Can the Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT - help and support a healing journey? In this episode with Emma Roberts of the EFT Centre. Emma will introduce you to EFT, explain how it can be used to support health and healing as well as do a demonstration with me. One, that you can join in with at home. I stumbled upon EFT, or the Emotional Freedom Technique, much later in life than I had anticipated, especially considering my susceptibility to stress, which feels as debilitating as kryptonite. Yet, upon discovery, I found EFT to be an invaluable self-help tool, readily accessible once you understand its mechanics. It has the remarkable ability to diminish the emotional intensity of various situations, worries, and challenges. For individuals confronting health issues, EFT can serve as a powerful ally, offering support throughout their illness and aiding in their journey toward recovery. Sue Beer and Emma Roberts Sue Beer and Emma Roberts are the co-founders of The iEFT Centre and the originators and pioneers of Integrated Energy Techniques (IET), bringing together energy psychology and the very best ways of working with Ericksonian Hypnosis, NLP, Coaching, Cognitive Psychotherapy and Psycho-spiritual approaches. Their combined backgrounds have proven to be a very strong foundation within which the newer breakthrough approaches of energy psychology continue to grow and develop. Sue and Emma were also two of the first ten practitioners in the world to be awarded the title EFT Master by Gary Craig. They are the authors of Healing the Addicted Heart (Sue Beer) and Even Though I Have Cancer... (Emma Roberts). Welcome back to the first episode of the year, with Alan Questel. Alan is a renown Feldenkrais practitioner, teacher and author. I found my conversation with him to be both enjoyable and deeply fascinating. I loved where the conversation went. Alan's wisdom, authenticity and generosity added so much value to this episode. In the beginning of our conversation we delved into a myriad of thought-provoking topics inspired by Charles Bukowski's assertion that we often fail to be good to one another. We explored the environmental factors contributing to this phenomenon and how our self-image, deeply intertwined with our self-regard, plays a crucial role. An intriguing discussion began to unfold around the transformative power of physical movement and its impact on our self-perception, emphasizing the importance of moving in ways that resonate positively with us.We then navigate the paradox of finding it easier to extend kindness to others than to ourselves, underscoring the value of small acts of kindness in enhancing how we feel about ourselves. The conversation shifts to practical steps one can take to aid others and how these actions can catalyze personal growth. We dissect the notion that kindness often starts with small gestures and reflect on the ways we are already kind in our daily lives.Further, we examine how movement influences our thoughts and feelings, with a focus on its fundamental role in all our actions. The episode highlights the contrasting perspectives of observers and doers, proposing that kindness is born from action, which is inherently linked to movement. We then shifted the conversation to focus on the things we excel at in our daily routines and how mastering small tasks provides the confidence to tackle larger challenges. The discussion moves to the timeframe required for change, the significance of being present in the moment, and the positive impact of reducing self-criticism.The episode also offers insights into moments of self-reflection, strategies for evolving into the person we aspire to be in a year, and the potential within us. We delve into the pitfalls of the comparing mind, the tension between reality and expectations, and the quest for purpose. In another highly interesting shift, we explore Milton Erickson's work on Ericksonian Hypnosis, its implications on depression and perceived lack of choice, and the actions that can lead to meaningful change. We discuss demonstrations of agency, engagement, performance, and the innovative approach of learning differently. The conversation takes a deeper turn into understanding the context of 'no context', the issues with the 'just do it' mentality, and the art of tolerating discomfort. We examine the impact of false beliefs and how stress can surprisingly offer benefits. This leads to a discussion on the misconception of overnight success and the reality of success being decades in the making. The episode wraps up with an encouragement to give a bit more in everything we do, introducing our listeners to Alan Questel's insightful work. We highlight his website www.practicing-kindness.com and his book “Practice Intentional Acts of Kindness,” which provide valuable resources for those looking to delve deeper into these themes. This episode is a rich tapestry of ideas and insights, inviting listeners to reflect, move, and grow in kindness towards themselves and others. It's a must-listen for anyone seeking to understand the intricate relationship between our actions, our self-image, and the kindness we extend to the world.Thank you for listening, enjoy! [00:45] The First Keto Conference & Expo In New York City Kristina has a desire in her heart to bring the low-carb ketogenic message to more people. If you feel stuck or stalled, a keto conference can be just what you need. A keto conference can help you feel inspired! Whatever your story is, the Keto Symposium will help you. Keto Symposium: https://www.ketosymposium.com/ (use code: BEN10) [10:40] Genes vs. Lifestyle: Which Matters More When It Comes To Health? If you're eating too late at night, it's going to affect your melatonin production. In general, you are less insulin sensitive after 7 pm. One gene that Kristina likes to test for is MTNR1B, also known as melatonin receptor 1B. We have control over our genes. If you are