Our guest this week is legend PJ Gallagher. PJ did some of his best work pretending to be someone else in RTÉ's hit-show Naked Camera, and is one of Ireland's best-loved comedians. They chat with PJ about his love for daredevils, or the people with a passion for the pointless as he calls them. They look back on some of the best ‘Naked Camera' sketches, including one of PJ's favourites that didn't make the cut, and why the show couldn't be repeated. PJ Gallagher has been one of Ireland's most famous faces for the past two decades, and has lived his life in the public eye in that time - but he is only now telling the full story.He spoke to us about growing up in a house with alcoholic parents and 5 men with schizophrenia; how he got into comedy; the birth of Naked Camera and the inspiration behind Jake Stevens; how he found out he was adopted and contacted his birth parents, and how his struggle with depression very nearly saw him take his own life, but through the help of friends and the proper car he was able to come out the far side.We also hear about the time a young Calvin and his mates jumped PJ, during a recording of Naked Camera.

In this my 100th Podarooney I chat to Paul Tylak, Patrick McDonnell and Paul Woodfull all of whom I have done double acts with.  With Paul Tylak I was in The Quacksquad. We also wrote and performed in Flatheads a short punky sitcom on RTE back in the eighties and co-wrote and presented Messers Tylak and Rooney on TV3. Paul has recently had major roles in the series The Informer on BBC and the film Halal Daddy. With Patrick McDonnell I was in The Pound Shop Boys and am currently touring with him as the Culchie Warriors. Our sketches can be found on the Joe and Pat Facebook page. Patrick McDonnell has written for and acted in The Savage Eye and Naked Camera and more recently in The Tommy Tiernan Show.  With Paul Woodfull I was in The Hairy Bowsies. Paul has written for The musicals I Keano and Copper Face Jacks. He is currently writing on the Father Ted musical.

Genuinely one of the funniest people I know. I've almost crashed the car from laughing on the way to gigs with Pat McDonnell. Pat has starred in a ridiculous amount of comedies, Father Ted, Savage Eye or Naked Camera to name a few. A stall-worth of the stand-up scene in Ireland, we get into everything from North Korea to shit gigs together.

On today's show, I talk to Irish comedian Maeve Higgins. Born in Cobh, County Cork, Maeve grew up in rural Ireland and originally studied to be a photographer. Since starting stand-up in 2004, she's performed at the Edinburgh Fringe numerous times, the Melbourne International Festival, and many others.
