In this episode of Tech It To The Limit, hosts Sarah Harper and Elliot Wilson revisit generational myths in digital health and reveal why age isn't the real barrier to adoption. Through their new game, Fact Check Fever, and a deep dive into the Capability-Motivation-Context (CMC) framework, they show how design, usability, and trust matter far more than birth year. From busting stereotypes to exploring how health systems can design with users, not for them, it's a witty, insightful look at the future of inclusive, human-centered innovation.Key TakeawaysGenerational myths don't hold up: Boomers use portals, Gen Z cares about privacy, and every group struggles with clunky design, not just “digital natives.”Design trumps demographics: Adoption isn't about age, it's about usability, accessibility, and human-centered design.Follow the CMC framework: Capability, motivation, and context, not birth year, to predict whether people engage with health tech.Health equity requires intention: Neutral AI does not exist; equity has to be actively built into technology. The biggest unifier isn't age: A diagnosis, condition, or shared health journey brings people together across generations more than labels like Boomer or Gen Z.In this episode:[00:00:13] Welcome & episode introduction[00:00:55] Recap of Mayo Clinic live show[00:02:36] Looking ahead to HLTH: speakers, tracks, and the health tech “fashion week” vibe[00:05:08] Conference tracks & awards00:07:13] Launching Fact Check Fever: busting myths on portals, EHR burnout, Gen Z TikTok habits, and more[00:07:37] Fact Check Fever: generational myths & data[00:19:24] Break for fake sponsor: Patient Portal Plus Plus[00:20:44] Sincere segment: CMC framework for health tech adoption[00:22:24] Deep dive: CMC framework explained[00:31:17] Designing with, not for, users[00:35:31] Break for fake sponsor: Bias Focals[00:37:14] Spicy Nugs: co-host lightning round[00:46:41] Closing thoughts, HLTH call-to-action, and Elliot's health tech haikuResourcesTech It To The Limit PodcastWebsite Apple PodcastSarah HarperLinkedIn -https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarahbethharperElliott WilsonLinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewelliottwilson

By the end, you'll know exactly what's fact, what's fiction, and how much you really need to buy a home in today's market.

This week, Scott speaks with psychotherapist and writer Joe Nucci, whose work tackles the intersection of mental health, misinformation, and pop psychology. Joe has built a large following by debunking viral myths and bringing nuance to conversations that are too often oversimplified online. Together, they dive into his new book, Psychobabble: Viral Mental Health Myths and the Truths to Set You Free. From the overuse of labels like “narcissist” to the assumption that mindfulness is good for everyone, Joe challenges widely accepted but misleading ideas. They also take on bigger cultural narratives—like whether everyone has trauma or whether everyone should be in therapy. This conversation sheds light on how misinformation spreads, why it matters, and what we can do to ground our understanding of mental health in science and compassion. Mr. Beast Biography Flash a weekly Biography. In the past few days, Mr Beast — real name Jimmy Donaldson — has faced scrutiny and headlines over his **data collection and advertising practices targeting children**. According to Cybernews and the Children's Advertising Review Unit, CARU, MrBeast's YouTube channel and his Feastables chocolate brand were flagged for potentially collecting personal data from children without parental consent and for blurring the lines between content and advertising. The watchdog found that some video descriptions and pinned comments were not clearly labeled as advertising, which could mislead younger viewers. CARU also highlighted issues with Feastables' sweepstakes, noting that free methods of entry weren't adequately disclosed, age gates were missing, and there was sales pressure via countdown timers. In response, MrBeast stated he appreciates CARU's mission but doesn't fully agree with all of their conclusions. He promised to take their concerns seriously in future campaigns, and reportedly has already updated his data collection practices.MrBeast's **chocolate venture, Feastables**, remained in the headlines not only for its past advertising slip-ups but also for its remarkable revenue. In 2024 alone, Feastables reportedly generated over $215 million, making it one of the breakout food brands closely watched by industry insiders. On the business front, while the viral headline from Parade that MrBeast “bought the NFL” made waves recently, it's important to clarify that this was intended as an internet joke and not literal. No reliable sources report that MrBeast owns or is buying any stake in an NFL franchise at this time.A genuine news story that's capturing the entire entrepreneurial world involves MrBeast's **response to an online scam**. Erik Bergman, a prominent entrepreneur, shared that he was duped in a $1.25 million crypto scam after being added to a fake group chat that appeared to include MrBeast and other major names. When Bergman went public, MrBeast himself jumped in with a $100,000 reward for credible information leading to the scammers — a move that has further cemented his reputation for proactive, community-centered action. This story went viral with millions of views on X, formerly Twitter, and thousands of reposts. It's become an instant case study in influencer culture, online trust, and MrBeast's power as both a philanthropist and digital leader. On the social media side, apart from his viral reward offer related to the scam, MrBeast's posts continued their usual massive engagement, but nothing else in the last 24 hours eclipsed the scam reward story for reach and impact. For listeners seeking the essence of MrBeast's recent biography, what stands out is his ability to manage reputation under regulatory fire, drive massive business success, and instantly rally his audience for good causes — all while remaining a force of viral influence. Barry James Dyke is a bestselling author, advisor, and iconoclast who's spent decades exposing the financial myths that keep everyday people uninformed while Wall Street and big banks profit. As founder of Castle Asset Management, he's helped clients demystify how banks, asset managers, and retirement systems truly work—using innovative, risk-managed planning geared to protect wealth from unnecessary risk or transfer. On this episode we talk about: The truth about 401Ks, mutual funds, and why saving trumps risky investing (“the market always goes up” is a dangerous lie) Banks' instability, the reality of fractional reserve lending, and why bailouts favor the elite—not regular savers Retirement system myths, why America ranks poorly on global preparedness, and how corporations quietly protect their own funds Why life insurance and low-risk products are the “secret” safe havens for big institutions (but rarely taught to working families) Actionable steps for listeners: discipline in saving, setting up protection, and investing safely for the long term Top 3 Takeaways 1.  Real wealth starts with discipline—saving first, then investing with a clear plan and protection before chasing risky returns.2.  The system is stacked for Wall Street—most big wins come from business, innovation, or personal skill, not just mutual funds.3.  Educate yourself on banking and investing fundamentals; big banks and corporations quietly use safe, conservative vehicles, not speculation. Notable Quotes “Most believe banks are stable, but they're highly leveraged and bailouts favor elites, not everyday savers.” “I've never met anyone who made their millions in mutual funds—the best investment is always in yourself.” “America's retirement crisis comes from poor savings discipline. Start by protecting, saving, then thoughtfully investing.” Connect with Barry Dyke: Website: barryjamesdyke.com ✖️✖️✖️✖️

