Baby Geniuses. We have nothing to say about this in the writeup aside from our yelling and alliterations. Total dogshit. What a bullshit way to start Season 22! Don't watch this movie. Listen to this episode though, it rules! Babies who are barely babies bewilder buffoon behaviorists, break out of the bio lab, only to break back in and bonk baby bashing bastards with a brawling baby bot. DeLuise's lug nuts! Pee-oopie bottoms baby bowel banter! Broad daylight duffle bagging! Big baby fat shaming and wishing Sheeva would rain wrath down on your friends! Stoller seduction! Breenish bullshit, and much, much more on this week's episode of The Worst Movie Ever Made! www.theworstmovieevermade.com
To anyone who finds this recording; I, David Snider, and the rest of the passengers on Spirit Airlines: Flight 32 are being held hostage! We were on our way to the Michael Bay Film Festival when our flight was hijacked by former Immortan of the Wasteland, Nick Hoof. I think we, and by we I mean the brave workers from Apocalypse Video - Ryan, Cody, and myself - will be okay; it's the other passengers on the flight that I'm worried about. Nick has said that he's going to subject us to one bad movie after another until his Immortan-hood is reinstated. And he's starting us off with Passenger 57, which if you're unaware, only holds a 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, me and my guys are used to this kind of punishment, but the rest of these people…well, I'm not sure how long they'll last. Please - give in to whatever crazy demands Nick has. I don't know how much longer we have… Thankfully, Nick has graciously allowed us to record a podcast during his hijacking. So, with that in mind… Topics of discussion in this episode include an impromptu discussion on Passenger 57 - aka: Carnival 57 (Featuring 30 minutes of Plane Footage); Ryan can't help himself from thirsting over Elizabeth Hurley; and finally, we rate John Cutter on his effectiveness as an anti-terrorism agent (Note: Getting a hostage killed within two minutes of revealing yourself is an automatic Fail). Be sure to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. You can also Follow Us on Twitter, Like Us on Facebook, or shoot us an email at apocalypsevideopod@gmail.com How do you think John Cutter ranks among the action heroes of the 90s? Let us know, we wanna hear from ya! That'll do it for this impromptu episode recorded under duress. We'll see you next time…assuming we make it out of this alive (I think I heard Nick say that Baby Geniuses is up next…God help us all!).

For one last time in 2024, we're closing out DePalmber: Part De by opening the vault door and welcoming another of our beloved classics into the podcast canon, this time a bleak noir thriller about a foley artist in the film industry who winds up recording proof of a political murder conspiracy while out grabbing sounds for a new low-end horror picture, and gets swept up into a dark world of intrigue where no one is safe. It's 1981's Blow Out, written and directed by Brian De Palma and starring John Travolta, Nancy Allen, Jon Lithgow, Dennis Franz, Peter Boyden, John Aquino and Deborah Everton. Like Michael Mann's Thief (released just four months earlier), it feels like a visionary director establishing countless trademark flourishes in an early outing before really hitting their stride as the decade continued. And just like Thief, that early outing may prove to be a high-water mark neither man ever cleared again. Plus: without any theatrical outing to report on to end the year, we're vibing out with hoarfrost and the music of Waxahatchee. If you'd like to watch the movie before listening along to this conversation, and we loved this movie so we strongly recommend you do, Blow Out is currently streaming for free on Tubi (at least in Canada) at the time of publication. Other works discussed in this episode include Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Nosferatu, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Abigail, The Brutalist, The Order, Blue Chips, Air, Hustle, Hoosiers, Moneyball, Glory Road, Miracle, The Way Back, The Holdovers, Knives Out, Glass Onion, Law Abiding Citizen, I Saw the TV Glow, Monkey Man, Biggest Heist Ever, Joker: Folie à Deux, A Christmas Story, Black Christmas, Baby Geniuses, The Karate Dog, A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, To Grandmother's House We Go, New York Minute, Scarface, Body Double, Pulp Fiction, Gotti, The Fanatic, Dexter, Conclave, Cliffhanger, Nightcrawler, and Nope among many more. We'll be back next week to kick off 2025 with the Bernie Mac baseball comedy Mr. 3000, to celebrate J Mo crossing the 3000 films watched lifetime milestone at some point in the year that was 2024. That's as good a reason to watch it as any I suppose, and you can find Mr. 3000 streaming for free on Hoopla at the moment. Until then, we'll see you at the movies!!

