Lughnasadh is a time to celebrate not only the first harvest from the land, but also the gifts, talents, and abilities you have cultivated within yourself. In honor of Lugh, a deity of skill, mastery, leadership, and craft, Laylla and Chelle explore the talents we are born with, the skills we have earned through practice, and the quiet forms of wisdom we often forget to recognize as magick. What have you been growing within yourself? Which abilities have ripened through years of practice, mistakes, persistence, and experience? The witches talk about honoring the work it took to become who you are, giving thanks to the people who helped teach and shape you, and remembering that your gifts can nourish both your own life and the community around you. From the overflowing abundance of late summer to the first whispers of autumn, this episode celebrates what is ready to be gathered, what still needs tending, and what should be preserved as seed for the future. Rather than focusing heavily on the history and lore of the sabbat, which we have covered in previous Lughnasadh episodes linked in the show notes, this year we are honoring Lugh by recognizing the skills and magick we have grown within ourselves.Join us between the spokes of the Wheel and take a moment to celebrate your own harvest. Lammas: The First Harvest & Reclaiming Your PowerLammas (also known as Lughnasadh) marks the beginning of the harvest season—but spiritually, it's so much more than gathering crops. In this episode of Big Crystal Energy, we're exploring the history, mythology, and deeper meaning behind the first harvest festival. From the Celtic god Lugh and the story of the earth goddess Tailtiu to ancient harvest customs and symbolic sacrifice, we'll uncover why Lammas asks us to stop chasing what could have been and instead acknowledge what has actually grown. This conversation also becomes deeply personal as I share how a difficult summer, illness, travel, and feeling disconnected from myself led me back to one powerful realization:Your authenticity is not something you sacrifice to make other people comfortable.Together we'll explore what it truly means to reclaim your power, honor the work you've already done, and make a sacred promise to yourself for the year ahead. In this episode, we discuss: What Lammas (Lughnasadh) celebrates  Why Lammas is called the First Harvest  The mythology of Lugh and the earth goddess Tailtiu  How sacrifice has changed throughout history  Ancient Lammas customs and harvest traditions  Why this Sabbat is about taking an honest inventory of your life  The difference between meaningful sacrifice and giving away your power  Reflection questions for your own spiritual harvest  Crystals that support Lammas energy  Herbs, colors, incense, and altar correspondences  A beautiful Year-and-a-Day Oath Ritual inspired by traditional Lammas practices Crystals Mentioned Botswana Agate  Mahogany Obsidian  Yellow Fluorite  Prasiolite (Green Amethyst) Lammas CorrespondencesPlants & Herbs Wheat  Corn  Grains  Sunflower  Heather  Blackberry  Apple Incense Frankincense  Sandalwood  Marigold  Thyme Colors Gold  Yellow  Orange  Bronze  Deep Red Tree Oak Journal Prompts What have you harvested this year that you haven't fully acknowledged?  What is still standing after this season of your life?  Where are you still making yourself smaller for someone else's comfort?  What are you no longer willing to give away for free?  What would reclaiming your power actually look like? Featured RitualThis episode includes a simple but powerful Year-and-a-Day Lammas Oath Ritual, inspired by Kate Freuler's Lammas practice.Write a single vow describing what you are no longer willing to sacrifice about yourself, read it aloud, sign it, and revisit it one year from now during next year's Lammas.Coming Next✨ Bonus Episode: A collective Lammas oracle reading using the Seasons of the Witch: Lammas Oracle and the guidebook's Bird Feeder Spread—a reading focused on turning dreams into reality and discovering what is ready to grow in your life. You'll also find the full reading on my Substack.Resources MentionedLlewellyn's Sabbat Essentials: Lammas Kate Freuler's Lammas Oath Ritual (adapted for this episode) Connect with Me

Welcome back to Big Crystal Energy! In this episode, Ashleigh dives into the Sabbat of Litha, also known as the Summer Solstice — the longest day of the year and one of the most powerful turning points on the Wheel of the Year.Litha is a celebration of peak solar energy, abundance, fire, illumination, love, and transformation. But it is also a threshold. At the exact moment the sun reaches its height, the darker half of the year quietly begins.