not getting the desired results, you may want to test your genes. When you know what genes you have, you can empower what you are doing in your lifestyle. [15:55] Time-Restricted Eating: Try Reducing Your Feeding Window For Weight Loss Results You should be done eating by 7 pm each night. The earlier you eat, the more insulin sensitive you become, the better your metabolic health markers, and the more weight you lose. If you struggle to lose weight, try eating breakfast and cutting your feeding window at 3 pm. When you are stuck, pivoting your mealtime will be essential to get the desired results. [30:20] The Top Three Keto Meal Plans That Can Work For You Kristina recommends a Mediterranean-style keto diet with a focus on fish, olive oil, and lean protein, with some sheep and goat dairy. The Mediterranean-style diet works best for people who have APOE variants. Another keto diet that works well is paleo. The paleo diet includes red meat, no dairy, a lot of eggs, bacon, squash, and sweet potatoes. Lastly, a carnivore diet can work for you. This diet includes a lot of fatty protein! [34:40] What You Need To Know About Genetic Nutrition Testing The test is $360. Your kit will come to your house, and you will provide a sample of saliva. Then, mail the kit back, and you will have results in about a month. Unfortunately, knowing what to do with the report is challenging once you have it. Luckily, Kristina will have a consult with you about your results! Check out Kristina's website to learn more: https://theketonutritionist.com/ [36:40] Is Counting Calories Good For Weight Loss? Weight loss is not as simple as counting calories. For instance, your sleep will affect your caloric expenditure. Also, gut health and mitochondrial health will change your caloric expenditure. The body is complex, beautiful, and intricate - counting calories doesn't take that into consideration. The most important thing to remember is to eat real foods instead of processed foods. [43:00] Many People Don't Even Know That They Are In Ketosis Many very lean people out there are inadvertently in ketosis and then just have no idea. Lean people will bash the keto lifestyle without knowing whether they are in ketosis or not. If you struggle with your weight, then you need to work on getting into ketosis because your body is not naturally gravitating there. Remember, keto is not a high-fat diet; keto is a metabolic process. AND MUCH MORE! Paul is a licensed therapist and a National Board Certified Fellow in Hypnotherapy. He has a doctorate in Counseling Psychology and is presently the coordinator of the psychology program at Aiken Technical College. He has authored eight books which focus on the areas of transformative psychotherapy, healing, shamanism, and personal development. Paul is a popular trainer of Solution-Based therapies, Ericksonian Hypnosis, and creative coaching applications. In this show, Paul and Lian explored the parallels between magic and psychotherapy, the power of our context for creating the life we live, how and why we make distinctions and how they can be limiting, and how we can move from a “problem solving existence” to a magical life in which we listen to our own hearts to guide us. I'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment below. What you'll learn from this episode: What is your Context? This is the filter through which you will see everything and create within. Paul talked about the way we make distinctions - this is natural and unavoidable, the invitation is to notice when our distinction has become a problem or limitation that is creating a life that isn't the one we desire I love how Paul talked about experience vs information... this is especially relevant for coaches and therapists but is actually so helpful for all of us who wish to create a life of wonder and meaning. [01:15] Complications From Insulin Resistance and The Standard American Diet It can take 15 to 20 years to develop insulin resistance. Parents don't want to take food away from their kids like macaroni, pizza, and chicken nuggets. Kids will start metabolically flexible and can get away with eating anything. However, it won't last forever. If you still want to buy chips, then Kristina will suggest buying chips with cleaner ingredients. Instead of buying Ben & Jerry's ice cream, try a pint of Rebel ice cream. The most common contributing factors leading to insulin resistance are lifestyle issues like nutrition. If we ate real food, then we wouldn't develop insulin resistance in the first place. Processed food is speeding our way to insulin resistance. [06:10] Are You A Sugar Burner? Here's What You Need To Do Now There are three things we can do when we are trying to get well: Time Restriction: how often you're eating and when you are eating. It's critical to stop eating before bedtime. Caloric Restriction: if you're going to eat garbage, then eat less of it. Dietary Restriction: take something out of your diet that is not healthy for you. It will be a vast improvement from the Standard American Diet. If you want results, try all three of these steps. 