Your revenue may look good on paper, but if your take-home pay doesn't reflect your effort, something's not right. If that's you, you're not broken—you're trapped in the salary lie. Big revenue, tiny take-home. Bad advice, such as “reinvest everything” and “keep your pay low to scale,” is what probably got you here. In this episode, we're talking about why, in 2025, just scraping by isn't safe and how it's time to flip the script: your salary isn't what's left over—it's the strategy. Topics discussed in this episode include: The real cost of just “getting by.” What it looks like to use salary as a strategy - not an afterthought. Four practical salary moves for 2025. Busting through myths about salary. How to get started with a salary-first reset. For detailed show notes and links to everything in this episode, please visit bsfreebusiness.com. It's then time for Listener' Opinions from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Then Phillip and Cesare start discussing this movie. It's an enjoyable and fun conversation. It's then time to talk about whether they noticed anything in this movie that Tarantino might have liked or used in a film. Then they individually rate the movie. They then answer whether they would buy this movie, rent it, or find it for free. Phillip then gives his Phil's Film Favorite of the Week; Raw Deal (1986). Cesare then gives his recommendations of Insiang (1976) and Busting (1974). It's then time for Phillip to promote next week's show where he will be joined for the first time by film enthusiast Jerry Dennis, to discuss another movie from 1984, Red Dawn. Relatively speaking neuroscience and psychology are young fields of scientific research that only really got going over the last hundred years or so. However, during this time several stubborn myths have arisen that, zombie-like, just don't seem to go away. In this episode, we speak to neuroscientist, best-selling author and long-time BBC Science Focus contributor Dr Dean Burnett. He tells us how much of our brain we really use, explains whether polygraphs can really tell if we're lying, and explains the real difference between our left and right brains. Pet Business Freedom: Busting the 24/7 Myth What if the biggest thing holding you back from pet business freedom… is you? If you think your pet sitting or dog walking biz would crumble without you for a day, that's not freedom. That's a trap. If you're still walking the dogs, answering every DM, handling every complaint—you're not running a business. You're running yourself into the ground. In this episode, I'm calling out the hustle-all-day, never-take-a-break myth that's keeping you stuck. Because freedom doesn't come from working more—it comes from building smarter. I'm handing you the mindset shifts and exact steps I give my coaching clients so they can finally stop surviving and start leading. In This Episode, You'll Discover… How to audit your daily tasks and identify what can be automated or delegated Why SOPs are your secret weapon—and how AI makes them easier than ever The mindset shift from technician to CEO How to hire based on vibe, not just skills Ways to start delegating without giving up control Timestamps: 00:00 – Busting the 24/7 Hustle Myth: “If I'm not there, it falls apart.” 02:00 – Golden Cage Syndrome: When you own the business, but it owns you 04:50 – Systematize for Sanity: Automations, SOPs, and delegation 07:30 – How to Train Like You Want to Be Replaced 10:05 – What Freedom Really Means in a Scalable Pet Business Notable Quotes “You didn't build your business to survive—you built it so you could live.” “Every time you answer the same question twice, that's a system begging to be born.” “Delegation is not giving up—it's leveling up.” Resources & Links Connect on IG: @bellavasta Free Consultation: jumpconsulting.net/20 Email: bella@jumpconsulting.net Marketing With Bella: Email Bella for details! I must apologize—I'm feeling a little under the weather, and you're probably going to be able to hear that in my voice today. But the show must go on, as they say. This episode, as you've probably already seen from the title, is going to be about your mindset. I've been having a lot of conversations with clients about mindset and perception, and just kind of switching things around and busting the 24/7 myth—which means you have to be on all the time. Let me remind you that one of the biggest reasons many of us got into entrepreneurship was so that we could control our time and money. You started this business for freedom, right? You wanted to make your own schedule. Maybe even sneak in an afternoon nap. I mean, you're the boss now. You should be able to do what you want, when you want. Right? But if we're really honest—is that what you've got now? This is going to either appeal to your younger entrepreneurial self, or it's going to hit you right where you are today. And if this is your younger self, I encourage you to spread some love, light, and joy by finding wherever this was posted and leaving a comment about how you got through it. Because this is a community. Together, we rise. Sometimes it kind of feels like we're in a golden cage. You're the one doing the overnight sits or you're the one answering calls after 9 PM. You're the one rescheduling your life around last-minute client requests. Sound familiar? There's this toxic belief I hear from pet business owners all the time: “If I'm not there, it falls apart.” That's not freedom—it's survival. And you didn't build your business to survive. You built it so you could live. So today we're busting the myth. We're breaking the lie that your business only works if you work yourself to the bone. We're going to talk about systems, delegation, and building something that actually gives you your life back.

