In this interview recorded while at Gen Con, Kai Norman and Ryan Omega interview Matthew Webb from Jackalope Live Action Studios, starting from the discussion of Webb's blockbuster LARP, "The Night in Question," into the exploration of why people indulge in stories of monsters, gore and evil and why villains are so seductive. And when these narratives translate into a live action roleplaying event, the responsibility that the event runners have to keep everyone safe when exploring these dark topics.

It's no secret that we have LARP roots here at No Proscenium, specifically VAMPIRE LARP roots. So when we heard that there's a "blockbuster" (aka bespoke) Vampire LARP coming to Texas in November -- part of the relaunch of Vampire: the Masquerade which is happening all year long -- we got very, very intrigued. Which is how we ended up talking to Matthew Webb of Jackalope Live Action Studios, the company that is putting on this event called The Night In Question. That's not all Jackalope is up to, as they're working on the Cyberpunk license and more, looking to introduce an emerging style of play to brand new audiences. Break out the fangs, we're going in.
Mike and Chris sit back to explore... Beast: the Primordial?! That's right, the show begins with a positive review of the final two chapters of the Beast Players Guide, and then dives into other news, like the V5 preorders, return of Vampire: the Eternal Struggle to print, and upcoming Cyberpunk Live Action events. In the World of Darkness segment, Mike discusses Wraith's Risen as portrayed in Hunter: the Walking Dead. Chris then presents an enthralling secret frequency on poltergeist activity in his local Yorkshire. Finally, the duo listen to an insightful introduction to Hunter: the Vigil, provided by game author Alex Greene.