76% of the world population does not have the genetic adaptation for LCT. You should consider cutting out dairy; cow dairy is inflammatory for most humans. If you have skin issues, headaches, and extra flatulence, then dairy could be the problem. [11:50] The Importance of Testing For Glucose Values and Ketones Values If you are extremely insulin resistant, there is hope if you're willing to put in the work. There are two different companies that Kristina recommends for her clients: Keto Mojo: https://keto-mojo.com/ Biosense: https://mybiosense.com/ Keto Mojo allows you to test ketones and blood sugar. Plus, they provide your GKI. People should test every single day, especially in the beginning. That way, you can learn which foods are taking you out of ketosis. Plus, by testing, you can learn how many carbohydrates that you can tolerate. Some people can stay in ketosis at 50 total carbs or 75 total carbs. Everyone has their own carb tolerance. [18:50] What Is Nutrigenomics? It Might Be The Future of How You Eat The Human Genome Project was a project that spanned many years. Human DNA was mapped out to correlate to different nutrients and hormones. APOE4 is an old gene, and it conferred a lot of health benefits. One of the benefits was fertility in cold weather. Plus, APOE4 correlates to neuronal health in the brain and also to cholesterol production. Unfortunately, today's diet doesn't correlate to that old gene. Our diet causes a lot of inflammation. If you have APOE4, you shouldn't drink at all because you are 23% more likely to develop Alzheimer's. If you want to test your genes, Kristina recommends the Nutrition Genome: https://nutritiongenome.com/. If you have done a 23andMe, then you can use that data as well. [26:10] The Role That Epigenetics Plays With Our Genes and Lifestyle How you live is what impacts your epigenetics. We are in control of our health. How much sleep do you get each night? How are you moving your body? Genetics is the blueprint. Genes are the potential, and they can give us a roadmap on how to live our lives. Epigenetics is the optimal lifestyle that will help you lead a healthier and longer life. There's a gene that correlates to ketones: PPARalpha. If you have this gene, eating extra fat will be challenging. [30:40] The Health Numbers You Absolutely Need To Know Ask for your A1C. That way, you know if you are headed for diabetes. C-reactive protein is a cardiac risk marker. You want it to be under a 1. Also, test for homocysteine, RBC magnesium, and B12. Lastly, get a full thyroid panel. [33:25] How Changing Your Lifestyle Can Impact Your Mental Health Sugar takes us on a roller coaster ride emotionally. There is a strong food-mood connection. Cold therapy can be a huge benefit for improving mood. People don't need antidepressants and antianxiety medicine if they have the proper tools. It takes 72 hours to get off sugar. Once that's over, you have all this freedom and clarity. Then, you'll have the energy to work out. Plus, you will sleep better. All Selling Aside with Alex Mandossian | "Seeding Through Storytelling is the 'New' Selling!"
In 1960, Anthony J. Mahavoric was born in North Hollywood, California. Not sure who that is? Let me give you a hint: his mom remarried a man named Jim Robbins, who adopted young Tony as a 12-year-old. That’s right, today’s episode is all about Tony Robbins. This man has had the most profound influence on the coaching and consulting business, and has changed personal development as we know it. I believe that Tony has had three major inflection points over the course of his career. The first came when he was 17 years old and began working for Jim Rohn. The second came in the early 1980s, when he met John Grinder and started teaching NLP and Ericksonian Hypnosis. Tony’s third inflection point occurred in the early 1990s, when he met Bill Guthy and Greg Renker. My favorite quote of his is just three words long, but carries so much wisdom and insight: “Proximity is power.” If you want to turn your dreams into reality faster, you need to get yourself in physical proximity with people who are playing the game at a higher level than you are. These are people with higher status and more success than you, who make more money than you do. Surrounding yourself with these people allows you to model what is proven to work. Don’t miss today’s episode to hear more about the power of proximity, which is the common thread that runs through today’s key insights! In this episode, you’ll learn why... ...being the proximity of other leaders can change your life. ...who you spend time with is ultimately who you become in your life. ...your environments will influence your future more than your personal willpower. In This Episode: [03:47] - Alex introduces today’s episode and mentions the three key insights that you’ll learn as you listen. [05:21] - We hear the story of Anthony J. Mahavoric, better known as Tony Robbins. [07:34] - Alex explains when Tony Robbins’ first inflection point in his career occurred. [11:53] - We learn about Tony’s early infomercials, which featured celebrities, and how successful Tony became as a result of this exposure. [13:26] - Alex’s favorite saying by Tony Robbins is just three words: “Proximity is power.” He then talks about the importance of modeling. [16:22] - We hear about how spending physical time with specific people has changed Alex’s life and career. [20:45] - Proximity people can turn the dial and move the needle for your business, Alex points out. [21:44] - Alex shares an example of the power of proximity from his own business. [23:25] - We learn that Alex is an introvert (except when he’s on stage), and find out how proximity started for im. [25:21] - Who you spend your time with is ultimately who you become, Alex explains. [27:26] - What about proximity with groups? [29:33] - We hear a quick review of the insights about proximity that Alex has covered over the course of today’s episode. [30:52] - Speaking of reviews, if you haven’t already reviewed the podcast, please take a moment to visit this link and write down your biggest takeaway from this particular episode as a review of the show. This week we sit down with Daniel Vattay. Daniel started training as an engineer and very early on got into leadership positions, specifically learning teams, and realized that leadership was the core of his interest. He then moved into coaching and consulting, first agile practices and then leadership coaching. Later on he developed certifications in Gestalt and Body Oriented Psychotherapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis, and he is a master practitioner of NLP. Currently he does private therapy, and team coaching. His work boils down to working with people and aiding them in growth and self-transformation.
