Megan is BACK! We are so excited to welcome Megan B. Bartley back to the pod and help us dissect the inner workings of parenting and privacy. We live in a digital age where most interactions happen at our fingertips and that is a heavy burden for an adolescent. How do you keep them safe? How do you monitor without prying? These are all touchy topics to approach a pre-teen. Today, Megan walks us through the power of being a good listener, trusting your gut, and asking the right questions for your child. She even touches on what privacy and secrecy mean at different ages and even for a marriage. #mindblown Enjoy the show, zen friends! The title of this episode says it all. Megan B. Bartley is BACK and she is here to help the zen community look deeper into what is creating a rise in childhood anxiety and what we can start doing today to help our kids. SPOILER! It most likely can start with you and that is not a bad thing. As Megan explains, all kids exist within numerous systems and the most important system is the one at home. Added stress throughout the last year has left many of the nurturers of the household on emotional empty. Who is nurturing the nurturer? During this episode you might ask yourself a lot of probing questions. What is my parenting temperature? Can I take a step back? Is anyone dying? We think this is a much needed therapy session with Megan to help unlock exactly what the nurturer needs right now. Megan B Bartley IG Megan B Bartley Website

She earned her Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy (MAMFT) from the Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, and is the Founding Director of the Louisville Mindfulness Center – a local organization dedicated to teaching people of all ages practical ways to use mindfulness and meditation to improve their lives. Named one of the Best Marriage Counselors in Louisville, Megan offers an out-of-the-box therapeutic approach that is both radically transformational and insanely practical. Hands-on, judgment-free and eclectic, Megan is widely informed by her ongoing passion for learning which most recently involves training in Ericksonian Hypnosis and Reiki, and a healthy dose of international travel (she's made it to 5 continents so far!). Oftentimes this self-proclaimed “recovering perfectionist” and die-hard “optimist realist” serves in more of a coaching role, helping clients in high pressured, high profile positions identify and move past obstacles in pursuit of optimal performance. As a painter, entrepreneur, activist, and published author, Megan continually draws on her keen intuition in all that she does, Megan explains: “...when I listen to my gut, which I'm really good at doing, it never fails me.” Future plans include more writing and podcasts, paired with the introduction of an online curriculum to share her easy-to-use skills and tools with a broader audience.

Our resident CZL therapist is back in the studio to talk about dealing with difficult people in our lives. Megan B. Bartley has returned to share all of her knowledge and how to apply strategies when dealing with challenging views or actions in various relationships. "You can't play tug-of-war if you never pick up the rope," as Megan says. She discusses the power and confidence that we must gain within ourselves to conduct our actions and operate as our highest self. She addresses ways and even responses you can take to try to repel or rebuild a difficult relationship. We can only control our actions not the actions of those around us. Sit back and let the therapy session begin. Enjoy, Zen Friends! https://meganbaylesbartley.com/
One of the biggest struggles as a parent is getting our children to sleep. After a long day and our parent tank is on empty. We usually feel anxious, exhausted, and most of all frustrated. Megan Bartley was in the same boat and she stumbled across positive language that helped her daughter drift to dreamland in a calm relaxing manner. So, Megan decided to put her technique in a book for all to use titled, "Don't Go To Sleep." This book offers simple, awareness language that assists not only the child to a calm peaceful place, but also the parent. Megan also has 17 years of experience as a marriage and family therapist and licensed for 11 years. She even founded the Louisville Mindfulness Center. This center specializes in bringing joy and peace into the lives of others through mindful practices. Megan's mission is to give you the tools to bring more awareness to your aspects of your life like setting boundaries, understanding things that are out of your control, and ways to view certain issues from multiple perspectives. We are so happy that Megan was able to join us and kick off our childhood wellness month. Enjoy, zen friends!
