? Producer's note: Due to some technical kerfuffles, this week's episode sounds less than ideal. We'll be back to top form in no time!Alex, Randy, Howard, and Zac–the whole crew is back together again! They discuss Randy's first time out in the world of vintage racing versus Howard's lifelong experience; the stellar track food, green ravines, and worryingly fast straights at Road America; pit bikes; catching up with B.S. Levy; the various on-track attitudes (and interpretations of vintage spec) from event to event; the experience of driving in the race car parade from the track to downtown Elkhart Lake; Spotted Cow; the next tracks on the list; exhausted radiators; some notable names they'll be sharing Laguna Seca with this weekend; and great memories from Malibu Grand Prix. The group close out with several recent collections from the site, hard-to-find hardtops, and other watchlist highlights from this very exciting and high-volume time at BaT. Send us a textWe travel up to New Hampshire in this special edition episode to hear Senate Minority Leader Bob Dole , in his first foray into the state this cycle, as he helps fundraise for Congressman Bill Zepher. At the time Dole had not yet fully committed to running in 1996 himself but he was clearly the Republican Leader in America. This is Bob Dole at his best in front of a small audience answering there questions in a thoughtful, detailed way , often with plenty of that Kansas wit and humor on full display. If you ever wondered how he would end up the nominee of his party since he often seemed fairly stiff and colorless on television, this is where you will hear how it happened. Never has there been a bigger contrast between the charisma of a candidate in person as opposed to how they appeared on television than was the case with Bob Dole. Here he is at his best in New Hampshire at the Christmas Inn on September 6, 1993. On today's show, when you think of Japanese cuisine, what beverage comes to mind? Maybe sake or a Japanese beer? What about an elegant Pinot Noir? Our guest today is out to prove that Pinot is the perfect complement to umami-rich Japanese dishes.Xander Soren has spent his career blending technical expertise with a passion for music and creative expression. He helped launch iTunes, the first iPods, and he co-created GarageBand, which opened the world of music production to creators everywhere, inspiring indie music makers around the world. Today Xander's focus is wine. His latest venture is Xander Soren Wines, a boutique wine label with wines that truly sing. Xander certainly brought the Apple design sensibility to his wines in the packaging and in the elegance of the Pinot Noir made with one of our favorite winemakers, Shalini Sekhar. We've never met a vintner or winemaker who counts top Japanese sushi masters as friends. Nor have I ever heard a reaction to a wine where a friend who I recently shared a bottle of Xander's Olivet Lane Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley say it slides into sushi and takes the place of soy sauce. We'll explore Xander's decidedly different approach to wine, which includes his personally curated playlist to help you get in the groove to enjoy wine.
Karl and Erum are joined by Dr. Ashley Beckwith, Founder & CEO of Foray Bioscience, for a wide-ranging conversation on the future of biomaterials and the emerging role of plant culture in shaping it. Ashley unpacks how Foray is pioneering new approaches to growing materials directly from plant cells, redefining how we produce, restore, and preserve biological resources. The episode explores the untapped potential of plant culture in bioproduction, ecosystem restoration, and biodiversity preservation when applied with care and intention. Ashley shares her path from growing up in Colorado to pursuing mechanical engineering and bioengineering, and how that interdisciplinary foundation ultimately led her to start Foray. Throughout the conversation, Ashley describes how Foray is building the foundational infrastructure for plant culture. The company develops core capabilities from the ground up and then partners with others to scale and specialize applications. This platform-based approach reflects Foray's belief that unlocking the full potential of plant systems requires a collaborative ecosystem rather than the efforts of a single company.Grow Everything brings the bioeconomy to life. On Ferrari Friday's, William Ross from the Exotic Car Marketplace will be discussing all things Ferrari and interviewing people that live and breathe the Ferrari brand. Topics range from road cars to racing; drivers to owners, as well as auctions, private sales and trends in the collector market. In this episode of the Ferrari Marketplace Podcast, host William Ross discusses Ferrari's historical attempts to participate in the Indianapolis 500. He highlights the brand's efforts and challenges between 1950 and 1960, particularly focusing on the 1952 Indy 500 with Alberto Ascari. Despite some early struggles and eventual failure primarily due to technical issues such as wheel durability, Ferrari's participation was notable. The episode also delves into later, unfulfilled attempts to enter Indy racing through the 1950s to 1980s, and even a beautiful but unused Ferrari 637 design in 1986. William underscores the cultural and racing significance of these efforts and hints at exciting future content involving notable racing figures. ===== (Oo---x---oO) ===== 00:00 Introduction to the Show; Shoutouts, Sponsors & Event Announcements 01:59 Ferrari's Relationship with the Indy 500 05:08 Ferrari's 1952 Indy 500 Attempt 11:30 Subsequent Attempts and Challenges 14:16 Ferrari's Later Flirtations with IndyCar 19:25 Conclusion and Upcoming Episodes ==================== The Motoring Podcast Network : Years of racing, wrenching and Motorsports experience brings together a top notch collection of knowledge, stories and information. #everyonehasastory #gtmbreakfix - motoringpodcast.net More Information: https://www.motoringpodcast.net/ Become a VIP at: https://www.patreon.com/gtmotorsports Online