Peter Loupelis is fully qualified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and registered to practice both by the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia, a part of AHPRA. He has pursued further studies in classical Chinese and Japanese (Kiiko Style Acupuncture) acupuncture techniques and prefers a gentle needling technique that is pain-free and more effective for treatment efficacy. As a herbalist he is influenced by classical and modern approaches, willing to incorporate the wisdom from Ayurveda (India) and modern Western approaches to his prescriptions. Peter has a prior degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, and History, and it was through these studies that he began his study of Daoist philosophy and Tai Chi over 14 years ago. He spent a great deal of time exposed to various indigenous cultures around the world learning about their mythologies and the use of story-telling to elicit personal healing and social cohesion. He spent extensive periods of time on several Lakota-Sioux Reservations participating in community ceremonies and rituals. It was during this time – and after a serious auto-immune illness – that he turned to Chinese Medicine for both personal healing, and to pursue a career as a professional. Peter has also contributed to professional journals and has taught Chinese Medicine History and Philosophy and other Health Science subjects at a tertiary level. He has worked in both community and private-practice settings, and was the co-founder of Nourishing Life Complementary Medicine In recent years, Peter has also trained in (New Code) Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Ericksonian Hypnosis having found the benefits of it personally as a form of both personal and professional development. He has trained with internationally-renowned trainers Chris and Jules Collingwood, completing the only fully-accredited NLP course on offer in Australia. He has found NLP a valuable tool in behavioural change and developing clear, well-formed goals especially for those with chronic disease and illness. Peter’s background in Tai Chi and Qi Gong has proven an excellent tool in terms of physical fitness and building strength and flexibility, and also in terms of embodying the principles of stillness and movement inherent in Daoist philosophy. He teaches a Daoist form of Tai Chi taught to him by his Chinese Medicine practitioner and mentor as an adjunct to regular acupuncture and herbal medicine treatment. Coming from a family history of arthritis, Peter has learned and developed effective treatments for sufferers of arthritic conditions, and his personal history of serious thyroid disease has led him to have an intimate understanding of all types of thyroid-based illnesses and how Chinese Medicine can be utilised to effectively treat them. Peter also has a keen interest on all aspects of Men’s Health, including prostate disorders, sexual dysfunction (low libido, erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation), andropause, hormonal imbalances, depression and anxiety, relationships, and male fertility issues (such as low sperm morphology, motility, sperm count, DNA fragmentation, and so on). He has of late been exploring the historical Chinese Medicine approaches to dysbiosis and intestinal parasitic infestation and its relationship to many common modern digestive complaints such as abdominal bloating, weight-management issues, and the links between mood/emotion and diet and digestive health

My guest today wants to get us talking about the science behind relationships, and draw attention to the things in our relationships that we should be paying more attention to. His goal is to help create a world where couples live in loving, intimate and respectful relationships, enabling their children to grow up loved. He is a keen observer of human psychology, a master in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Ericksonian Hypnosis and a certified Results Coach. There are a ton of gems in this conversation, where we explore how our behavior takes place at both a conscious and unconscious level. My hope is that there is something you can take away from this conversation and apply it to a relationship in your life. Its time to think outside the lines with Jürgen Schmechel. Guest Bio: Jürgen Schmechel was born 1960 in Hamburg, Germany as the second son to his parents. He lived, studied, worked and married in Hamburg – to then be raising two sons himself. In 2004 his family moved to Australia to learn and live in a different culture. Jürgen is a keen observer of human psychology, he is a master in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Ericksonian Hypnosis and a certified Results Coach. Over the past 24 years Jürgen realized that he and his wife are doing things differently in their marriage from others. Some of their behavior was conscious, some more on the unconscious level. And with more and more relationships all around the world deteriorating, Jürgen decided to bring his wisdom and coaching to the people. He started his Inspiring Relationships only in January 2017, but already had so many discussions and sessions with people searching him out for advice and guidance. His mission is to inspire thousands of men yearly to stay in loving, respectful relationships. Which has a ripple on effect to their Children and the World. Here are the show notes for this episode: Mike has arrived from Bob Lake, because he cares about you! Hypnothoughts Live is nearly here! It’s the best hypnosis conference on Earth. Mike wants to talk about …but Chris