Navigating Today's South Shore Market: Insights from Talk Real Estate Roundtable At Boston Connect Real Estate, our mission is to keep South Shore buyers, sellers, and homeowners informed about the ever-changing real estate landscape. In our latest Talk Real Estate Roundtable, we discussed timely topics shaping the market—from pricing strategies to navigating common myths—offering guidance to help you make confident decisions. Busting Common Real Estate Myths One of the most important conversations we had centered on real estate myths that continue to circulate: “Every home sells over asking.” While multiple-offer situations are still happening, especially in sought-after South Shore towns like Scituate, Marshfield, and Pembroke, not every property sells for more than its list price. Pricing strategy, location, and condition remain critical factors. “Waiving contingencies is the only way to win.” Waiving inspections or financing contingencies can expose buyers to unnecessary risks. A skilled buyer's agent can craft a competitive offer without jeopardizing protections that safeguard your investment. “Spring is the only good time to sell.” Life changes don't always align with the seasons—and neither do buyers. Families relocating, downsizers seeking condos, and first-time buyers entering the market keep demand strong year-round. The Importance of Representation We emphasized the value of hiring the right buyer's and seller's agents: A buyer's agent helps clients understand market value, negotiate effectively, and avoid pitfalls often encountered when browsing lead-generation websites. A seller's agent ensures your home is priced strategically, marketed locally and digitally, and guided through a smooth transaction to closing. Creating a real relationship with your Realtor—someone who knows both you and the local market—makes all the difference. Market Pulse: What We're Seeing Locally Inventory levels remain tight across the South Shore, but opportunities still exist for both buyers and sellers. New construction in towns like Plymouth and Kingston is providing options for families looking for modern layouts and energy efficiency. Meanwhile, established neighborhoods continue to attract buyers drawn to community feel and proximity to Boston. Takeaway for Buyers & Sellers Whether you're a first-time buyer, a growing family, or preparing to downsize, don't let myths or misinformation drive your decisions. The key is partnering with a trusted, local real estate professional who can provide clarity, advocate for your best interests, and guide you through today's competitive—but navigable—market.

While overall divorce rates are falling, one group is bucking the trend. For those over 50, divorce rates have doubled or even tripled (depending on what source you consult) since the 1990s. So, when Crow's Feet wants to know what's causing the spike in divorces for older adults and how more couples might stay together, who are we gonna call? A divorce-buster, of course. Relationship therapist, author, and educator Michele Weiner-Davis, author of the best-selling book Divorce Busting: A Step-by-Step Approach to Making Your Marriage Loving Again, joins host Betsy Allen to talk about the issues, both large and small, that tear relationships apart and how older couples can start to think differently, communicate better, and regain those loving feelings. Even if you're not considering divorce, Michele has advice that can make any relationship stronger and more resilient. How did my company, Clients on Demand, generate over $100 million in high-ticket coaching sales? It all comes down to one powerful, 30-minute presentation. In this episode, I'm breaking down the exact structure of the masterclass that does all the heavy lifting for our client attraction. This isn't about posting 400 pieces of content a week. It's about having one core asset that takes someone from a cold ad-click to an enrolled high-ticket client in 24-48 hours. I'll walk you through the entire framework, from the initial hook to the final invitation, so you can apply these principles to your own business. In This Episode, We Discuss: 01:45 The simple, two-page funnel that powers our entire business. 04:30 Why most people fail when they try to copy this model (Hint: they mess up the video). 07:15 The "Outcome + Curiosity Hook" formula for an irresistible title. 12:00 How to describe your audience's problems so vividly they automatically assume you have the solution. 17:30 The "Big Reframe": Turning their problems into symptoms of a bigger issue only you can solve. 22:10 The Five Core Belief Shifts your presentation MUST create (and why you should never "teach"). 26:45 The "Old Way vs. New Way" technique to eliminate all your competition. He had the biggest hit of the year with 'Old Town Road' and won two Grammys. Now singer Little Nas X has been hospitalized after a possible overdose. He was found dancing in the streets of LA in only underwear and white cowboy boots. Busting into the home to save two dogs trapped inside. One of the heroes says what happened felt like something straight out of a movie. Plus, get me out of here. That's the message from convicted killer Bryan Kohberger... Who is serving life for murdering four University of Idaho students. He's asking prison officials to be moved to another block because... He says... He's being tortured by fellow inmates...minute by minute. The note was scribbled with child-like handwriting. But if Kohberger thought he would get some sympathy... He was wrong. And Cracker Barrel Old Country store is trying to make some new changes... And some people aren't too happy about it. The chain is updating the inside of some of its restaurants... Its menu... In this insightful episode of Mindset Matters, Patrick and Steffany unpack one of the most pervasive and rarely discussed challenges in personal and professional development: imposter syndrome. Through the powerful story of Claire, a successful architect paralyzed by self-doubt, they explore how high achievers can still feel like frauds despite overwhelming evidence of their competence. This conversation dives into the hidden beliefs of “not enough” and “unworthiness” that often lie beneath imposter syndrome. Patrick reflects on his own journey of feeling like an imposter despite decades of business success, while Steffany shares how performance psychology has taught her — and the elite athletes she coaches — to make peace with their “inner fraud.” Together, they reveal how imposter syndrome doesn't just affect those who have already “made it,” but also holds back those who hesitate to start. Many people stay stuck in a cycle of needing more credentials or waiting for the perfect moment, rather than taking bold action from where they are. They also explore the psychological tools like alter egos and avatars — inspired by athletes like Michael Jordan and performers like Beyoncé — that can help people overcome moments of self-doubt and show up fully, even under pressure. The episode highlights how comparison, judgment, and societal expectations especially around appearance and success, often intensify feelings of fraudulence — especially for women. Ultimately, Patrick and Steffany call listeners to examine where imposter syndrome may be quietly sabotaging their growth, and how authenticity, self-reflection, and gratitude for one's journey can collapse those limiting beliefs.