Magazine: https://www.gtmotorsports.org/ Copyright William Ross, Exotic Car Marketplace a division of Sixty5 Motorsports. My guest on the show today is Jon Baskin, co-founder and editor of The Pointmagazine, which over the last 16 years has managed to carve out for itself a really distinctive and important space within the broader American literary intellectual scene. Jon and I have traded emails over the years, but like a lot of people who I think of as loose comrades within the broader scene, we had never actually gazed on each other's faces or heard each other's voices before we got on Zoom to do this. So it was nice to connect. We talk a lot about the birth and development of The Point, in particular its origins in the Committee on Social Thought program at the University of Chicago. We talk about its relationship to N+1 , which is in many ways the seminal magazine of the last few decades of political intellectual life on the left in America. We get into how Jon and his co-editors have managed to keep their bearings while so many other publications have been whipsawed and in some cases destroyed by the violent political energies of the past decade. And we talk about how The Point does and doesn't intersect with the emerging media landscape. This is a really fun conversation with Jon. Hope you enjoy.AI Show notes courtesy of Descript:00:00 Introduction to Eminent Americans00:17 Meet John Baskin: Co-founder of The Point Magazine01:28 The Birth and Evolution of The Point Magazine02:21 Upcoming Conversations and Projects04:38 John Baskin's Intellectual Journey05:45 The Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago11:49 Influences and Inspirations Behind The Point23:28 The Role of Philosophy in The Point's Editorial Vision36:30 Challenges and Conflicts in Editorial Direction43:00 The Convergence of Magazines in the Late 2000s44:43 The Role of DNA in Magazine Identity45:28 Challenges in Finding Writers47:06 Impact of Substack on Traditional Magazines49:50 Balancing Established and New Writers57:31 Exploring the Political Spectrum of The Point01:03:32 The Relationship Between Political and Cultural Conservatism01:08:22 The Point's Foray into Substack01:17:39 The Mystique of The Point and Its Editors01:19:48 Conclusion and Final Thoughts Get full access to Eminent Americans at danieloppenheimer.substack.com/subscribe

Producer Dan Levine recalls the making of 2016's iconic Arrival. From the moment he read Ted Chiang's Story of Your Life, Dan knew he had to find a way to bring it to the screen. Director Denis Villeneuve, an incredible talent but still relatively unknown, was the perfect choice. Producers had to wait until Denis wrapped Sicario, but things moved quickly once Amy Adams came on board and suggested Jeremy Renner as her co-star. Production went smoothly, although the material presented endless challenges for Denis and the producers. The scariest moment was after the finished film was screened for the studio - they did not like it and wanted rewrites and a reshoot to change the ending. Dan knew the film worked and fought for the ending that garnered 8 Oscar nominations. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Need a chukar fix? How about a few valley quail too? I'll debrief a recent hunt of mine ... sort of a bookend thing, with stunning dog work at both ends. We pull a few thousand feet of elevation, miss a few birds and connect on others. I'll talk terrain, habitat, strategy and tactics plus some pure dumb luck too. A fascinating find or two, as well. "Fix It" has a few theories on why birds scatter this time of year, and we'll take a sneak peek at the Upland Nation Index and your responses to the longest-running, largest private-sector survey of upland hunters. Favorite dog breed? What are the key issues you face? We'll take a look. You get a final chance to enter to win the Sage & Braker shotgun cleaning mat in our furfeathersfriends.com sweepstakes, too, but only if you listen and know the Word of the Week. Kate Hudson was raised by Hollywood royalty: Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. When she was growing up, they told her that if she wanted to be an actor it had to be because of something deep inside her — not just for fame and fortune. Her latest role is in Max Minghella's “Shell,” which is all about the extreme measures actors will take to stay young. Kate sits down with Tom for a conversation about that film, her Hollywood upbringing, her Oscar-nominated role in “Almost Famous,” and why these days she's making music.

The Fourth Century was, theologically speaking, a century of conflict and clarification. Heretical teachings concerning the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Persons of the Trinity were widespread and backed by powerful churchmen. Faithful, biblically-rooted theologians contended for the truth, and two church councils (in 325 and 381) helped to clarify orthodox doctrine in the face of these onslaughts. This week's episode introduces one of the theologians who, from the mid to late 4th century, gave eloquent expression to orthodox Christology and Trinitarian theology: Gregory of Nazianzus (c. 329–390). As well as introducing this quiet, pensive man, we read a section from William Cunningham's newly republished Historical Theology on the question of how the Persons of the Holy Trinity are properly to be distinguished. Joshua Miller from Proofpoint joins Dave to discuss findings on "Welcome to New York: Exploring TA453's Foray into LNKs and Mac Malware." In mid May, TA453, also known as Charming Kitten, APT42, Mint Sandstorm, and Yellow Garuda, was found sending a benign conversation lure masquerading as a senior fellow with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) to the public media contact for a nuclear security expert at a US-based think tank focused on foreign affairs. The research states that "the email solicited feedback on a project called “Iran in the Global Security Context” and requested permission to send a draft for review." Proofpoint shares it's findings and what you can expect from the threat group.