interjects that his attention span is next to zero. (No kidding! He didn’t let Mike finish what he was saying!) Television used to be black and white with slow scenes and character development. It’s all about focus, folks! Does acetaminophen really reduce empathy? Apparently, if you take it, you just don’t care! Mike keeps trying, but somehow, just can’t seem to care! Microexpressions are not being judged accurately and we are saying goodbye to the power of mirror neurons. If we stop caring about each other…what kind of therapists will we be? Chris used to read 1,000 word articles, but something’s gone horribly wrong. Even Mike’s not immune (gasp!) It takes a couple of days for Mike’s brain to slow down. Switching on and off like a crazy monkey! It’s like a drug, and Chris is onto something… Mike studied neuroscience and gives the example of coffee and the brain beginning to expect it. It’s the same with stimulation from images. Chris talks about mental fasting, which is really clever. Beware of word whiskers! English is extremely precise. Use it like a tool…you know? The filler phrase attack! Nice one Chris!!! Mike coughs like a lunatic from the tickle created by laughing. Like? The one that drives Mike insane, although “I mean…” is even worse. So anyway… Anyway has a legitimate purpose as a recentering phrase. Please don’t say “Yada Yada Yada” or yeah…no…yeah…now… You know what? We have to stop talking about this. Let’s put an end to word whiskers! Awareness is the first step! It’s okay to pause! Chris’ Dad is doing a horrible throat sound whisker. Mike brilliantly invokes Gus Grissom. He goes on to explain the elderly woman’s horrible musical sound whisper: “Uh…hmm…mmm…” Mike is actually beginning to annoy himself! Hypnosis is an enhancing of focus. What a great definition! Focus created a throbbing thumb… The Reticular Activating System again! You can tune it. Mike used the RAS to find The Peterkin Papers again… The Engineer speaks! The brain is tuned by wanting the book and presenting it to conscious awareness. Mike and Chris are NLP people. The Magic Number 7 +/- 2 By putting stuff in your environment to remind you of your focus, it helps bring it into being. LTP is long-term potentiation…leading to permanency through Hebb’s Law. Mike bought a camera and camera advertisements appeared everywhere… MTV in the 1980s with Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles led to lack of attention! Lack of growth in a cancer is good! Mike talks about being at effect rather than being at cause. The 4 Love Languages Reprise… We all need things in the foreground to habituate connexions… You can use focus to help relationships too! “Uh…hmm…mmm” Mike admits to a rare relational error and actually apologized. When we ask you an empowering question it enables you to step outside the situation with a new focus… When things go wrong, someone’s lost track of the target state! Refocus, people! What would you like to have happen? (Thanks David Grove) Mike’s Word of the Year is back to Alacrity! Flow did not work for Mike. It made him way too laid back. Mike hits Chris in the solar plexus, purely for his own amusement. Mike says that Chris’ word Strength “will kick in at some point”, which is hilarious! Here are the show notes for this episode: Mike begins the show by admitting that he likes LOUD! And why not? He was into Black Sabbath way back in 1970! “If it’s too loud, you’re just too damn old!” Mike saw a plastic flying saucer being lifted by heavy equipment… Our student Florian has taken the hypnotic storm to Africa…The picture of the bell is proof! Check out Caveman Lodge in Zanzibar! You can see the bell… Whenever he gets fired, Chris just rehires himself. Self-directed neuroplasticity coming up… Las Vegas is looming…Come to Hypnothoughts Live 2017. Mike’s session is filling up… Mike suspects Chris has had a stroke, but it’s only a demi-stroke. The Ryan Intervention discussed…Created by our Enneagram One friend… Don’t lend other people’s stuff! He unwinds by doing woodworking, and his wife’s on his case. He offers drugs, alcoholism, massage parlours, as alternative ways to unwind. It works, because it’s really reframey! She saw it as an annoyance and a waste of time, but he shows the benefit. Books are on the way, and they’re awesome! Bo Bennett writes great stuff. 300 logical fallacies explained for you! Reductio ad Hitlerum is real! WTF??? Mike’s been doing this for years! By making someone seem to have something in common with Hitler, they automatically lose the argument! Underwires? Undergirds? Mike self-corrects to “undermines”! 12 years ago Mike accused Chris of being like Hitler because he’s left-handed! Can the brain process negatives? We’re really discussing the unconscious and it’s inability to handle negatives without deletion. Don’t PANIC!!! Make it easy for a stressed-out mind, by framing things in the positive. Tell people what to do, not what not to do… Even the unconscious mind is a model… Chris mentions autopsies now, which is weird, but Mike reigns him in… Beware the Straw Man! Conscious / Unconscious is only a model, but it’s a useful one! Walk the plank easily…unless it’s between two 50 storey buildings! Focus on crossing safely! If you focus on not falling…you probably will… The unconscious protects the physical body so it has somewhere to live! The intention might be protective, but ineffective… Mike alone on Huyckes Island…in the night…in the dark…Imagination on steroids. The 4 Stages of Competence! Bring in the emotions that will motivate! ADAC – Associate, Dissociate, Associate, Collapse! Commercial Break: The Shyzzjig Corporation ADAC Continued…Associate into the problem…Dissociate from the problem…Stop!