Tonight on the show, we're diving into a trio of cult-favorite musicals that blur the lines between horror, comedy, camp, and tragedy: The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975, starring Tim Curry), Little Shop of Horrors (1986, starring Rick Moranis), and the 2001 filmed stage production of Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical, featuring David Hasselhoff in a career-defining dual performance. At first glance, these might seem like wildly different productions—ranging from glam-rock alien chaos to doo-wop-infused plant horror, to a dark, gothic tale of split identity—but together they tell a broader story about how musical theater has embraced monstrosity as metaphor. Each of these works asks: What happens when the line between man and monster blurs? What desires are we really afraid of? And can we sing our way through the madness?Tim Curry's Frank-N-Furter is a force of nature—part scientist, part seducer, part destroyer. Rocky Horror was a revolution in form and content, upending gender norms, mocking genre tropes, and creating an interactive cult ritual that has endured for nearly 50 years. It's a cultural milestone not just because of what it is, but because of what it unleashed—a safe space for the weird, the queer, and the outsider.Rick Moranis' Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors gives us a very different kind of mad scientist: a nebbish pushover corrupted by power, ambition, and a bloodthirsty plant. The film (based on the Howard Ashman and Alan Menken stage musical) blends 1960s Motown stylings with Faustian tragedy, capturing the dark side of the American dream—and warning us what happens when we feed the things that promise us love and success. And then there's Jekyll and Hyde, the most classical of the three, but perhaps the most psychologically intense. Hasselhoff's performance—often memed, but undeniably committed—gives us a musical take on Robert Louis Stevenson's timeless story of duality. It's a sweeping, gothic powerhouse of repression, temptation, and the dangers of scientific hubris—a thematic cousin to both Frank-N-Furter and Seymour in ambition and eventual ruin.Reviewing these three together allows us to trace how musicals have uniquely adapted horror and moral ambiguity to the stage and screen. From parody to tragedy to grand melodrama, these stories use music to heighten emotion, build absurdity, and expose the deep fears and fantasies lurking behind every monstrous transformation. So grab your fishnets, your gardening shears, or your top hat and cane—we're about to explore the darker, stranger side of musical theater, where the monsters are often the ones singing the loudest.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

We delve into their recent comic Double Feature, which challenges societal taboos around fetishes and upholds body positivity. Together, we reflect on how Gloomy's influences, from Rocky Horror Picture Show to indie comics and punk aesthetics, have shaped their art and storytelling. Their unique perspective encourages us to question societal norms, confront personal shame, and embrace self-expression with empathy and openness. We also discuss the broader themes Gloomy tackles in their comics, including the male loneliness epidemic and the complexities of online relationships. Their ongoing series, Cat Girl, examines these issues through a compassionate lens, offering nuanced commentary on patriarchal pressures and the need for genuine human connection. The conversation touches on Gloomy's exploration of hyper-capitalism, the commodification of authenticity, and the societal constructs that shape our understanding of ourselves and others. Finally, Gloomy shares their insights into creative freedom and the importance of vulnerability in both relationships and art. Their commitment to challenging stigmas and fostering understanding reminds us of the transformative power of honest storytelling. Whether through exploring kink as a metaphor for intimacy or creating spaces for marginalized voices, Gloomy's work inspires us to embrace our full, authentic selves.  Check out Gloomy's website and Twitter Find the podcast and resources at https://FartFetishPodcast.com

(PATREON EXCLUSIVE)Kathryn shares what it is about Chef that she really enjoys.Melvin compares Chef to Parks & Recreation, saying how it's a movie with conflict but ultimately everyone still kinda likes each other. It's fairly clear that Chef is somewhat an artistic response to John Favreau's experience with Marvel, Iron Man 2, and the subsequent critical response to it.Which food in the movie got us the most hungry. The movie explores the dynamics of the artist and the observer (or, critic), and Melvin spends some time categorizing what he thinks are variations of these archetypes.Chef depicts professionalism and the pursuit of maturity well.Sometimes eating food is like time travel.Seeking to live a life by design, not by default.Recommendations:Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking (2017) (Cookbook)Salt Fat Acid Heat (2018) (Cooking Show)Try new and exotic foods, and be adventurous with what you eat! Minecraft Makes $80 Million in Week 2! Jack Black Surprises Moviegoers! [Video Game News]

