From the first moment I heard this ditty, it became my theme song. I learned to play it - (in a far cruder fashion than Ry, of course) and worked it into my set list. Just like the character Bill in the narrative, - (my name, btw) - my reprobate ways had also been domesticated by love. And, another harmonic convergence: I had even spent a year in Louisville, Kentucky. Jack Yellen, the Jewish-Polish immigrant who wrote these Jazz-age lyrics, also penned Happy Days are Here Again, and Ain't She Sweet. If he had only created these three songs, his oeuvre would have been impressive. His art was another example, like that of Irving Berlin and the Gershwins, of the affinity young Jewish musicians expressed for black culture. And, like the Semitic moguls of old Hollywood - they became reflectors of America's aspirational self-image.Ry Cooder's Jazz album was not exactly an anomaly - he has always been a musical archeologist, but on this collection he strove for unparalleled authenticity. Check out his jaw dropping rendition of Bix Beiderbecke's In A Mist. Sublime. He's a national treasure, and if the jaunty swing-time on this number doesn't get your feet tapping - check your pulse - you might be dead.
The 2025 NCAA Basketball Tournament brackets for both men and women were revealed Sunday evening and not without a bit of controversy. Will and Jim get into the meat of the WTH moment right up front addressing North Carolina getting a bid in the men's bracket. The selection committee jumped feet first into the fire choosing the Tar Heels and without a doubt social media will be ablaze with opinions for quite a while. The second portion of the WTH moment came with Louisville only being seeded No. 8 in the bracket. Will had some thoughts on that topic as did our previous guest Jeremy Wahman from CSZ who was on ACC Nation Podcast a week ago. NCAA Basketball Duke, Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina all grabbed spots in the tournament on the men's side for the ACC. It was a much merrier place to be for the ACC when it came down to the women's bracket. Eight teams made the grade including Georgia Tech, Florida State, NC State, California, North Carolina, Duke, Notre Dame and Louisville. The closest thing to a controversy on the women's side of NCAA basketball could be Notre Dame being seeded No. 3 after being a dominant team most of the season. Be sure to subscribe to ACC Nation Podcast, listen to us on ACC Nation Radio or watching ACC Nation on YouTube.

Hey, Clemson Family -- Brad Brownell's men's basketball team will take the court for the NCAA Tournament at 3:15 p.m. Thursday as a No. 5 seed in the Midwest Regional facing No. 12 seed McNeese St. That means a matchup against a former member of the program in Will Wade, who's been rumored to return to the ACC and interview for a head-coach opening. Clemson's oming off a disappointing performance in the ACC tourney with a pyrrhic victory over SMU in which starter Dillon Hunter was lost to a hand injury. Victor Lakhin, Ian Schieffelin, and Chase Hunter led the charge to survive that game and play Louisville closely, but the semifinals loss hurt the Tigers' seeding. We'll look at what needs to happen to advance in the NCAA Tournament and get a shot at another Sweet 16 or Elite Eight run. We're glad you found us -- be sure to watch on YouTube so you can share your reactions in the comments, and find us on social media @ClemsonKickoff!

The Duke Blue Devils are ACC champions! For the first time since 2005-2006, Duke wins the ACC Tournament after claiming the outright regular season title, defeating the Louisville Cardinals 73-62. Donald and Jason recap everything on Episode 706. It was a tough win for the Blue Devils, who didn't have a great first half but surged in the second half to take the game. The second half defense and the tenacity the team showed was incredible. Kon Knueppel was the ACC Tournament MVP, but there were several unsung heroes that helped Duke to the ACC title. After the break, we discuss some of the things that need to improve as we turn to the NCAA Tournament. We give out our Play of the Game as well as our Player of the Week as well. We end with quick predictions on what seed lines await Clemson and Louisville, whether Duke will be the #1 overall seed, and whether UNC makes the Big Dance. After his athletic career ended, Bridgeman operated numerous restaurants, including many Wendy's locations. On this week's show, we share some favorite stories about Bridgeman. Reporter Michael L. Jones also shares some clips from interviews that he conducted with Kevin Cosby, president and CEO of Simmons College, Jimmy Kirchdorfer, CEO of ISCO Industries and Wade Houston, a basketball great and founder of HJI Supply Chain Solutions.