…Associate into a Powerful State (shopping for weapons)…Collapse them together! Point at that sucker, just like Milton Erickson! Repeat as needed…You are literally rewiring your brain, folks! Do it with a Pattern Interrupt too! Whoa! This stuff really comes out! Karl Smith and the backwards phone number! (I don’t even care!) Forests get paths from use. The brain’s the same! It’s sort of like the old NLP Swish Pattern, only better! Empowering Question: What obsessive or compulsive thoughts will I erase from my mind? Empowering Metaphor: The camping trip… Mike and Chris will be taking the Hypnotic Storm to Las Vegas again in August! Come hang out with us and Storm Riders from around the world at the Orleans Hotel, and while you’re there, take our 2 day Introduction to Ericksonian Hypnosis. Details arehere. Here are the show notes for this episode: Mike begins by screaming “Loochie Hi Oh!” in the background, which sets the tone for what’s coming… Are we all hypnotized? The quarter game on steroids! Chris fears this might be an intervention Using PGO spikes to your advantage – Yes, there’s sound neuroscience for this! Mike does a good Gandalf impression, which Chris doesn’t pick up on, because he hasn’t seen The Lord of the Rings The electricity intervention! Best used in a text message or in a chat room. It really sounds weird… Backgammon for blood! Shut her down! This stuff really comes out! Are you into…you know…electricity? It sounds like it might be obscene or some horrible sexual thing that nobody talks about! Mike recalls the Jack 0′ Lantern Attack in his online chess games! Chris directs us to the PGO spike – Shock, novelty and surprise! That damn guy Bryan! He’s been attacking us online without motive, and may actually be a dick… Mike gives Chris permission to Ken Sweatman the story, and naturally Chris responds to the opportunity… The Sweatman story goes on for several minutes…Chris still hasn’t mentioned Bryan… We aren’t con men! Honest we’re not! How can a free video be a con?!?! There’s not even an offer attached! Chris responded to a vituperative email, and now the gloves are off… Full disclosure from Chris! How you become our customer…We are transparent and everyone wins, except Bryan! Mike can be heard in the background, quietly saying “dick…” Chris actually says A-hole and then asks for permission. We have a “No Dick Policy!” We don’t hang-out with them or interact with them. But Bryan wasn’t done yet… Chris tells the best way to use Social Proof is with Facebook comments! Bryan attacks our comments online because he thinks our students aren’t real… Our Storm Riders went aftah that peckah! It was an onslaught of support! Whoa! This stuff really comes out! Bottom line? Use social proof in your favour. Bryan has actually helped us with his dursatision The PGO Spike – Pons, geniculate body and occiput. Who’s lurking in that dark alley waiting to kill me? Oh, it’s a bag of garbage… Fight – Flight – Freeze…It’s a superhighway folks! Christophe the psychiatrist confirmed it! Fender bender in the rain! He used the PGO Spike to ensure the other driver would agree with his version of the accident! “Yes, I don’t know what he did! That car just pulled out in front of you and stopped! Then he just left!” The hypnotist winds up paying no $500.00 deductible, and gets his car fixed for free with no increase in insurance! Life can be nobody’s fault! Commercial Break: You’re Still Just Danny! Mike and Chris will be taking the Hypnotic Storm to Las Vegas again in August! Come hang out with us and Storm Riders from around the world at the Orleans Hotel, and while you’re there, take our 2 day Introduction to Ericksonian Hypnosis. Details arehere. Note: The November 13 – 17 Architecture of Hypnosis training at the University of Toronto is already half full! Book now or wait until May 2018 for the next one! Clickhere for details! Our first UK training is also coming up in November! It’s a hypnosis Master Class, so come on out! You get full certification in MINDSCAPING too…Go to the UK Hypnosis Academy Facebook page for details! Back into the show! Mike preframes by explaining that he did 24 college level lectures in Quantum Mechanics with theoretical physicist, Professor Benjamin Schumacher. Mike was reading about CERN. What the heck are they doing there? A positron is just an electron going backward in time! This freaks Chris out. Quantum computing is here, and Elon Musk is on the edge of new technology. Has the space/time continuum changed? Some physicists think it’s possible to enter another universe… Has it already happened?!?! Every decision we make can shift things…but dammit! Things have changed! The Mandela Effect is here! Mr Rogers, Moonraker, We are the Champions of the World! It’s all changing folks! The braces are gone, so that’s why they fell in love. A European VISA commercial is an artifact… Where’s that huge island off the west coast of Australia? (Mike makes a rare error and invokes Fast Times at Ridgemont High, but the film is actually Dazed and Confused.) That’s where the Malaysian aircraft disappeared! It’s freaking us out… The first James Bond was Barry Nelson! What’s going on here? Mirror mirror on the wall is gone, but Mike’s most freaked out by the Bible changes. Even the 1961 Bible has changed!!! Chris nails the issue with his scientific brain: There are only 2 possibilities here…Either a lot of people remember things incorrectly, or these things have changed… Michael C. Anthony is freaked out by this too. Charles Schultz is now Charles Schulz! Chris said “I’m planning on doing absolutely nothing with this knowledge. It isn’t going to change my life!” (He’s in denial and needs an intervention) The statue of The Thinker…his hand has moved! Empowering Question: What is your greatest gift or talent, and how will you use it to overcome your greatest weakness? Metaphor: The Lord of the Rings and Christopher Lee! Ending: Dave Ambrose, the People’s Physicist and a hearty Kltpzyxm! Please leave a rating in iTunes, and send in your questions by email to info(at)mikemandelhypnosis.com