Family law attorney and certified divorce financial analyst Lisa Zeiderman joins me to talk about how parents can navigate separation, divorce, and custody decisions with clarity, confidence, and a focus on their child's well-being. Together we explore: The different legal pathways for separation and divorce (including mediation, collaborative law, and litigation) and how to determine which may be right for your family. Common dynamics that can make self-advocacy harder, such as power imbalances, high-conflict relationships, or emotional manipulation. What it means to “foster” a relationship between your child and their other parent—and why courts prioritize this. How to set your child up for emotional success, even when the co-parenting relationship is strained. Tangible behaviors that courts (and kids!) recognize as supporting healthy co-parenting. Ways to support your child's sense of voice and agency throughout the process—whether that's through therapy, routines, or even court-appointed advocates. Resources and recommendation of support systems and products that can help parents co-parent more effectively. Whether you're already in the thick of it or just starting to consider what the future may hold, this conversation offers guidance and grounding for navigating family transitions with thoughtfulness and care. Following the breakdown of her long-term relationship in 2021, Orla Donoghue became a single parent to her then one-year-old son, Rory. The transition, however, was far from easy. As a new mother, she grappled with feelings of isolation, shame and uncertainty and despite the fact that one in five households in Ireland are single parent families, she also found the experience deeply isolating. However, it was this difficult experience that ultimately led her to set up Solas Coaching, a support space dedicated to helping other single parents. In today's episode, Donoghue talks to Róisín Ingle about finding her footing as a solo parent, the importance of asking for help and why she's passionate about supporting others in difficult times. Hi Mamas, This week's episode is a little different... and a whole lot deeper. We're not talking hacks or checklists. We're talking about real life… the kind that makes you want to cry in your car, order takeout again, and wonder how on earth you're supposed to do it all. This one's about juggling. But not in the “look how productive I am” kind of way. In the real, raw, honest way… where your therapist has to remind you: “You're juggling a lot right now… but not every ball is made of glass.” Today, I'm sharing: ✔️ How to know what's a glass ball (fragile, important, long-term) ✔️ How to spot a rubber ball (urgent-feeling, but bounces just fine) ✔️ Questions to ask yourself when everything feels “important” ✔️ A behind-the-scenes look at how I've had to let some balls bounce (yes, even the podcast) ✔️ Why you are a glass ball...and what that means for your peace ✔️ How to give yourself full permission to stop doing it all... and breathe instead This is the episode I needed…. and I hope it's the one you didn't know you needed, too.
In this episode of To The Root, Robyn Spangler tackles a widespread myth in the skin health world: that Candida is the root cause of acne and other chronic skin conditions. While Candida overgrowth may play a role in certain symptoms, Robyn explains why it's rarely the primary driver — and why simply following anti-Candida diets or supplement protocols often fails to deliver lasting results.Drawing on over a decade of clinical experience, Robyn walks through the deeper terrain issues that allow Candida to thrive: compromised digestion, heavy metal overload, mineral depletion, chronic stress, poor liver detoxification, and more. She shares how addressing these root factors — rather than targeting Candida in isolation — creates a stronger foundation for true skin healing. If you've struggled with recurring acne, eczema, or rashes and suspect Candida may be involved, this episode offers a clear, research-informed perspective on what it takes to support your body and restore balance long-term.Listen now!Highlights:Why Candida is typically a symptom — not the root cause — of chronic skin issuesKey internal factors that contribute to Candida overgrowth. The link between Candida and skin conditions such as fungal acne, eczema, dermatitis, and histamine-related flaresWhy temporary improvements from Candida protocols often don't lastThe importance of assessing nutrient status, hormone balance, and digestive healthHow functional testing and a whole-body approach can lead to sustainable skin healingConnect with Robyn:Instagram: @nutritionbyrobyn Website: https://www.theclearskinlab.com
