Zombified: A production of ASU and Zombie Apocalypse Medicine
What would your kids do if they were stuck in the zombie apocalypse and you were nowhere to be found? That’s the premise of Shabam!, a podcast where the story of the zombie apocalypse is a vehicle for explaining science and infrastructure to audiences of all ages. We talk to creators, Josh Kurtz and Wendy Roderwiess, about the challenges of communicating scientific ideas and how to use engaging storytelling and silly voices to create a compelling narrative that is both interesting and informative. Listen with your kids, so they learn how to survive if you get eaten by a zombie!
Shabam!'s Wendy Roderweiss and Josh Kurz join John, along with clips from an interview with a doctor on the front line of the medical response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Join us on the Mission Log Facebook page!

Warning: This month’s episode might be our most disgusting yet! It’s about the wild world of helminths. What’s a helminth, you ask? A parasitic worm! And it’s looking for one thing: to use your body as an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Special guest Dr. Kenny Bahn joins us to recount his nightmare patient story. And special guest host Josh Kurz joins the crew for some laughter, some tears, and some tips on how to weaponize your parasitic enemies. You’ll never look at sushi the same way again!