Here are the show notes for this episode: Yep! We made it to number 81! The most victorious podcast ever… If you’re going on a picnic, there’s going to be ants in your sandwiches…but no ants in your casters, thanks to the Shyzjigg Corporation! Mike is almost a knight! But no history lesson here… Mike’s a cook…not a chef, but he loves knives. Triggers! What are they and what the heck do they do to us? A bacon discussion ensues…Let’s call people “Bacon”! Chris’ daughters Staphysagria and Vorolaya will love this! Call people bacon, unless they’re Jewish. Keep it kosher with chicken bacon if necessary! As our friend Jason Linett says “We help people.” We discuss the hilarious “hide the phone” prank Mike played on Chris last week (The funny thing is, Mike did it again at lunch after this podcast was recorded!) Chris is clearly puzzled and amazed, but Mike lets him run with it. Chris actually calls Mike “you bastard” which is horrible in a family rated podcast. Such filth. The waitress stole the phone, but she doesn’t know about it consciously. Mike is clearly really proud of this, and rightly so. It’s hypnotic magic, boys and girls! The Zeigarnik Effect in action! Timing is everything…make sure the 7 +/- 2 chunks are occupied. What’s coming up? Karl Smith in Toronto on April 29 and 30 to teach the Kinetic Shift! It’s going to be awesome… Architecture of Hypnosis still has a few spots for May and June 2017. Chris says “cheaper” way too many times and it sounds strange. HypnoThoughts Live 2017 is just a few months away. Come and study and hang with us in the epicenter of culture, Las Vegas! Mike’s teaching the Essentials of Ericksonian Hypnosis for 2 days. The boyz are also going to the UK in the Fall. It’s going to be awesome! What sets you off? Words get coded in your brain emotionally, so watch out, wimp-boy! Mike combats Chris’ earlier obsession with the word “cheaper” by hitting the lazy button about 10 times. You have to access the kinesthetic system to get to emotions. Triggers happen during sports events too. Mike goes on a Ricky Henderson tirade that continues to infuriate him. Are these bad states Ego States? Chris gives a great response! Mike doesn’t teach British Jiu Jitsu in his Egyptian Mau or Bengal cat playing state. (Good thing too…) State of mind, or sub-personality. Ask Gordon Emmerson… The Executive Ego State is YOU…(at least at that moment…) Some people trigger us on purpose. This can be dangerous… Withheld information!? Oh no! Back to the Zeigarnik Effect… “This is serious!” Don’t make me kill you!!!!! Chris’ daughters (Texephone and Clemnestrata) won’t let him leave a loop open. Notice when the triggers have fired. Where did they originate? Chris says he grew up in Montreal and Mike adds that he “killed a couple of kids with an axe!” Chris actually personified his skis and physically attacked them for being stupid. Mike invokes John Cleese in Faulty Towers. Chris says “EElogical” which Mike jumps on at record pace. Trauma is a memory distortion. The past intrudes into the present. Mike invokes Edwin Twitmyer and the knee jerk reaction. Chris admits he used to trigger his daughters, Samothrace and Yseult, by not tickling them. Mike reports Chris to Children’s Aid. The evil tickling torture of Gerry Childs! We are not our emotions! Practice QTiP (Quit taking it personally!) Associated vs Dissociated Mike admits he used to look like Dumbo. Chris teaches the Power of SO… Commercial Break: You’re Still Just Danny! Empowering Question: What triggers set me off on a regular basis, and what am I going to do to stop being reactive? Metaphor: The Power of Food to Annoy… Architecture of Hypnosis is approaching sold-out status for May 2017. Get in now, or wait until June…Then there’s only November left…(Update, the June dates are now officially set as June 12-16 Ending: Mike begins a brilliant round of Free-Style Chanting, and Chris joins in with great gusto and power. There are all sorts of ways to heal the wounds that contribute to sexual addiction. Tonight Carol the Coach will be interviewing Tom Prah who will be speaking about RIM which is a technique and scientific method of re-generating images in memory and re-scripting the experience to heal. RIM initially began as a synthesis of techniques that access the subconscious mind directly-Somatic Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Interactive Guided Imagery has continued to expand and evolve. Originally, the acronym RIM stood for Deborah Sandella's Ph.D RN. book Releasing the Inner Magician so it could be conveniently referenced as a research intervention for people suffering with stress relatied illnesses and condition, Her study found that RIM significantly decreased the symptoms of stress-related illness and significantly increases one's quality of life.. As it has evolved into a scientific method, the meaning of RIM has become both: Re-generating Images in Memory and Re-creating the Inner Movie. Tom has been using this successfully with individuals who suffer from Sexual Addiction.