“Creepy kids” is practically a movie genre unto itself, especially if you broaden the scope and rightfully include films like Baby Geniuses and characters like Sid from Toy Story. Generally, though, these spooky little squirts are a well-deserved subset of horror that's ripe for conversation — including the one in this episode of Cinebuds. The easy thing to do would be to just jump into examples and rattle off a list, but that isn't their style. Our film-loving duo digs down to the foundation and determines what qualifies as a “creepy kid” movie. What age is prime “creepy kid” territory? What are the tropes that connect these films? How did Martin Short find his way into the subgenre?Produced and edited by Marcus Doucette
In the 1980s, psychic Nancy Ann Tappe saw something she would never forget, the next step in human evolution. THE INDIGO CHILDREN. Join Alex, Eli and Jasmine as we discuss the ins and outs of what makes someone an Indigo Child, the public schooling system, the 1999 blockbuster Baby Geniuses and is Qui-Gon Jinn a cryptid?
I'm tired and lazy so here's the first few paragraphs of the movie from Wikipedia. Baby Geniuses is a 1999 American family comedy film directed by Bob Clark and written by Clark and Greg Michael, from a story by Clark, Steven Paul, Francisca Matos, and Robert Grasmere. It stars Kathleen Turner, Christopher Lloyd, Kim Cattrall, Peter MacNicol, and Ruby Dee. The film has the distinction of being the first full-length feature to use computer-generated imagery for the synthesis of human visual speech. 2D warping techniques were used to digitally animate the mouth viseme shapes of the babies which were originally shot with their mouths closed. The viseme shapes were sampled from syllables uttered by the babies on the set. Baby Geniuses was almost universally panned by critics, who lambasted its acting, humor, special effects, writing, and directing, but it grossed $36.5 million worldwide against a production budget of $12 million. In 2004, it was followed by a sequel, Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2, which was a box office bomb, and received even worse critical reviews, receiving a nomination for Worst Picture at the 25th Golden Raspberry Awards. throwbacktheaterpodcast@gmail.com

EMANON was the directorial debut of Stuart Paul, but the film is truly a family production. Stuart Paul's siblings, Steven and Bonnie Paul, as well as his mother, Dorothy Paul, have credits on the movie. Becoming familiar with these names will unlock an entire world of filmmaking, with famous titles over the years one may not have realized were interconnected — for instance, the BABY GENIUSES franchise, and the BRATZ live action adaptation are all Steven Paul productions. Stuart, however is the one who shines in EMANON - he plays the titular character, a homeless drunk capable of magical feats that cause some to believe he may be the second coming of Christ. He is watched with interest by Jason Ballentine, heir of the famous Ballentine fashion company — a disabled spoiled rich kid who is driven around New York City all day by his faithful chauffeur, Max. Jason's mother Molly is struggling to take over the company after the Ballentine patriarch recently passed away. When Jason discovers Emanon, this unassuming man could unlock the key to creating a truly bizarre “homeless couture” fashion line that will change the world and get the Ballentine company back into financial solvency. Hey movie buffs, get ready for another chaotic episode of "Not Actually Film Critics"! This week, Zea and Mox are hanging out in the "Last Wish" zone - which is basically just a fancy way of saying another member messed up their recording and is added to Izzy's shit list! But fear not, because we've got some juicy topics to cover this week. First up, we'll be discussing whether or not robots are coming to steal our jobs. Spoiler alert: they probably are. But don't worry, we've got some tips for how to make yourself indispensable in a world ruled by machines. Hint: it involves becoming a professional robot whisperer. Next, we'll be tackling some seriously cringe-worthy moments in cinema history. From Jon Voight's yellow face in "Baby Geniuses" to Warren Beatty's chokehold on the Dick Tracy IP, we'll be laughing (and crying) at some of the most ridiculous decisions made by Hollywood bigwigs. Then, we'll be asking the age-old question: how long should it take for a movie or TV show to enter the public domain? We'll be debating the merits of intellectual property laws and trying not to fall asleep in the process. Izzy will be reviewing the action-packed "Free Guy", while Mox takes on the...uh...unique fanfiction crossover "Trailblazer: Worm/Gundam". Finally, to end our theme of Edge Runners, a review of Brandon Cronenberg's "Infinity Pool". Trust us, you won't want to miss this one. So grab some popcorn (or whatever snack robots eat) and join us for another hilarious episode of "Not Actually Film Critics"! Episode Description Powered by ChatGPT Support us on Patreon!
Emily Heller (comedian, writer) gets blocked by a comedian who took a turn for the worse at some point and ended up at January 6th. Whether Emily was blocked pre-January 6th or not, an inflammatory tweet on the fateful day sealed it, and she lived to tell the Tale. She also lives to tell us a bunch more stuff, as we chat about pull-out couches, doormats, writing jokes in our dreams, and we learn an awful lot about hot peppers. Elsewhere, we also chat about Tarot TikTok, our friend dril has a great tweet about the state of Twitter, and Stefan shows us a truly cursed promoted tweet reply. And if that's not enough, John and Emily's recent friendship over Jeopardy! explodes in the Top 3 and we decide that we may have to start an entire podcast about it. If you want more and varied episodes of this podcast, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, we posted two great episodes, one for our $8 and above donors where John watched Goodfellas for the first time and dissected it with our friend Dan O'Sullivan, and another which was the first in a new series we're calling Heck/Cullen, where John and Stefan do a bit more of a serious-style interview with one of our more interesting friends. Episode 1 featured Steve Sladkowski from PUP, and it was a blast! We've also got merch discounts, a great Discord, and more, so check it out! In what may well be the strangest movie Davis and Skyler have ever reviewed (okay, second strangest after Baby Geniuses 2: Superbabies), the guys enlist the help of Scott, Skyler's brother, to break down WARRIORS OF VIRTUE. One part kung-fu movie, one part mystical world-building from another dimension, all parts ham-fisted camp. Davis, Skyler, and Scott share their thoughts on the ongoing KENOBI series and the larger fate of Star Wars before diving into this fever dream of a movie. Along the way, they discover the relatively unknown extended universe of merchandise, novels, and sequels. Davis strongly considers collecting the Warriors of Virtue action figures. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/5dollartuesdays/message

