The year was 1986, VHS was the best way to see movies, there was nothing more thrilling than finding a hidden gem at the back of the video shop, and there was one name that meant action, adventure and excitement! Stargrove. Lance Stargrove. John Stamos is Lance Stargrove, son of a legendary superspy played by George Lazenby, who must team up with sultry secret agent Danja Deering (played by singer Vanity), to stop a plot by the villainous Velvet Von Ragnar (played by singer Gene Simmons) who intends to poison the city's water supply with the help of his post apocalyptic acolytes! Catchy theme songs, fast cars, beautiful women, explosions and high tech gadgets... it's no wonder that NEVER TOO YOUNG TO DIE was a huge box office success and spawned countless sequels. With news that John Stamos is retiring from the role this year, the question on everyone's lips is, who will be the next Stargrove?

Acomi and Turk182 happen upon one the greatest hidden gems of 80s action, Never Too Young To Die starring a young John Stamos, Vanity, and KISS front man Gene Simmons. Stamos plays college student and gymnast, Lance Stargrove, who finds himself pulled into a world of espionage after learning his recently deceased father was actually a secret agent. Unbeknownst to him, or the agency, is the person that killed agent Stargrove is Ragnar, a rock star, the sinister leader of a biker gang, and also a double agent. Ragnar, played by Gene Simmons, his hiding more than just his identity from the agency. Now, with the help of his father's friend Danja, played by Vanity, Lance has to find the missing disc and stop Ragnar's plan to flood California with toxic waste. This movie is young 80s action at its finest! More crazy than 2 bags of cats! Note: During recording, Acomi and Turk often refer to John Stamos as "Uncle Joey" from the TV series Full House. Stamos' character was actually Uncle Jessie. But, since neither of them ever watched Full House, they didn't know or care. Acomi and Turk182, along the occasional special guest, provide running commentary of awfulsome movie and TV shows. The hosts select movies that either one, or both, have never seen. All jokes and comments are improvised. NO PREPARED JOKES OR COMMENTS! During recording, the movies are watched at a low volume and with the subtitles on. Viewers may want to turn subtitles on as well to enhance the viewing experience. So, cue up the audio, ready the movie, and hit play when we say so. Note: This video is the commentary recorded by Acomi and Turk182, and selected screenshots. It is NOT a viewable copy of the film. Spencer and Hobert sit down with B-Movie Master Justin Fiocca and some film-pals to be introduced to the Jame-Bond-Lite John Stamos vehicle Never Too Young To Die. This movie’s got it all: bad acting, inexplicable twists, boring action scenes, weird sex scenes, and more stereotypes than you can shake pointy metal finger at. John Stamos stars as Lance Stargrove, a junior spy with a dead dad (George Lazenby), a quirky best friend (Peter Kwong), a partner/girlfriend he seemingly inherits (Vanity), and a nemesis (Gene Simmons) with a very convoluted scheme. Will Stargrove make his daddy proud? Or will LA get poisoned or something?

In this week's Crap Movies of the Week, we look at Never Too Young To Die, a 1986 feature starring John Stamos as Lance Stargrove (!). He's a young man who, with the help of a secret-agent Danja Deering (Vanity a.k.a. the ex of the Purple One, Prince) must avenge the death of his secret-agent dad (George Lazenby) at the hands of the evil hermaphrodite Velvet Von Ragner (Gene Simmons). The Bond similarities include a Q and an M but for the most part, it's a whole lot of BS. Simmons is part of a Vegas-style variety act, done in fishnets and channeling Rocky Horror Picture Show. Robert Englund shows up too, to disgrace himself (the film's not mentioned in Bob's book, not surprisingly). Also, is Bruno Mattei the worst director of all time? He's got stiff competition from Uwe Boll but stands head and shoulders above. He directed Robowar - Robot da Guerra - which is basically a Predator knock-off with elements of Robocop. It stars Really Awful Movies' buff favorite: Reb Brown. Also, expendable guns and bandoliers and Bruno Mattei's last film: Zombies: the Beginning.

Believe it or not, but there was a time where John Stamos was attempting to become the next big action hero. At this same time, Gene Simmons was attempting to become an actor. Well clearly both of these attempts didn’t quite work out the way they wanted to, but we did get one insane movie out of it that’s for sure. The movie we speak of is the 1986 action flick Never Too Young To Die. In it Stamos plays Lance Stargrove, the son of murdered secret agent Drew Stargrove, who must take the reigns of his father and stop the evil hermaphrodite Velvet Von Ragnar! Ragnar, played by Gene Simmons, is attempting to combine the local water supply with all of the toxic waste build up by….well maybe if you guys watch you can figure it out because we sure as hell couldn’t. This absurd action flick is in full on YouTube if you feel like taking a walk on the wild side. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bmoviebreakdown/support