As O'Keefe explains, “I was blessed to grow up being the 12th of 13 kids on the southside of Chicago. That's why my wife and I are still there.” MENTOR AND COACH After playing volleyball in college, O'Keefe continued coaching volleyball competitively with youth teams as he started down the path of entrepreneurism. While he left college with aspirations of motivational speaking, the first product that gained traction was “Ultimate Mental Toughness Training System For Athletes”. That was followed by the Ultimate Coaching Success System and other video products for coaches and athletes. “During my ages of 23-28, I literally went and trained under as many of the experts as I could have. I learned NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), Ericksonian Hypnosis, Cognitive Psychology, Meta-Physics, and most importantly how to integrate all of it into practical coaching methods that the high performer and average person both could use to experience outstanding results. My philosophy on working with super High Performers is simple: they already know how to be excellent; usually their biggest breakthroughs are found in the smallest distinctions in their thinking or feeling. At the age of 34, O'Keefe sold a division of his company and then launched one of the largest online supplement businesses. Once again, entering a market with zero experience. O'Keefe “applied my process” of doing the research, creating a team of experts, and modeling what worked from the top businesses already in the space. Welcome to Episode 56 of our hypnosis podcast, Brain Software with Mike Mandel and Chris Thompson! We’ve got a great episode for you … and we actually had to record this one twice! Yup, Our studio computer went haywire on us. But the second time was an improvement. And hey, We had fun recording it! If you want to learn hypnosis online make sure you check out the Mike Mandel Hypnosis Academy Here are the show notes for this episode: Mike just came off a two-day introduction to Ericksonian Hypnosis, which he teaches a couple of times per year for NLPWorks (the only NLP training in Canada we recommend, BTW). Mike explains the main difference beween this class and our 5-day full hypnosis training course. Congratulations to Jessie T, the winner of our contest from Podcast #55. She even sent us the hilarious text message chain where she beautifully applied the context free humour that we challenged everyone to use. Chris has just returned from a trip to San Diego to attend a marketing conference. He explains how marketing can be done better when you consider courting / dating as a metaphor for sales. We talk about hypnotic intersection and covert / conversational hypnosis. Chris talks about an example of applying this with a young woman who believed she had a case of stage fright. We have some fun with a tutorial on what we call “Stacking Negatives”. It’s a hilarious way to confuse the heck out of someone by … well … stacking a bunch of negative statements on top of one another (along with some other clever tricks). Check it out and enjoy! Mike and our mutual friend Ryan also invented a new context-free humour tool, which we challenge you to get on camera and send to us. We call it the tag team technique, and you’ll need to listen to the podcast to capture the full enjoyment potential. Mike talks about how subtle language can be with an explanation of using the word “only”. Contest for this podcast: Apply either stacking negatives or tag team in a real situation and send us the evidence / story. Winner claims a digital download of their choice for free. Empowering Question: When it comes to your personal wellness, whether it be diet, activity or mental game … which is the most neglected area of your life and what are you going to put into action starting right now. Closing Metaphor: Ravens in Northern Ontario. Please leave a rating for the show in iTunes, and send in your questions by emailing questions (at) MikeMandelHypnosis (dot) com.

Mark started Concentrated Coaching in 2012 to serve entrepreneurs, innovative business leaders, and writers/other creatives who've gotten “stuck” or de-energized. They have something important to do. The skills do it. But it's not happening or it's way too hard. Examples include getting started on a new business initiative that keeps getting deferred, overcoming writer's block, or transcending networking phobias or wounds from workplace abuse. Mark applies specialized tools in a very concentrated way, so that a few hours, his clients see such blocks to creative expression vanish. What they've been struggling to do becomes what they love to do. Mark had been a Partner with The London Perret Roche Group, llc., (LPR), which he joined in 2010 with 32 years' experience in global business strategy, sales and marketing tactics, and incentive/organizational design in situations from start-ups to multinationals. At LPR, he helped organizations unleash breakthrough business results by developing behaviors, practices, and attitudinal shifts essential to a culture of high performance and innovation. Andrew is an author, speaker, complimentary therapist, story teller and entrepreneur and was born in Crawley, West Sussex. He retrained in NLP and Ericksonian Hypnosis and during his working life became fascinated in the story. Andrew is an Associate Member of the Professional Speaking Association. Taking notes on sites and in office environments, he soon built up a library of interesting tales and started to formulate the plot for a book. With the winnings from his appearance on The Weakest Link, he self published his first novel, The Long And Winding Road in 2004, now out of print. After a period of dormancy, he self published his second novel The Truth, a hard hitting adult crime thriller in 2014. He has also written a work of non-fiction for writers called The Handbook of TOP TIPS to Manage Your Writing. His current works are aimed at young adults and adults who enjoy the story. Jack Janson, the eponymous hero of the series, befriends a giant who lives at the bottom of his gran's garden and from there, his adventures begin. Andrew has always known he was different somehow and was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome in 2015 at 51. This has brought great clarity to his life and has made sense of his past. This gives him an understanding of who he is and has been the springboard for his renewed writing. Andrew discovered the Writer's Summer School, Swanwick in 2004, and it had a profound effect on his life. He discovered a writing family who welcomed him with open arms and this has also boosted his writing and has made life long friends there.
