Today we do a podcast collaboration with our great friends at the TMPA, Clint McNear and Tyler Owen. This is a long overdue episode as we sit with two men that represent a great organization, the TMPA, to talk about our mutual mission in being there for our law enforcement brothers and sisters. We go behind the scenes in the Blue Grit podcast origins and also get to know the hosts and understand their “why” in their journey. Special guest cohost, Plano PD Sgt. James Babb sit in to help tell this story. They are the voice of Texas law enforcement….They are the Blue Grit Podcast. Some decisions by the Libertarian Party over the past several years have given dedicated libertarians pause. First, the nomination of Bob Barr for president in 2008. Next, the nomination of Gary Johnson and Bill Weld for president and vice president in 2016. Finally, an incident more relevant to libertarians in the Mid-Atlantic area has cause many to identify questionable trends in the party and wonder whether it is still committed to the principles that attracted millions to it over the years. For this episode we bring back one of our favorite guests – James Babb, who’s a libertarian/anarcho activist in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area. We talked to Jim about recent events surrounding the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Liberty Festival and his thoughts on the direction the Libertarian Party seems to be headed.
When you’re a libertarian, it’s good to have libertarian role models whom to emulate. We think one of those individuals is James Babb – a Philadelphia-area activist who isn’t shy about expressing his love for liberty and his disdain for the state. But he isn’t a guy in a black hoodie and scarf covering his face, running around breaking in windows and lighting fires. He’s a well spoken, intellectually sound, strategically sound libertarian who knows how to deliver the message of liberty. We like James and we think you will too. This episode is a little longer than usual, but it’s well worth it.