A Minecraft Movie made $80 million in its second weekend, which is INSANE! And then Jack Black surprised a bunch of young moviegoers by showing up a theater. Kids bringing live chickens to "Minecraft" movie screenings and throwing popcorn at the screen mimics "Rocky Horror Picture Show" audience participation, potentially disrupting theater operations. The "Minecraft" movie's $550 million global gross in just 10 days challenges Disney and Marvel's dominance, outperforming "Captain America: Brave New World." A PG-rated video game adaptation starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa becoming the highest-grossing film of the year could reshape Hollywood's approach to game-based movies. "Minecraft" movie's success, with $281 million domestic and $550 million global earnings, may encourage more disruptive audience behavior in theaters. Warner Brothers' cautious marketing strategy for "Minecraft" paying off with record-breaking $162 million debut could influence future blockbuster promotional tactics. Lyrics: LIKE A HURRICANE –Robert Levinsky and Yaakov Asher Sinclair ©1978/2018 A little lower than the Angels You placed Man, With all the power to be a partner in Your great plan. A heart that's filled with lust and anger betrays the soul, We can reach a little higher, our wings unfold. Like a Hurricane – reaching for the sky where angels fear to fly, Like a Hurricane - - they fall away - our feet of clay Like a Hurricane – Don't look down! We left the ground. Borne on wings of prayer. The world is filled with much confusion near the eye of the storm, So much bloff - so much illusion – the heart is torn. Times a'changing ever faster – the End is near, When all the world will seek the Master. Rejoice in fear! Like a Hurricane – reaching for the sky where angels fear to fly, Like a Hurricane - they fall away - our feet of clay Like a Hurricane – Don't look down! We left the ground. Borne on wings of prayer. Were I to take the wings of dawn to the distant West, Also there Your Hand would guide me, Your Right Hand to my quest. Like a Hurricane – reaching for the sky where angels fear to fly, Like a Hurricane - - they fall away - our feet of clay Like a Hurricane – Don't look down! We left the ground, Fighting for King and Country. Like a Hurricane In 1972, Rabbi Yaakov Asher Sinclair opened SARM Studios the first 24-track recording studio in Europe where Queen mixed “Bohemian Rhapsody”. His music publishing company, Druidcrest Music published the music for The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1973) and as a record producer, he co-produced the quadruple-platinum debut album by American band “Foreigner” (1976). In 1987, he settled in Jerusalem to immerse himself in the study of Torah. It's a simple enough show this week, kids. We're just looking at a bunch of movies from half a century ago. 1975 was a game-changing year in film. Early 70s trends like blaxploitation and dystopian sci-fi were about to be swept aside, as a certain giant Spielbergian shark ushered in the blockbuster era. But meanwhile, the year still offered some genuine classics (Dog Day Afternoon, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), some cult classics (Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Rocky Horror Picture Show), some Disney for the kids (Apple Dumpling Gang, Escape to Witch Mountain), giant spiders, crazy mamas, blazing stewardesses, switchblade sisters, and plenty of Pam Grier. So pop in a Glen Campbell 8-track and cruise over to your local ugly 1970s movie theater. And grab a big box of Raisinets, even though they're lousy. The Flopcast website! The ESO Network! These are the things that Hashem commanded to do them:” (35:1) Here's a parable drawn from motorcycles to illustrate the concept of ‘bidieved' - an untranslatable word usually translated as ‘after the fact.' A mitzva has an ideal – lechatchila – way to be performed, but there is also a degree of latitude that, while not ideal, will still cause the mitzva to have its effect. That's 'bidieved.' Die, Monster, Die! (1965), Necronomicon (1993), and Gods of the Deep (2023) While Stephen King may dominate when it comes to movie adaptations of his work—good or bad—one might expect that H.P. Lovecraft, given his immense impact on the literary world, would inspire just as many films. Yet, despite his influence, far fewer movies have been made from his stories than you'd think. Perhaps it's because Lovecraft's horror isn't about the details of what his characters see, but rather what those horrors do to them—often driving them into madness. And therein lies the beauty of his work. In this episode, we dive into three very different films, spanning three decades, each drawing from the strange and unsettling tales of this enigmatic author from Providence, Rhode Island. If you're not well-versed in Lovecraft's work, this is your chance to experience three adaptations—loose as they may be—that offer a glimpse into his nightmarish imagination. Films Mentioned in this Episode: Castle Freak (1995), Color Out of Space (2019), Creepshow (1982), The Crimson Blade (1963), Crying Freeman (1995), Demon Wind (1990), The Devil-Ship Pirates (1964), Die, Monster, Die! (1965), Dracula Prince of Darkness (1966), The Dunwich Horror (1970), The Evil Dead (1981), From Beyond (1986), Gamera, Guardian of the Universe (1995), Gods of the Deep (2023), Hatchet (2006), The Haunted Palace (1963), Humanoids from the Deep (1981), In the Mouth of Madness (1994), The Invisible Ray (1935), Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988), Leprechaun (1993), Leprechaun 2 (1994), Leprechaun 4: In Space (1996), Leprechaun 5: In the Hood (2000), Leprechaun 6: Back 2 Tha Hood (2003), Lovecraft Country (2020), Lurking Fear (1994), Necronomicon (1993), Re-Animator (1985), Return of the Living Dead III (1993), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), The Unnamable (1988), Vampyres (1974)
