Mike talks with casting director Mark Sikes to get behind the stories on your favorite PM Entertainment movies (Hologram Man, Skyscraper, The Sweeper) as well as his experience working with Roger Corman.
Bobby, Matt Simpson (from Movie Melt!), and Mike discuss the PM entertainment classic, Hologram Man! A dude in a Korn wig murders the governor of CA and comes back as a "hologram man" in the near future to bring down the corrupt corporate government. As a special bonus, we have an interview with the casting director from this film, Mark Sikes, coming up on our main feed where he answers all questions we have about PM entertainment in the 90s.
Casting Director Mark Sikes casts independent features, was one of the first paid bloggers in entertainment sphere, and produced an award winning documentary about a mysterious production he helped cast.I wanted to interview him while I was reading his book HOLLYWOOD MADE SIMPLE. The book blew me away and I knew we had to discuss it. He is such a good gentleman, and really nothing was off limits during our talk (even his email address)
Pull your chair up next to the fire, grab your favorite cup of tea, and settle in for a good read. We've got several books we've found that should entertain you through even the gloomiest of days. We love a good book, and with the yucky weather, I'm so ready to get started with a wonderful page turner. Most of these are design books, but we have a few other gems thrown in! Almost 20 years ago, one of the most notorious comic book films of all time was produced: Roger Corman's 'The Fantastic Four'! For most of its existence, this unreleased gem, which fans either loved or bemoaned, was only available through bootleg fan copies at comic book conventions. A VHS or DVD copy was the Holy Grail of Geekdom! Now, on the eve of production on the documentary 'Doomed: The Untold Story of Roger Corman's "Fantastic Four" Movie', original cast members Rebecca Staab, Joseph Culp, Carl Ciarfalio and documentary producer Mark Sikes (who was a casting assistant on the film) talk about what it was like making the film, being in the film and looking back 20 years later! Geekscapist Satori claims "This is a really great ep, probably my favorite since you've been on Toadhop." and "This is BRILLIANT!!!!" Who are we to argue with a longtime Geekscapist? Enjoy!
