On today's show, I'm joined again by my friend Matt Olpinski for our coaching call with side-hustler-turned agency-builder Jason Frostholm. After working on the side for years, Jason and his wife finally decided to take their freelancing full-time and build an agency together. That was right before the global pandemic. Now, after a year of eating into savings, they've used word-of-mouth to build up some good relationships and they have the beginnings of a solid client base. But, as any agency-builder knows all too well, word-of-mouth marketing can be finicky and unreliable. So Jason wants to improve his marketing and sales to build a more predictable client pipeline. The problem? He's a bit of an introvert. So today's episode becomes all about promoting yourself and your business even when you're introverted like Jason. It's a co-show eggrybody!! What does that mean you say? Well, in the first episode of 2018 we join forces with our friend Jason Frostholm, host of the Creative South Podcast and what we're left with is a conversation for the ages. We talk podcasting, creativity, the importance of events and networking with your fellow creatives, business building and so much more. To be honest it's probably too great of show to kick off the year. We're probably setting the bar too high but what the hell, let's swing for the fences. Join us won't you? Jason Frostholm with Creative South joins for a special crossover episode! Find Jason and Creative South Podcast Website: creativesouth.com // Twitter: @creativesopod // Facebook: @CreativeSoPod Twitter: @jfrostholm // Dribbble: dribbble.com/jfrostholm // Instagram: @jfrostholm Hey there friends, welcome back. I don’t have a deep thoughts kind of introduction for this episode, because it is something unique and new for this show. I listen to a lot of various podcasts and design podcasts are a good chunk of what I listen to. One of those is the Creative South Podcast. On one of those occasional awesome moments on Twitter, our two podcasts were able to connect and start a conversation around doing a crossover episode. If you’re a designer, this episode will be more aligned to your interests. I get an opportunity to dive into who I am, what my l professional history is, and how I got to the Branding Brews Podcast. The other half of this crossover is with Jason Frostholm and the Creative South Podcast. Jason is also a graphic designer that shares a similar background. Creative South, while it has a rad podcast, is a creative design conference in the south. If you’re a designer, Creative South Podcast has interviewed some awesome designers and covered a variety of topics as well. On another note for episodes this month, we are releasing an extra episode and not on the normal schedule. The next episode is also a special recording where the Market The Brew Podcast and the Branding Brews Podcast come together for a special release. So, let’s try something new here and get started with this crossover interview on this episode of Branding Brews.
In this episode of Creatoring, we are joined by our good friend Jason Frostholm. Jason is the host of the Creative South Podcast. When he approached us about doing a special crossover, he probably didn't know what he was getting into. We discuss being weird, finding an audience, the meaning of life, and how visual gags don't work in an audio format. Stay tuned at the end of the episode for our first new segment, :30 Metal Review with Brian Manley.
Had a blast hearing Jason Frostholm story. Talking about his journey and how he became the voice of Creative South podcast. https://www.creativesouth.com/podcast
Today on the Podcast, we’re doing something a little different. It’s our 100th episode, and to celebrate we’re flipping the mic around and my friend, brother, and Creative South co-founder, Mike Jones is interviewing me. It’s weird being on the other side of the mic, but we have a fun time talking about where I grew up, how I got into art and design, how the podcast got started, where the podcast is going, and more.