Pet Business Freedom: Busting the 24/7 Myth What if the biggest thing holding you back from pet business freedom… is you? If you think your pet sitting or dog walking biz would crumble without you for a day, that's not freedom. That's a trap. If you're still walking the dogs, answering every DM, handling every complaint—you're not running a business. You're running yourself into the ground. In this episode, I'm calling out the hustle-all-day, never-take-a-break myth that's keeping you stuck. Because freedom doesn't come from working more—it comes from building smarter. I'm handing you the mindset shifts and exact steps I give my coaching clients so they can finally stop surviving and start leading. In This Episode, You'll Discover… How to audit your daily tasks and identify what can be automated or delegated Why SOPs are your secret weapon—and how AI makes them easier than ever The mindset shift from technician to CEO How to hire based on vibe, not just skills Ways to start delegating without giving up control Timestamps: 00:00 – Busting the 24/7 Hustle Myth: “If I'm not there, it falls apart.” 02:00 – Golden Cage Syndrome: When you own the business, but it owns you 04:50 – Systematize for Sanity: Automations, SOPs, and delegation 07:30 – How to Train Like You Want to Be Replaced 10:05 – What Freedom Really Means in a Scalable Pet Business Notable Quotes “You didn't build your business to survive—you built it so you could live.” “Every time you answer the same question twice, that's a system begging to be born.” “Delegation is not giving up—it's leveling up.” Resources & Links Connect on IG: @bellavasta Free Consultation: jumpconsulting.net/20 Email: bella@jumpconsulting.net Marketing With Bella: Email Bella for details! I must apologize—I'm feeling a little under the weather, and you're probably going to be able to hear that in my voice today. But the show must go on, as they say. This episode, as you've probably already seen from the title, is going to be about your mindset. I've been having a lot of conversations with clients about mindset and perception, and just kind of switching things around and busting the 24/7 myth—which means you have to be on all the time. Let me remind you that one of the biggest reasons many of us got into entrepreneurship was so that we could control our time and money. You started this business for freedom, right? You wanted to make your own schedule. Maybe even sneak in an afternoon nap. I mean, you're the boss now. You should be able to do what you want, when you want. Right? But if we're really honest—is that what you've got now? This is going to either appeal to your younger entrepreneurial self, or it's going to hit you right where you are today. And if this is your younger self, I encourage you to spread some love, light, and joy by finding wherever this was posted and leaving a comment about how you got through it. Because this is a community. Together, we rise. Sometimes it kind of feels like we're in a golden cage. You're the one doing the overnight sits or you're the one answering calls after 9 PM. You're the one rescheduling your life around last-minute client requests. Sound familiar? There's this toxic belief I hear from pet business owners all the time: “If I'm not there, it falls apart.” That's not freedom—it's survival. And you didn't build your business to survive. You built it so you could live. So today we're busting the myth. We're breaking the lie that your business only works if you work yourself to the bone. We're going to talk about systems, delegation, and building something that actually gives you your life back.