It started with an email in 2017 and ends with a March Madness-style ranking of minor Frasier characters! TV writer and “Baby Geniuses” host Emily Heller joins Anita for an epic character showdown. From Maris vs. Bebe Glazer to Baby the cockatoo vs. “Wine Club,” the competition is fierce AND controversial. Following Emily's March Madness rules, a minor character must have appeared in at least 2 episodes and “wine club” counts as a character. She also spills the deets on lunch with Peri Gilpin, buying a chair formerly owned by David Hyde Pierce, Joe Keenan's advice on writing farce, and “Frasier sleepers.” Learn more about your ad choices. Hello babies!Neil Degrasse Tyson here, letting you to know that the so called "Baby Geniuses" are simply two adult women of average intelligence. On today's episode, Emily shares some important results and Lisa struggles with a hat.On Wiki of the Week, we read the Wikipedia page for "Hollywood Freeway chickens," a colony of feral chickens that live under the Vineland Avenue off-ramp of the Hollywood Freeway (U.S. Route 101) in Los Angeles, California. Finally, an explanation for why the Star Map I purchased recently was so hard to read.
A Halloween movie without Michael Myers?! What a concept! Crazier ideas have happened though. Someone thought it was ok to make a second Baby Geniuses movie. This week join me as I talk about Halloween: Season of the Witch. If you have suggestions for episodes, comments or concerns send them to videostorewasteland@gmail.com

Evan Fitzgerald and Christian Queen are back in the studio and they are joined by stand up comedian, and candy addict, Austin Langely. This was our first episode with a guest and it starts off hot with odd facts about Hitler's ability to riff and his sexual habits involving his shoes. Austin explains the Lorena Bobbitt story, roasting people in the crowd at comedy shows and the pressure of ordering for your first time at A&W. Evan talks about his recent pant pooping stories and how he blames his most recent on Austin, and then goes on a tangent about "Street Watchers" and seeing a person driving while smoking crack behind the wheel. Christian tells the story of his first time smoking weed and Slaughterhouse Studios is considering sponsoring an athlete from non-traditional sports, so the group discusses different possible ideas such as cliff tenting, ice boating, crab racing, and chess boxing. Austin divulges the legend of Fat Man Superman and Evan admits to dropping a slice of pizza on the sidewalk of Colfax and still eating it probably gave him some superpowers. Christian brings up the Only Fans controversy, Evan shows off his discovery of the funniest google reviewer Borg Cylor, and Austin recommends a "cooking with cum" recipe book called Natural Harvest. Evan gets shamed for his recent business venture idea of collecting and crushing aluminum cans and the group discusses the cinematic master piece that is, Baby Geniuses and other artsy films. Slaughterhouse Studios would like to thank Austin for coming by and being our first guest on the podcast! Follow Austin @jokesandspokes on Instagram
